Great video and great to see the old bus being used properly. I partly drowned my first Disco 1 in that mud hole many years ago but it got stuck before the mud got really deep, I'm glad it did!
I had the best series 111ever here in Australia I fitted it with a Ford falcon 4.1 crossflow alloy head engine and Jack Macnamara diff lock.I had a Scottorn trailer driven from the PTO with a capstan winch. With the massive torque of the engine I fitted 9.50 x 16 tires on Landrover 16”rims needless to say it was a mighty off road vehicle.
Poor Landie. 20 years of tough military service and then you get it 😆. I have built my own expedition trailer. Single axle. To get 2 tyres to carry enough weight I had to get custom 17.5" wheels with lorry tyres. Not cheap!

I read about this in the magazine and was hoping you'd do a video on it!
We tried to film as much as we could - but when things like the winch rope came off, we were much too busy trying to remedy it, than to film!
Same, the words and pictures were great but I suspected that they wouldn't quite do it justice!
@@MattTester do you have any land rovers?
@@izakomandaz2895 I do yeah, just a bobtail Disco 1 at the moment but I've had a couple of other Discos and a Series III in the past.
@@MattTester cool! I want to get an older defender (one from about 1990) but can't afford one considering the insane prices rn!
I hope the tea service and crockery survived in the trailer.
It was shaken, not stirred!
Chaps need to learn to air down.
They were at 22psi. If we'd cleared out the carb it would have been better...
