The term "Chicken Lights" and "Chicken-Hauler" comes from the 60's and 70's when live chickens were regularly hauled OTR. The amount of lights on that the Chicken trucks had on them was an instrument in keeping the Chickens on-board calm at night. The vast number of lights would illuminate the rig to where looking from the inside-out like that of daylight.
There is many of reasons for "chicken" lights Your is just one of many that can not be confirmed. Most of all since i've hauled chickens and trust me lights don't help keep them calm. Unless you run a red light which they can't see . But then you have all the car lights on the road... no Chickens day or night when the truck is moving normally will lay down and go for a ride. and even back in the 60's and 70's they was never hauled more than a days drive.
