I am from Kilimanjaro, My grandparents used to tell stories of leopards. Research needs to be done. People still observe those animals.

I think many, many animals are found out of their 'normal' territories. They are, to some extent, like humans and are often curious and some strike out on their own. That is why a moose from Canada might be seen 500 miles south of its normal range in Missouri, which has happened. Just my thoughts.

It makes some sense that animals might reach higher elevations so close to the equator. The part that makes it so strange is that there doesn't seem to be much (if any) prey so close to the summit.

Ramana Maharishi lived among wild animals (including leopards) and claimed they could also seek spiritual enlightenment like humans. Maybe that was what this leopard was attempting to do?

@@amuroikimasu7488 none of the mountains you talk of exceed 13000 feet. Yes those mountains are extrodinarly high but compared to a 19,000 foot tall mountain there small. A 6000 foot difference in elevation can create more than 15°C difference in temperature. Also all the mountains you talk of have lots of greenery allowing wildlife to thrive but not in mount Kilimanjaro which is more rocky and snowcapped at the top which won't have any vegetation to sustain wildlife. I mean even we have in Sri Lanka a 7000 foot platue which has a rich biodiversity and biomass denisty containing megafauna like Sambhar deer and leopards and previously having even bison and elephants before humans extripated them.

    • @adnannaemaz1989

Humans do it for the thrill. Animals are instinct driven which focuses on preservation and most certainly doesn’t involve thrill.

@@R.Lennartz it’s called stimulation and these “fun things” have reasons behind them. Like when animals play fight it’s and indirect way of socialising and establishing a hierarchy of who is dominant . Other forms of play are to perfect hunting/escaping skills. Very rarely if at all will an animal do things because they are bored.

@@adnannaemaz1989 man, human games are also a form of socializing with different fan clubs and stuff. Action and rough sports like football or hockey or rugby are a form of domination on a different level...when players fight, hook or smash each other trying to take control etc... Boxing or other brutal fighting sports are all about human male domination and not only money, fame and all! animals are not always guided by instinct and are capable of playing just for fun or just because they like it... I've observed different animals at zoos and in the wild for several years and I know what I'm saying...

there are many examples in the wild. Hyenas resemble dogs, but they are more closely related to mongoose and cat than dog. Elephant shew's looks vs family, manities, some snakes look like worms, eels look like fish and viseversa, antelopes and deer, probably thousands of varities of insects, and plants.
