Definitely one of the most atmospheric missions in all of Ace Combat. Sure, each game gives you your ripoff D-day mission (AC5 with Lit Fuse, AC6 with Anea Landing, and AC7 gives you sort of a reverse D-day with Tyler Island), but this was the one that felt the most realistic. Erusean artillery placed far behind the lines with the beaches zeroed in, a defensive line of pillboxes and anti-ship batteries, Hind gunships making attack runs, and tanks rushing towards the beaches after the first line of defense falls... It's just so perfect especially with the soundtrack and the terrible weather.
This mission slapped me, looked me in the eyes and told me "You are going to become really good at bombing ground combatants, or you are going to quit playing Ace Combat." Thankfully i got good.
My gosh, this is MILES better than Ace Combat 7 will ever be. For one, your buddies AND the enemy sound like they’re in a fight, not like in AC7 where most characters sound like they’re having a nice relaxing cup of cocoa during each mission. And there is MILES more professionalism in this game. Love it!
They were in development hell Hopefully Project Wingman which did as awesomely as classic AC series would give AC developers some insights to make the game better

Absolutely amazing game
>Reverse D-Day
So, basically Dunkirk
The music is so incredible, not just here, but throughout most of the series
I’ve never heard allied radio say “Sierra hotel!” I’ve been playing this game since 2003

@@Dan-379 This is NATO Alphabet S - Sierra H - Hotel which means "Shit is Hot!"

Poor Unit B Commander
Deserved it for being an arsehole to be honest.
What the hell?! No! I wanted to meet him after the mission!
It's like Normandy beach landing but in the 21st Century Strangereal.
4:35 - 4:50
Does anyone else sort of hear the Phantom of the Opera theme in there?? Or is it just a happy coincidence??
Better than the ACI Bunker Shot, anyday.
Poor Unit B Commander :(

Ace combat is better in graphics, post stall maneuvers, more realistic functions/movements as well as better planes and better mechanics
Sounds like Lt. Baelz didn't make it home :(

What is the color of the sky above the clouds?
A deep, dark blue.

@@Mobius118 i was serious, i played ac04 long ago and flew over the cloud cover in the mission but forgot what it looked like

Master
Wheres the ulyses?
It had happened before this war
I'm a scary, suicidal pilot on this game. The best pilots are fuckin' nuts.
AWACS: Mobius 1, out of missiles.
Mobius 1: Sounds like someone forgot how to count. *Pitch down 30 degrees.
