Amazing. Great tips tips Adam. I so appreciate you taking the time to share and help me understand and grow. It truly looks like my backyard in Southeast Alaska
Still using LR6 & Affinity Photo, = a couple versions back. 2 things I wish I could do in AP, (maybe it could but If so, I don’t know about it) 1, luminosity mask without writing your own macro’s. 2, choose multiple photos, right click, open as layers. Anyway, great vid.
Thanks so much. Since the new version of LR came out, I haven't used the radial gradient. Thanks for opening my eyes to it. I'm sure I'll be watching this several times.
I watched a video of you using these (similar) techniques a year or two back and I transformed my woodland photography, thanks. I think I tend to over do it a bit these days, so this will remind me to dial it down a little. Cheers.
That's so great to see your techniques !!! Thanks a lot for this image editing !!! The before/after is amazing. It's so mind-opening to see you work and imagine how I can better edit my images.
A new Old Growth book??!! 🤗🤗🤗 Oh yes please! Great video. I've unfortunately been slow in utilizing all the new features in Lr so many months ago 🙄🤷🏼. I'll get there eventually 😁
Thank you Adam. I'm fairly new to digital editing and I found this video very useful. I'm sure that I will be referring back to it as I plan to redo some of my previous efforts that I now realize are not so great.
Very informative and helpful tutorial, Adam, thankyou! I have always struggled to understand lightroom and tend to use photoshop pretty much always. I am excited to utilise these techniques with my images.
Thanks heaps Adam! It's a great video and photograph. This is honestly one of the most helpful tutorials out there. I do a lot of woodland photography myself and these editing techniques could help improve my images.
Thanks man - always good seeing someone do their fine tunes to pick up what they're going after and how... and THANK YOU SQUARESPACE for sponsoring this guy and many of the other artist sorts posting here on YT.
Always a pleasure to see how other editors work. I often push the whites up in dark areas to increase local contrast as you did. Another thing I love for dramatic photos is step down the entire photo by about 1/2 a stop then paint in areas of interest brightening them up to draw the eye to them. I also often add a bit of texture and clarity into those areas, in fact I call it "add focus" and saved it as a preset.
Very helpful thanks. I've been pretty good with most of the masks but haven't played much with the Color Range and that example you showed was perfect. Just what I needed and looks pretty simple to work with.
Very helpful tutorial, even for a Capture One user. :-) Goes to show once again that the tools we use matter much less than the ideas we want to get across. Thanks!
This was as helpful as any of the paid tutorials I've purchased in the past. Fantastic video as always Adam, all of your content is vey much appreciated.
I really enjoyed this Adam. You push very gently with your edits and build on them to create a masterpiece. Looking forward to your warmer weather hikes and photography.
Enjoyed your presentation. Not sure how it would work with this photo, but you can create some rudimentary luminosity masks with Lightroom's new masking tools. I was waiting for you to try those instead of the cumbersome brush masking.
I enjoyed seeing how you would edit the photo. It would be interesting to see how you would edit the same photo using PS and luminosity masks. Thank you
Exactly what I need! Spot on as usual but great explanations for each edit and how they are accomplished. Never had to do this with my old military film images. Sometimes i really struggle in LR and PS bc I never have gotten the tutoring I need and learning on my own Im making a lot of mistakes without even knowing it. This definitely helps great job!
I'm new to the channel... great video and tips! I like subtle as well and try not to over-edit. Can I ask where you got the sweatshirt you're wearing? :) Nice!
I'm surprised you haven't realised that if you change the settings before starting to brush you can see the effect real time as if you were using the dodge and burn tools. This is true of any effect. You can brush in texture, vibrance and see what you are doing. Since you can adjust those settings at any time there isn't as much reason to use the flow and density tools as well.
I use capture one but the message here is subtlety.
This has been the first video where I finally got it!
Thanks 👍

Amazing. Great tips tips Adam. I so appreciate you taking the time to share and help me understand and grow. It truly looks like my backyard in Southeast Alaska
great lesson, how to create dept in your images, something to remember.
Masterful demonstration that subtlety is key!
Great insight into your thought process with this image, Great editing tips too. Thanks for sharing.
Using Fuji you should really try Capture One. So much better color scheme out of the box.
A model lesson on editing. Explanations were clear and easily understood. Thanks so very much!
Thanks.... I like the "why" as well as the "how".
Great video and so informative Adam! Thanks for sharing your skills!
Thanks so much. Since the new version of LR came out, I haven't used the radial gradient. Thanks for opening my eyes to it. I'm sure I'll be watching this several times.
Thanks so much for showing your workflow in LR. Could you also do a blog using PS. so useful
I love the image you chose for this technique video. It is so useful. Thank you for showing us this information packed lesson.
Ha! I tend to reduce highlights/whites when adding contrasts with brushes and your approach is intriguing Adam absolutely going to give it a try 👍🏼
Masterful - love the way the depth appears.
Yes I did enjoy it. Thank you!
Love this kind of video. You are the master of moderation.

Thank you Adam! Know I feel perfectly prepared to return to re-edit one of my photos which I've struggled with before.
I’m enjoying these processing videos. Thanks for taking the time to explain both the how and the why you do it.
great tutorial. thanks Adam.

Always enjoy your videos Adam. Love the subtle approach you have to editing. A lot of really useful techniques in this one. Thank you.
Nice guide; thanks :) esp useful to see the effects -ve dehaze and changes to white balance etc. as opposed to primarily exposure changes
That’s was extremely helpful; thank you Adam!
Glad to hear it!

Thanks for sharing that process! I find editing intimidating, so this was very helpful.
A well taught lesson, Adam, and the result was beautiful.
Thanks Adam, great content!
Thanks Adam for this LR demonstration. I use LR only therefore it was a perfect tutorial for me!
Good tips Adam. Thanks for sharing. Especially liked that vignetting and using it to just impact the bottom corners.
Same. That vignette tip was so simple and yet I doubt I ever would have thought of it myself.
Thanks heaps Adam! It's a great video and photograph. This is honestly one of the most helpful tutorials out there. I do a lot of woodland photography myself and these editing techniques could help improve my images.
Great to hear!

Really appreciate showing us your editing flow. Super helpful (even having purchased some of your other editing classes).
Thanks so much for sharing your talents. Well done.
Excellent and learned a couple of tricks, thank you so much!
Super video 👍🏻
Could you make the same video but with photoshop on the same image ?

Great edit processing advice Adam, the new LR tools are very useful indeed.

Thank you very much !❤💚💙
Thank you for your help in my editing
I really enjoyed this Adam. You push very gently with your edits and build on them to create a masterpiece. Looking forward to your warmer weather hikes and photography.
great video Adam,
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for a great video.
I also want to clearly do some of the things in PS. With Luminosity masks.
It's easier.
I don’t use anything Adobe any more. But the principles here work with other editors.
Really enjoyed this one Adam, very useful 👍 Cheers
Great video, thank you 🙌
Great as always Adam thanks for sharing
Thanks, This is very helpful. I notice you don’t use sharpening or film simulations….is that true mostly?
Thanks for the follow up video, very helpful. Cheers
You bet
Great tips, I’ll be sure to try Lightroom stead of PS next time 👍
Enjoyed your presentation. Not sure how it would work with this photo, but you can create some rudimentary luminosity masks with Lightroom's new masking tools. I was waiting for you to try those instead of the cumbersome brush masking.
I did! with the colour picker, you must have missed that bit
masterful!
This was so well done Adam and you ended up with a wonderful forest image. Quite helpful...Thanks!
Many thanks!
Great and helpful tutorial, thank you for sharing your craft. Result as always fantastic :)
No, thank you. Great stuff!
I enjoyed seeing how you would edit the photo. It would be interesting to see how you would edit the same photo using PS and luminosity masks. Thank you

Great valuable content Adam.
As per usual !! always interesting your videos & I learned a lot of things in editing. Good evening it's 20.00 in France. See you later Adam.
Good tutorial Adam.thnx
I'm new to the channel... great video and tips! I like subtle as well and try not to over-edit.
Can I ask where you got the sweatshirt you're wearing? :) Nice!
Umm I got it on sale at a running store called "Distance Running" in Vancouver many years ago
You are the man!!! Not like that goat-hair jacket wearing Gavin! Lol! I enjoyed the video and as always learned a lot! Thank you!

Great lesson Adam, can l ask what pc do you use please?
Apple imac
very good
Is there a huge benefit to using photoshop with TK8 luminosity masks for these same adjustments?
Good question , would be interested in peoples thoughts on this. I use LR and have Photoshop but don’t use it much
Luminosity masks are way more precise plus in some ways easier to use
ca you show us the Photoshop way to fix the photo
thumbs up 👍👍
