My father Rasimus born in Leeds in St Elizabeth and been driving down Spur tree Hill for 67 yrs. Died at a age of 95yrs. He never had a accident in his life time. The last time he went to St Elizabeth was 2021.he always drive in a lower level coming down this hill.You know how many people died around this corner. Drive slow and you will get to your destination safe.Speed hurt.
As a tractor trailer driver in Canada 90% of the drivers in this video do not know how to approach a corner. The driver should lock the inner lane as to prevent undertaking from other vehicles. There are more dangerous icy corners than this in Canada and if we approach it like this we will be charged.
Seeing it and experiencing the drive are 2 different things, I took that drive down that hill in a car and it was real scary, it’s not only the curves it’s also the incline, I know a lot drive crazy and take crazy chances still
If him as experienced as him say him should know the man afi take the turn wide especially such a deep corner
i understand and agree with you a 100%. When we Jamaicans comes to Canada or the USA, we quickly adopt and follow the rules
because negative actions do have consequences. However, the discipline and patience for safe driving is a major issue in Jamaica.....
overall, nice video. in my younger days, Spur tree was steeper and more dangerous corners to negotiate, and there was cows and fog early mornings or rainy days.
The corner actually has a raise on the inner side of the corner that cause cause them to roll over that’s why they make the corner like that
@***Démàní*** Even though the corner is risen and the drivers know this because of there experience with the road they should approach the corner with more caution closing the inner lane as to preventing vehicles behind them from undertaking the trailer on the corner. As seen in the video 1% of the drivers stayed in their lane while locking the corner with their trailer to prevent undertaking. The others can learn the same skill too. Driving unsafe on that road is a hazard.
4:15 The Manchester Municipal Corperation needs to put a 200 feet mirror in the center of the corner so that the incoming traffic going up Spur Tree Hill can see the big trucks coming down.
Or a big screen with cameras because most likely the mirror will get dirty

CDL class A combination vehicle must not enter into the upcoming lane. This dangerous and total madness.
Couldn't be mirror mirror reflect sunlight and could cause blurry vision to drivers

Love yu video, i travel this road daily from St Bess to Mandeville and its now full time the government stop these fully loaded trucks an trailers from coming down Spur tree hill. This road is duppy road far too many people die on it because of these trucks and trailers. Going up that hill in a car, van or jeep it is so scary you have to hold your heart in your hands with those fully loaded trucks and trailers coming down hill on you its only heavens keeping us on that road.

I am a trucker, and most of those drivers are taking the corner too wide. I know the corner has a rise and is prone to turnovers, but if you know, you know. May God have mercy on us all.

@Real Torch i travel this hill every month end to go to and from NCU; funny story torch: one time we were on a bus going back to campus and the bus was going up that same curve in the thumbnail; the bus driver stopped in the middle of the curve to give a W900 that was coming down to the same curve. The truck took the turn quick but the driver knew what he was doing but a lady and a man in the bus got scared when the truck got very close and opened the bus door and jumped out! lol spent the whole day laughing

Can't understand why some truck drivers have to take the corner so dangerously wide, while many others did a good job of sharing the road? Is there a problem with their trucks or they just can't line it up properly?
It's the length plus I think of some locks can't turn too much so they have to go wide

The left side of the road in the corner is no good it full of some big bump thts y they hv to keep far right a lot of spring break in the corner but the journey can't pick up the big bump them

Those heavy units travelling west have a responsibility to use their horns MORE to warn approaching motorists coming to that particular curve especially as they (heavy units) have to take a wide turn at that curve to make it safely down that hill. On another note, the motorist in the white SUV had a lucky break (was mighty funny) but I credit the driving skills too...
Of course, the reckless driving of some motorists who undertake/overtake at that deathtrap and contribute to the high numbers of motor vehicle accidents was also highlighted. Unfortunately...

Nothing but careless driving. Pure and simple. First how can you be speeding? How can you be taking the corner so wide and it's a blind corner? So much so that you almost run someone off the road as if you are entitled to be in their lane. Jesus wept. Their licence need to be taken away coz it look like they bought those licences.

There r more dangerous roads than this. It looks scary from the video but it has improved so much over the years. Drivers just have 2 b extremely careful.

Some of these drivers are endangering the life of other driver on this road they don't need to come over so far to the right they can go much closer to the left side and come down much slower than they are going these are tractor trailers their turn ratio is much greater than a regular truck they can drive way better in that turn

people need to protest to the Goverment to put the white mark in the middle of the road to encourge drivers to stay on there side of the road. its time to demand action from the Goverment
Why are these trucks and tracker trailers driving on this road instead of using the toll road? Is it because they don't want to pay the toll booth? And some of them don't know how to manover the trucks around the corner and the cars are speeding up and down the hill too. I am in the United States of america and my born and bred jamaican daughter trained truckers from all over the world where they come from. She trained them at a trucking school because she is a professional driver driving for over 33 three years. She even owns two of them.
