I’m really not sure about these due to quality control issues. I have read forum threads about build quality on units which were not ‘review product’ and am hesitant to chose virpil because of it. The sample size maybe small and and defective units might be quite rare -> but at £400 nearly I cannot be dealing with faulty product.
6:15 Are you sure binding 22 is blank? Other reviewers have mentioned that the mouse scroll wheel has two stages to it (light push and deep push), so I wonder if that's the missing binding :)
I have dual deltas now. I love them. but I am very seriously considering getting at least one alpha when they are available without pre order. again, like everyone else. thanks for the information.
Even if i am not a person who flies a lot of spaceships and planes and preffers bulky heavy tanks instead i would buy that pair of joysticks that you have only because is has a lot of buttons and joysticks on it, i often run out of keys for the bindings in war thunder, mechwarrior online and other games, and not allways can use the key for push to talk or is not available or is already bound to another ingame action, and i dont know how do play station/xbox and other plataform players play war thunder, mechwarrior online and other games with lots of bindings with those double joystick controlls
Now the wait is even harder! But feels at the same time like I did a better choice when ordering those 😊 I am a happy citizen, and thanks noobifier for make the video
This looks like an awesome pair of sticks. A quick question to the community: Does anyone know what the practical differences are between the WarBRD and the CM502 bases? I don't own any virpil products yet and would like to know for budgeting reasons
So glad I pre-ordered these when I did. I took a chance based off your previous reviews of virpil stuff and when I looked at the design it seemed to address all the issues (issues being things I didn't like, not actual problems) that stopped me from buying the old space grip. I do hope you do a bindings video or something as that would be interesting. Now to get back to saving so I can get some Monstertech mounts..
You forgot to mention that you can also assign up to 6 shift modes via VIRPIL software. Which practically gives you 6 times as many bindings (minus 6X 2 for switching shift modes forward and back). Theoretically you can bind entire keyboard to a single alpha grip :)
Dam an analog thumb stick instead of a dpad for the hat. That is actually pretty cool as long as you can get the bindings correctly when you do need to use it as a more traditional hat. Also doing this thing has so many wheels and knobs and stuff there's hardly any regular buttons on it. I'm only used to whatever I see that would come into the thrift store I used to work at.
Two sticks to rule them all, damn these are some next level pieces of equipment. I'm not sure how they could improve on this design in terms of altering the layout.
Great vid! Any chance of seeing the Virpil controls in action with game footage? Maybe like a split screen with footage of controls on left, and in-game footage on the right (side by side). Thanks :D
You are using the ALPHA with Monstertech's WarBRD mount? On the video it looks more like their Mongoose base. I'm wondering because I'm looking for a new joystick and mount and I'm trying to find a good "build".
I have four of each gimbal. I play DCS in VR on another system. There is no worry about Good with Monstertech. They are expensive but they are the best.
This looks really interesting. It's great that the z-axis is lockable as I have no interest in it personally, but it's there for those who want it. Now I just need to deal with the thread lock that they felt was a good idea to put in the Mongoose bases on the cam screws for something that was supposed to be replaceable. To this day I do not know what they were thinking. I believe the newer bases have done away with that. The joys of being an early adopter ;). This felt negative. Minor gripes on otherwise superb products.
I've been considering buying the alphas, thank you for the review. Do you happen to have a link or video on that awesome-looking table you have everything mounted to?
I'm looking to buy one or two of the Constellation Alphas for use with star citizen. do you still use these as daily drivers for SC? Could you share your SC key bindings file perhaps? SC does not seem to have a binding out of the box present.. thx!
Another fantastic review, If I had one bit of feedback I would say what size glove you are, it's a better indication to people then saying normal size. The grip dose look amazing and the I might try and pick one up at the end of the year as I just brought a t50cm2
I am looking to buy high-end Virpil Stuff....but the whole grip thing confuses me. I just want plug and play options like my current twin T16000m sticks with HOTAS as my desk is an ancestral one and wont support things like mounts etc. A guide to Virpil products for a noob like me would be extremely helpful
Hi Noob, in your video is that the VPC MongoosT-50CM2 base you are using with the grips? I am giving up on finding a left-handed metal grip and think these Alpha's by VIRPIL might be my best option for a left hand, but I don't know which of the two bases to buy for both my warthog grip and a left hand VIRPIL Alpha.
I am trying to decide between the Virpil Alpha, and the VKB MCG Pro w/ Twist adapter. In an ideal world I would take the reliability, build quality of VKB, and the functionality of the their base, with the ergonomics/feel of the Alpha grip. Do you have any thoughts on which is the better package?
Why anyone would dislike the aesthetics is beyond me. It's bloody awesome
Must be the hyper-realistic wingnuts type who only want what's in the "real-world". smh. I agree, it's looks fantastic and ergonomic.

7:56 nice fit and finish on that Delta. I want to one day be able to afford a set of Virpil stuff.
very well made video. helped me learn a lot more about using different types of equipment I could use
Now the wait is even harder! But feels at the same time like I did a better choice when ordering those 😊 I am a happy citizen, and thanks noobifier for make the video
How tall is this thing going to be on a desk with the WarBRD Base? I want to be able to compare it to my old Sidewinder Forcefeedback 2!
Thanks Noobifier. Great review. I think this might be the pair I actually pull the trigger on.
A lot of info to consider. I look forward to getting An R-Alpha to go with my Delta.
This looks like an awesome pair of sticks. A quick question to the community: Does anyone know what the practical differences are between the WarBRD and the CM502 bases? I don't own any virpil products yet and would like to know for budgeting reasons
WarBRD is designed for desk use. 502 designed to use on a desk mount with possible extensions.
I've got an alpha and a new throttle on the way :) Can't wait to get a shipping notification.
Damn, those are nice! Someday I'll have those in my setup.
You forgot to mention that you can also assign up to 6 shift modes via VIRPIL software. Which practically gives you 6 times as many bindings (minus 6X 2 for switching shift modes forward and back). Theoretically you can bind entire keyboard to a single alpha grip :)
Great job Noob!
Great video, looks very professional.
I love the insanity. Can't wait until I get my pair! Thanks again to my wife.
They are fantastic to use
Two sticks to rule them all, damn these are some next level pieces of equipment. I'm not sure how they could improve on this design in terms of altering the layout.
All reviews should be like this, detail is key
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Would you recommend the Alpha for someone with small hands for space sims?
Ossian they fit better for small that really large
Can you do a video about what you bind to each button/hat/trigger? Your thought process and what you did for each stick and throttle you've used?
Yes
I'll get these (or newer versions) when Star Citizen officially releases
gives you at least half a decade or so to save up money... I'm planning what a decent setup would cost right now and damn.. its expensive
Minor gripes on otherwise superb products.
i still use a MSFFB2 since 15 years..... any suggestions ? i need one with twist and throttle on the left side because i have no pedals and throttle
Will you do a video going over your keybinds?
YES
@@NOOBIFIER1337 Greatly anticipating! There's so much I don't know. But enjoying the vids and my own Virpils, so yay.
How to preorder them? On their website is says 'coming soon'? Also anyone knows if Virpil sticks/bases are compatible with the Playseat Airforce? Thx!
I don't think 22 is blank, try pressing the mouse wheel even harder, most people don't realise it but even that has a dual trigger if you like! :)
You're awesome, thank you. Love Virpil
He's done it again. Great work!
I'd say it was worth the wait, but there really wasn't any to speak of.
SC does not seem to have a binding out of the box present..
thx!
Thank you for the great review!
Can do you a example video of how you bind everything?
Great breakdown. Actually makes me consider getting one.
Another fantastic review. You my boy noob!
You gotta spend close to $1500 for the Left and Right grip with the base and throttle.
Absolutely awesome review
Excellent overview! Where did you get all that mounting track you used to build out from the wall? TIA!

Thx Noobifier... These will be my Alpha & Omega controllers... 👍😎
I did a video called “choosing the right gimbal” I think... let me know if you can’t find it
I am trying to decide between the Virpil Alpha, and the VKB MCG Pro w/ Twist adapter. In an ideal world I would take the reliability, build quality of VKB, and the functionality of the their base, with the ergonomics/feel of the Alpha grip.
Do you have any thoughts on which is the better package?
