- I had the to ride an @Indian_Motorcycle Chieftain with the @lloydzgarage 126 big bore kit.. Big Gabe was with me with his @harleydavidson RoadGlide with the HD 131 and it was a little bit of fun to see how the too big bore kits stood!!!
Quick stop in to see a couple custom @Indian_Motorcycle bikes that were put together at Indian motorcycle of St Paul..

Damn. Now I want the 126 kit for my Chieftain. lol. I was planning to get the Lloyds tune while I'm in Sturgis.. and then I started thinking about doing the 585 Cams too. But now you're video is making me want the 126 kit. I better do more overtime... lol
Fish, I rode the 126, 116 with cams and a stock 116 from St Paul last Saturday. The 126 was my favorite, but that 116 with cams got down. We had 3 guys riding all 3. The 116 cams was keeping up with 126 on the road.
The thing we all do for science!!!!!! Very interesting to say the least!! I have heard that the 116 with cams was best bang for buck!! 🤷♂️ I guess I might have to get my butt back up there... for science!!
@@Ridingfish that's right. It was my first time on a Chieftain. I was actually surprised how well the stock 116 did. I mean, it's no 108, but it did well LOL.
I just bought a 2020 Chieftain Elite and it's waiting for the 126 BBK.

Those bikes are beautiful, I sold my street glide 2 years ago and have the fever again. I have been looking at the chieftain dark horse.

Love to see ported heads with bigger valves on a Thunderstroke. See what it could really do.

Are you from Minnesota? I've always heard you mentioned in some other fellow RUclipsrs videos on indian rides. Getting the 585 cams at the end of the month
I am from Minnesota!! They have a bike at St Paul with the 585 cams and I wish I would of had more time to feel the difference.. I heard best bang for buck might be cams.. 🤷♂️ as I have not played on both.. CONGRATULATIONS on your cams!!! Let me know what you think
He's a heavier rider but he is also on his bike and has his junk in the bags, where you are on a sale bike with nothing in the bags and weigh less as well. power to weight ratio, the 126 is certainly impressive.
I'm pretty sure my 17 Roadmaster had traction control and abs, just no synced front and rear brakes. Indian doesn't do brake sync at all so far
No traction control mate, but ABS, I have '18 RM, no traction control

I love my Pursuit, but I also miss my Chieftain.
What do you miss about it.?
My Wife and I enjoy riding the backroads looking at the scenery, and sometimes I ride pretty slow. The Pursuit doesn't like slow. That is my humble opinion. I am still getting used to the Pursuit, and maybe I need to adjust my riding style, shift patterns, etc., when riding slowly 🐌 😅 The Chieftain was great for that riding style. We also ride on the HWY, State roads, etc., and it does great. Don't get me wrong, I love the Pursuit and could list many items I like.
I was just planning on 585 cams in my Chief...but damn maybe a 126...ugh haha
A few ppl told me the 585 cam is a beast in thr 116!!

I have a 2017 scout that I purchased recently and I am hooked on the liquid cooled concept. Still checking out the air cooled options though 🦾🦾🦾

Challenger and Pursuit are more top-heavy true, they are a little like Victory was

Seems like that 131 was dragging that 126. It looks like you would have never caught up to him had he stayed in it. I'm just saying.
I am not hating. I am older than you and will have to make decisions about safety someday not just my own but those around me. I will stay on two wheels as long as safe riding is possible. Maybe a wheelchair with a boom box and a recording of the Toce 2 into1 exhaust under full throttle.
I thought a 131 Lloyds engine was available ?
They have one.. I'm not sure why they chose to put thay 126 in this bike.. maybe available 🤷♂️ 🤷♂️....

Traded my roadmaster up there for challenger. 116 camed and every performance I could stick at it and still got beet by a 96 cubic inch harley and if you even tride to ride hard in a corner the suspension was so soft wanted to wable and try to kill me.

Only people making suspension for the front is race teck far as I know and they only did one.

@Ridingfish I road to beecher Illinois last weekend and Steve chamberlain that rides BRL road my challenger and got beet buy a cammed m8 as well.
Instead of a trike get a mini-van and take the windshield out.

@@Ridingfish Beautiful Bike...Like the old style Fairings on both SG and RG better....Both way out of my Price range....Was in Glendale HD trying to make a deal on new RK Special in Yellow....Even at MSRP price i didnt want to make those payments for 60mos.....There is something about owning your owning your older Bike free and clear....👍😎
I'm hearing 45 and 53 that they will have a standard CVO and a special CVO.. thats a lot of money
@@Ridingfish Yes thats alot of money......For a Bike that your gonna ride hard....Cruisen down the Interstate at 80mph and more....Your gonna be hit with every bug and gravel known to Man.....Its gonna get scratched and dinged by them....20k is the Max i will pay for Bike...

With the riding I do I like the chieftain power plant but like the fixed fairing better. The challenger power plant is nice to have fun but not practical for my riding style
What is the style you feel the Chieftain is better?

Is that the power out of a 126? Do you know what power the 131 gets? There’s no data anywhere. Heck while you’re at it, what’s a 111 with 585 cams give ya?
Not sure why Indian isn’t racing the Chieftain BBK
I know they tried a little last year but had suspension issues.. but then (it was turbo charged) and had issues with that!
The Indian Chieftain has a poor head design when compared to the Challenger.
@@dnewman3402 as in the fairing? I agree, but look at the fairings on the current race bikes. If your talking motor, then oh different realize that. Thank you.
@@poppysadventures2020 ---> The Harley head design and the Indian Challenger head design makea a whole lot more TP and HP than the current 111 and 116-inch Indian engines.
