I have had a Kalkoff Endeavour 7b for just under 1 year & covered around 2000 miles around 3200 km. The bike has been faultless with a fantastic quality ride, I love it.
I brought a Reid Blacktop electric bike, very basic and cheap bike $1500, 25 km top speed and about 35 km range .I average 20 km daily commute to and from work, beats sitting in traffic
Ditch the high price of fuel and the car. Go electric. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Every child and adult should own a bicycle and ride it regularly.
I got an E-bike mid drive conversion kit. It was fairly inexpensive compared to purchasing an all out electric bike. The best part it was pretty simple to install. With my e-bike I don't have to take my car to drive to work across town, I get there in the half time anyways because of the all the bike paths and I am not sweating of exhaustion because the mid-drive motors pack a pretty mean punch when it comes to the full electric mode and even the assist mode.
They were nice bikes you tested. As you’re a Kiwi journo I thought you might’ve tested a Kiwi brand by now. I have a Bionic, which I’m really enjoying . I’d like to know what you think of them.
Bicycles, ebikes, electric cargo bicycles, robo taxis and escooters are great options for last mile, short distance travel. Cities need to do more to encourage people to ride bicycles by providing SAFE, PROTECTED BIKE LANES and trails. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Bicycles are healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. Electric bicycles are bringing many older adults back to cycling. Ride to work, ride to school or ride for fun. Children should be able to ride a bicycle to school without having to dodge cars and trucks. Separated and protected bike lanes are required. It will also make the roads safer for automobile drivers. Transportation planners and elected officials need to encourage people to walk, bike and take public transportation. Healthy exercise and fossil fuels free transportation. In the future cities will be redesigned for people not cars. Crazy big parking lots will be transformed.
