There are shots between Enterprise and Episode 8 that break the long held idea that Turbolasers were more powerful than Phasers.
To be honest, the last trilogy is as canon to long time SW fans as Discovery or JJ universe is to Star Trek fans. The Victory class is not even in the new SW universe. To be honest, even George Lucas messed with his own timeline, since Star Destroyer designs were pretty old by the time that Episode 1 was supposed to happen. Before those movies, Star Destroyers were supposed to have been around for 100+ years at that point. Victory class was supposed to be old and predated by Dreadnoughts, which would be cool to see in a game. They used to be in the 1990's at least.
Always figured Star Trek ships were superior to Star Wars ships based on various hints in each. There was a TNG episode where an alien tried engaging the Enterprise with lasers, and Riker or someone noted that lasers couldn't even penetrate the deflector array. Over in Star Wars they shoot laser blasters and larger turbolasers. There they make the jump to lightspeed, in Star Trek full impulse power by itself is a significant percentage of the speed of light. Warp speed is faster than light.
In my mind the only possible threat to the Star Trek universe would be Death Stars, but getting a photon or quantum torpedo down the exhaust port doesn't sound impossible.
You're probably thinking about the episode Conundrum where the crew's memories were wiped and an alien posing as a human Starfleet officer named "Kieran MacDuff" and posing as the Enterprise's first officer. In fact MacDuff was a species called a Satarran and was enemy with a race called the Lysian. The Satarran's were no more advanced than the Lysian's and their weaponry was pretty much like weaponry from Star Wars ships.
I think with Star Wars the ships traveling through hyperspace is the equivalent to either transwarp (like the Borg) or quantum slip stream.
I think it's possible if a Trek ship was surrounded by an entire fleet of Star Destroyers then it could POSSIBLY be destroyed. Unless it was something like an Excelsior Refit where it had ablative armor, really good shields and up to date weaponry including quantum torpedoes. I could see Trek ships getting through the shields of a Star Wars ship very easily then beaming in a couple of torpedoes (probably quantum's if they had em') onto the bridge of the ship and take it out an disable the ship that way.
@@TrentonBennett Definitely wasn't that episode, in the one I was thinking about nobody got wasted. I remember specifically they talked to the ship that powered up its lasers. It _might've_ been that episode where one planet had the other hooked on a drug. The Enterprise rescued a couple of each off of a ship that fell apart. And some of the drug, which the addicts wanted back bad enough to threaten Picard.
Star Wars doesnt use lasers, its meant to be mostly plasma type weapons. The only time laser is mentioned is in ANH when the Xwings move so fast they were avoiding the TURBO lasers.

If you're referring to the comment that was made in Star Trek Strange New Worlds regarding plasma technology, the show about that contradicted itself with their version of "Balance of Terror in which both the original and the alternative version just how powerful plasma weapons are.
The laser type weaponry in Star Wars are not actually lasers any more than phasers are actually lasers. Phasers are combination of a particle beam and a laser while the lasers of Star Wars our combination of light and plasma energy. And it should be noted that the lasers of Star Wars are in the gigaton range.

My best friend is a huge Star Wars fan and I love Star Trek. We've obviously had this argument before on numerous occasions. I try to explain the nuanced differences between a laser or particle blaster and a phaser or disruptor to no avail. Antimatter is in a totally different category than a proton weapon or concussion missile. He doesn't care. It's a hopeless battle.

The demise of your turn with the Star Destroyer was premature - your ventral shields were depleted and they focused fire there. Had you kept that in mind and managed a roll, you might have gotten more mileage out of it ...or even prevailed.
Somehow, having a ship ram the Star Destroyer just feels familiar... with similar results 😂

Actually turbo lasers are plasma weapons. And are very powerful some say 2 gigatons to 200 gigatons per blast. But we never seen that. Yes a ISD can slag a planet surface. But so can USS ENTERPRISE NCC-1701 Kirk's ship can do same in 24hrs, General Order 24. I'm a way bigger fan of trek, but star wars capital ships are no joke but their weapons range is 5,000 to 10,000km while trek phasers are 200,000km and torpedoes are 4.5 million km. And trek wins with warp strafing etc. But we'd win abet with heavy losses. Voyager J, Galatic Empire destroyed.

BTW Gamefront has an unfinished Star Trek vs Star Wars mod that is not in the ship or other sci fi tab but in the modification's tab. It also has a short single player mission from what I remember. From what I remember it had a few ships not present in the other mods like the Nebulon-B, Bulk Freighter and Imperial Strike cruiser that were a bit more balanced with Star Trek ships (well vanilla game balance anyway). Might need to do a little fiddling if you just want the star wars ships and not the included Star Trek ships or single player changes.
Thbe "you should not fire on friendly targets" gave me PTSD to when i lost the final battle of the campain all because one of the ships helping me flew into my line of fire and accidentally got hit. the mission ended with Seska reporting me to Admiral Liu
This KitBash type Starship would definitely be a TOS Movie Variant Dreadnought... Probably about 600m maybe.

Actually it's cool to see a fleet of them take on a Star Destroyer. Sucks you lost one ship so quickly but it was cool to see hull damage on the Star Destroyer so quickly. I wasn't surprised you took out the Star Destroyer so quickly. I laughed when one of your ships rammed into the Star Destroyer. It reminded me from that part in Rogue One where a Rebel Hammerhead Corvette rammed into a Star Destroyer and had that destroyer crash into another one to take out the shield gate.
Who knows if there will ever be a cross over. MY SELF I personally feel that neither universe should be crossed. However, would be interested IF it ever happened.

The ONLY advantage Star Waries have on Star Trek is maybe the knowledge of the Force, and A couple of their own super-weapons (including the Death Star...) But high StarFleet load outs like Tri-cobalt Torpedoes, The Genesis device (aka, StarFleet reverse ◀️ engineering of the Proto-matter Torps! But were considered WMDs not in line with Federation ethics....)
Section 31 would have no qualms about turning Corouscant into a jungle planet.

Remember. The Victory class and the Imperial class possess the ability to focus their firepower either forward port or starboard. The setting selection is the same place where you switch torpedoes at on the screen.

The wings on the side of the Star Destroyer indicates a Victory class. Those wings are supposed to hose massive torpedo launchers. Those would have a great impact on a battle.
If I recall the old SW tech journals, the "wings" were maneuvering vanes for atmospheric flight (back when Star Destroyers were NOT supposed to fly inside atmosphere as a standard)

How to use a victory class star destroyer
1) slow you’re speed down.
2) keep the ship pointed at the enemy DO NOT TURN ! These ships are made for a frontal assault.
3) never keep you’re ass end pointed at the enemy you have weapons in the aft section
I really like the Jupiter class it's a really cool looking Starship I totally loved seeing the Starfleet taking out the Star Destroyer

For a Star Trek / Star Wars crossover you'd have to have intergalactic travel as Star Wars takes place in another galaxy (A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away) as well as possibly time travel to interact with Star Wars as we know it. Unless the Star Wars galaxy is approaching the Milky Way rather than getting further away due to universal expansion then crossing the void between galaxies would take a very long time- and during that time the technology of the Star Wars galaxy could not only catch up to the ships of Star Trek but also exceed it potentially, particularly if they were to embrace droid AI, which in the Expanded Universe of Star Wars seemed to be the direction they were going with androids that could pass as real. Perhaps the future generations in the Star Wars galaxy discover a way to fold space using the Force similar to how the Navigators in Dune space travel, allowing SW explorers to become intergalactic travelers...
During the Dominion War the Federation was using Explosive Warheads capable of Destroying Jem Hedra Astroid strongholds as large as 800kms !!!!! (Altriunim/Kumsite/Proto-matter)

sw ships are not in the same league as trek ships they are big but their fire power is sub par to trek tech. lasers are useless against pretty mush ant trek ship post enterprise era. the only advantage you could argue is hyperdrive is faster than warp but only because its never really been quantified how fast it is.

So unless it's weapon range is reflected in this then it is inaccurate.
If you think about the Federation Technology that each Class 6 PHOTON Torpedo is capable of being loaded with a 20 isoton Warhead...Which is the Nuclear equivalent of over 64 megatons !!!! That's miles of Destruction!!!! From one fully loaded torp!!!!
....Not including kinetic damage from warp 1/2 impacts!!!!
Some photon torps can be 200 megatons, quantums can be 500 megatons since they are zero point energy, tricobalt torps are 1.5 teratons, transphesic torps are 1 hit kill. Even the death star would be destroyed by 1-4 of them. Star has plenty of planet killing weapons that are way smaller than the death stars and star killer.

Proto-Matter Torpedoes were supposed to have similar destructive effects on unshielded targets...But because of The Federations non-military rules (unlike StarFleet's general order 24....) Weapons were usually kept in lower capable states outside the realm of true WMDs....Like "The Genesis Torpedoes..." Or other 🌎 World ending, or Solar System ending weapons.....

Just one of those Jupiter Class Starships should have trashed the SW ISDs...A Fleet of These Jupiter Class Starships (TOS KitBash Dreadnought.) Should be able to decimate a Few ISDs... Their Technology is very different...Star Trek Federation having the Adaptive Scientific technological mind set...Plus, the Military Sense of StarFleet...Most of the SW Imperial Fleets Junk was based on oversized Intimidation tactics.... Unlike the StarFleet (Powerful Tech in compact packages...Like the Defiant....) Remember TurboLasers (Disney-Minus Canon) couldn't do much damage from orbit.... Barely able to blast a 15m Crater on the surface (as seen in Rebels... Thrawns ISD Fleet in orbit couldn't even stop a lone Jedi Hero on a Swoop Bike...) of the planet...Whereas we all know ENT D had the chops to destroy the entire surface of a planet without breaking a sweat...

Victory class star destroyers are one of the weaker classes of Star destroyers.
Crazy to me that Star Trek fans willfully accept that Star Destroyers could take a fleet of Starfleet ships, let alone a single Galaxy class.
Star Destroyers dont even show alot of feats in the movies, the Millenium Falcon, an absolute trashcan tanks several shots alone.

I think Dr. Who actually does exist in Star Trek. In Enterprise the brought aboard a TARDIS like ship and in TOS Gary Seven and later Laris in Picard season 2 used what are essentially sonic screwdrivers.
