Common sense that companies need digital maturity. Not many have a protective niche. Especially in the US. Great illustration!

Very well done. Does VW have full self driving mode or over the air updates? Is the VW factory comparable to Tesla's Gigafactory as related to digital integration?

Is this only applicable to manufacturing plants

What a mind f*ck it is to present on the whiteboard and having it flipped in your head. 😂

    Hi thanks for the videos,
    Couple of questions-
How can you assess the digital maturity of a company if you are not embedded in the business or have worked exclusively with the company?
All electric cars do over the air updates , therefore all products are getting better after you buy them, therefore what makes Tesla so special in that regard?

We assess orgs through three mechanisms:
      1. We do the Digital Transformation Maturity Assessment ourselves
      2. The client does it and self reports
      3. Another vendor does the assessment
On EVs and OTA Updates - doing updates over the air is how changes are deployed, what makes Tesla unique is how they collect data from the cars, treating them as data collectors - Tesla’s PLM is closed loop, Everyone else is open loop - relying on Customer input to drive ‘innovation’.

Did I just listen to you have a crack at a high school kid? 😂

😂 If you consider asking a high school student to substantiate their position is a crack, then absolutely. That was funny. 😆

@@ZackScrivenI guess I had to be there. 😆
Generally speaking, Walker's question, "Is Tesla an awesome company?" hinges significantly on a precise definition of 'awesome company'. I think this is one of the reasons why he asks the question, because without the definition it helps with ENGAGEMENT as a broad audience will define the question in different ways.
From a business standpoint, Tesla is remarkable. I'm an Elon fanboy with SpaceX and Tesla. However, from a product perspective, I can understand opinions may vary. As an example Tesla's approach to repairs, its subscription models, exclusive charging ecosystem (no so much anymore), and lack of support for features like Android Auto might not sit well with everyone. In this 'consumer' perspective Tesla is not an awesome company.
Walker is a skilled speaker and is challenging a younger individual in a nuanced way, one that isn't just a straightforward disagreement but involves deeper assertions about definitions. I have some sympathy for the Highschool kid.

Maybe makes sense when you sell cars, but what about toilet paper? Does your toilet paper need to get better over time? lol.

Great question, what problems do you have with toilet paper ownership? If you think critically you will find that a digital toilet paper company will beat a non-digital. Through innovation, cost reduction, and increased customer satisfaction. If 4.0 Solutions and Intellic integration can figure out how to do it with bread, then toilet paper is no different.

Lol, I get it. I was also wondering how the products I make could get better over time. I make stranded copper wire for residential and commercial use but I don't know if there is any hope for the company I'm at. They just installed screens so we can see our OEE at the work areas. However, I run 4 lines each with a different gauge wire but I have one OEE score. Each gauge requires different downtimes and run times. Like wtf?
