The FOMO is really getting to me on this one...BUT, before I buy the palette I wanted to see if I can dupe the vibes! Did you pick it up?
I still really want to keep closing my eyes when I see the palette. It really looks like I need it. Just like you so glad have some of my Sydney Grace eyeshadows. I still have major fomo.

I actually couldn’t wait to get this one I was so excited the second I saw it I knew I was buying as soon as it was released, this is before I could be influenced. I wanted the Yucca as well but that one I didn’t need immediately so the day I need a nude was released I just bought both. I own every midi palette she has released Natasha just gets me every time
I bought the ND palette today (my first ND purchase) but I'm still very interested in what you dupe
I ordered it, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Maybe I should try to dupe it with my indie singles and see if I already owned it. If I do it, I’ll post it on IG.
I was really hoping someone would dupe this palette specifically with Sydney Grace shadows. I saw the release of the Natasha denona palette and really wanted it, but then thought, "I'm sure I have these shades already". I bought the eyeshadow only mystery bag from Sydney Grace during the sale, so I have a lot of the shades you mentioned. Can't wait to dupe this palette myself. I got the ND palette. Did I need it? Absolutely not. Do I love it? Yes. But I love Sydney Grace as well. I have been on a low buy all year, but recent purchases have negated much of my efforts, sadly to say. You did a great job duping the ND. I appreciate it. Reinforced my efforts to cut back and use all the beautiful items that I already have. Thank you ❤

I was just like you and thinking after Christmas in July I haven’t even unpacked all my new shadows and mystery bags. But was feeling super attracted to the color story and I do like ND products. I have a BOATLOAD of new shadows some of which are just as beautiful and have not even been played with. They may not be the wet formula but just as pretty. I was gonna dupe it myself but thank you for helping me out! I cannot wait to try these. I think I have most of them!! To me it looks very similar. Nice job! Love both looks!!! I think the neutral left looks like evening. Love the right for any time! Beautiful!

I did this with the N.D. Yucca Palette. I knew I had that color story throughout my collection. I used N.D., Sydney Grace, & some random singles I had. I found that I have only used it a few times; I really dont need to purchase that palette. When I saw this one I bought it without hesitations. I went ham over this past Christmas in July Sale. Love this video and you did a great job! Thank you for all your hard work!!! ❤
Good for you for creating a dupe and finding it wasn't a need--that's so awesome! I do think one of the reasons this palette is so popular is the fact that it is a very easy, wear all the time color story. To be honest, I'm sort of surprised I paused on this one--but right now I'm in such a "get it on sale" mode hahahaha
Oh boy, I understand. I have always been interested in ND palettes, but there was always something about the color stories that put me off; 3-4 colors I knew I would never use. But, the I Need a Nude looks perfect! I committed to purchasing only two palettes in 2023. I purchased the new Sydney Grace Love’s Journey palette during the July sale. I cannot wait to watch this video and see what you can come up with. BTW, I have been subscribed for approx a year and I really enjoy all of your content, especially your BYOP series. Thank you for the effort you put into your content.

I know what you mean about her palettes. For me, I think they are pretty but I never had to have one. Then I saw the My Dream palette and I thought that was it. That was the one I had to have. But this new palette really spoke to me. It looks like a good mix between Retro and Glam.
I was inspired by your video and did my own SG dupe of the palette, but I had bought it. You definitely don’t need it; the SG shadows are so much more pigmented, shimmery, and everything else. Happy to share my dupe (with benefit of the palette)! Thank you. It takes a bunch of time, but so worth it.

Yeah I caved and ordered it, eagerly waiting for the postman to deliver it. I finally recieved my Sydney Grace christmas in July order. ( there was a back order) but I instantly loved the single '' June Lake" it went straight into my curated favorites palette.

I was hoping someone dupes it with SG singles ( Kendra Morgan official used to dupe but she seems to have quit youtube ??). ND's color stories are always lacking for me. Either too repetative or too similar shades in one palette (like with the new ones as well, lol not surprised), she never gets it right. This new one certainly is not a cool toned palette, it seems to have warmer tones but mostly neutral. I much rather prefer building my own palette with my singles especially I prefer quality of SG over ND textured flakey sparkles, they dont look nice on the eyes and thats what I saw in Lauren Mae's new video. Thanks for making such a fun video!
I agree--when it comes to standard shimmers I much prefer the Sydney Grace formula. For one thing, they're always consistent!
Kendra does such great dupes, I'm hoping she'll be back but she is taking some time away right now for personal reasons. 💕
Duping really helps me see that I already have the shades or in rare cases that I just need one or two! I have the SG Coffee Talk and was able to use it in duping as well as similar shades to those you had chosen (for instance, I went with Fairytale for Wit). The one shade I don't have and am stuck on is for Ella. I don't have Kiteflying and am just not sure what is close.
Yes I almost pulled out some of the coffee talk shades too!
Maybe if you don’t have a good substitute for Ella you can just choose another shade you’d love in the palette? Your own tailored version! 😉
@@KeepBeautyReal1 I am testing out some options and decided to go with Coliseum for Ella and Aplple Cider where you used Coliseum. I also added an aditional color - San Jose and Drift together are my equivalents for Fair since I think the main point is to have a base or blender shade.
@@KeepBeautyReal1 You bring up a really good point. While duping the palette is helpful for FOMO, the real point is to have colors that work with my eyes and skintone and to enjoy playing with them!

How did you pop out the pan from love's journey? Is it magnetic?
YES! Most of the SG palettes are magnetic. I just kept the plastic shadow cover over the shadow(a piece of tissue or parchment would work too), and put my magnet on the side of the pan and it popped out easy-peasy!
I think you did a superb job of duping this palette. I don't want it I don't know it seems like I am in the minority but I think since I have glam and retro I can mostly dupe it that way and the ones I don't have I can dupe with singles. I personally find this exercise so helpful for talking myself out of just being impulsive. I have only added 4 new palettes this year and trying to be hella selective so I don't just have a billion and one of the same colour story.
Yes exactly-it’s a great exercise! Not only to do you get to see if you already have similar items, BUT you also find some amazing things you have that you have most likely forgotten about (or newer ones you haven’t had a chance to use yet)-even if they aren’t a dupe, it’s exciting.

I was hoping someone would create a BYOP dupe of this palette with Sydney Grace singles! I prefer SG's foiled shadow formula over the sparkling piece-y shadows the I Need a Nude palette seems to have. In saying that, I may end up getting the ND palette later on. I purchased too many palettes and singles from the SG sale.
In general, I really prefer SG shimmers over ND. They are always such a reliable shiny formula!
I bought the new Sydney Grace neutrals palette during the sale and I had already made a singles neutral palette with my Indie shadows so definitely don’t need. Plus I only buy ND on mega sale. I’ve never thought it was worth the luxury price unlike some other brands I won’t name.

I was very lucky. I saw this randomly very very late at night, insomnia, I popped onto the Sephora app. The palette was a 24 hour rouge exclusive, I took one look at it and ordered immediately. The color story is ME, I am a true pink, not a pink undertone, my skin is pink. I am really a neutral eyeshadow girl 90% of the time. Then when I saw the new formulas the wet look shades, the super sparkle, I was beyond thrilled I ordered it. It arrived today and I just keep staring at it. I love ND anyway but these shades, yes yes and yes! I never had any hype, fomo, no one influenced me, it was just love at first sight. I am super curious to see if you can come close to duping it though.

From what I can see in swatches, the palette actually has some warmth in the rosier tones. (Obviously I haven’t seen the actual palette in person yet)

I mean, I guess I do need a nude from ND. Because like half of these SGs are not even available for purchase as singles?
This was a letdown because of the unavailability. (And tbh now I'm more disappointed in the junk extra colors SG sent me as the all shadows GWP.)
Quite a few of these shades were from this year’s mystery bags-so many people recently acquired the singles. I do feel like there are similar shades within the range, so many could be swapped out-but the whole point was just to encourage people to look through their own collections to see if they can get something similar, not necessarily to have people buying new Sydney Grace shades (especially since that would end up being more expensive that the ND palette itself). Sorry this wasn’t as helpful to you as it was for some others.
Curious why you said that now you’re disappointed with the free shadows you were given and how that related to this video? I didn’t quite get that part.

Ah in reference to me saying “out of order, I meant that in the advertising swatches they did the order of the palette MOSTLY but rearranged a few shades to make them look more contrasting.
I really like this video. I'm not a fan of neutral palettes especially if it has so many shades. The ND palette is gorgeous but I love your spin on it. I have noticed in my collection I do have a lot of basic neutral palettes already. I might do a dupe the vibes palette if I get major FOMO. But my vibe is more ND the Yucca palette and getting a mini Starlette palette. I watched some reviews on the ND palette and some comparisons of palettes which helps to keep my FOMO down.
Yes! Comparison videos really to help ramp down the FOMO because at this point most of us have something similar to MOST of what launches 🤣
Oh also, she lays out the palettes so if you choose rows, quads, or columns you can creat cohesive looks.
Oh yes I did know that--I meant the order that the brand swatches are in online don't coordinate with the order in the palette.

How can you dupe a palet without the pallet your dipping. Pics don't always look the same.

You're absolutely correct--pictures don't always look the same! That's why i really dug around and compared quite a bit of swatch content and talked to friends that have the palette. At the end of the day this process was to A: see if I had something CLOSE to avoid buying something I have a very similar vibe of in my current collection, and B: decide if it's a color story I would really get a lot of use out of. 😉 I think a lot of people are trying to avoid repetitive purchases, and quite a few people decide to look within their current collection to get a similar "dupe"--buying it to compare sort of defeats that purpose.
