- Skip Bayless, Michael Irvin and Richard Sherman discuss whether Brock Purdy is now a legitimate MVP candidate after a dominant 42-0 win against the Dallas Cowboys. Purdy currently leads the NFL in QB rating, QBR and is second in yards per attempt and completion percentage. The San Francisco 49ers improve to 5-0 as they continue their journey to a Super Bowl victory.

You have the description of the video wrong. SF won 42-10. Not 42-0... you dolts.
What Brock Purdy is doing out here as a 262nd pick is insane. The way he’s playing and leading this team is remarkable!
Why hes doin it..brady repeat

As a Dallas fan I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a QB in complete control against a high caliber defense than Purdy was last night. It was remarkable.

Their Defense is 100% high caliber. 🤦♂️ y’all will literally say ANYTHING. Come here with some stats or something instead of being trolls fused with clowns.

Remember when B. Purdy went down in the playoffs and Joe Johnson came in and they was losing badly! You can have weapons but it's useless if you don't know how to win with them.
Brock deserves respect. It does not matter where he was drafted. His stats are incredible. 😊 Brock is playing amazing. Lots of fans across the country are rooting for him, too. Absolutely MVP. 42 points, and they pulled the starters. It would have been worse.
Facts Brady was a 6th round pick look how his carrier turned out
Reminds me of someone.... hmmm 😂 no pressure. Let brock be brock, but coming from humble draft position and going on to do great things is possible.
lol this aged well. Dude is getting exposed
The way Purdy slipped out of the pocket and jump passed that first TD to kittle was like looking at Joe Montana all over again.
Alright relax 😂
Every TD he threw was outside the pocket
Eagles fan here. It's quite refreshing and great to hear someone actually give Brock Purdy a full segment of praise & flowers. He's been unbelievable!! Definitely looks like the MVP so far!
fax, I hope Philly can smack Dallas in 3 week also.
It will be interesting to see what he can do against the Eagles Dec. 3. In 7 weeks anything can happen and things can change. Yeah it was almost like 49ers fans were being gaslit by east coast mainstream sports media that he wasn’t as good as what we were seeing with our own 2 eyes. Finally Sherman, Irvin, and Skip Bayless come out and say he plays like a top level qb.
Never thought I’d see Sherman represent and defend the 9ers with such glee.
I think he has a real grudge with the Seahawks as an organization. They catered to Russel and forgot about their defensive stars. Bennett, Thomas, Sherman… they all ended up leaving angry.
Sherm also played 4 years at Stanford, down in Palo Alto in the South Bay, so he's got some roots there as well.
Sherm is a Niner fan wanted to be drafted by then was mad Jim harbaugh passed on him
@@camiloorsini9674facts that D is the real reason they got a ring
@@camiloorsini9674that history is true, but whatever grudge was there is gone. He spends a LOT of time at VMAC (Seahawks HQ) this year, and featured a full length interview with with Pete. “If he was Trey Lance and he went no.3 overall in his draft the conversation would be completely different you would be talking about him the way they talk about Mahomes” - Richard
Michael Irvin provides valuable "attitude a player should have" insight into what it takes to be a Super Bowl winner, and I always appreciate his analysis. Richard Sherman offers an analytical perspective that bridges the gap between a fan's viewpoint and an athlete's, and his communication skills are truly impressive. I admire Sherman for this. On the other hand, Keyshawn's analysis often comes across as if he believes he knows everything and is smarter than everyone else, which can be off-putting. I find Michael and Shermans real-world perspective and inside-the-athlete's viewpoint to be more informative, making it an excellent form of communication
I think youre right about Key with regards to NBA talk but his football analysis is fine.
Yeah but skip knows even less than Keyshawn.
agreed 100% !
Didn’t they learn from TB12. He won 7 super bowls playing like this. The sports media every year said Tom was obsolete and he kept winning and winning
After he kept winning, Mahomes threw 50 TDs in his first season and people still said wait and see. We've seen all time great performances and players fall of the next year. Flacco, RG3, Foles, Hurts, Luck. It's not hard to ask for more film, I'm still out on Purdy. Is he a top 10 QB right now? Yes. I'm waiting to see two things. 1. Him comeback down double digit scores. 2. Him make a full Super Bowl push.
Agreed
@@AilmanF2Pnothing wrong with that in order to put him in the top 5 Qbs i’m curious about this next game or 2 for SF the big on is easier to get up for
@@AilmanF2PSo if a qb is good enough to not fall behind 2 scores, he could never prove his worth to you? I rather a qb not fall behind 2 scores. I rather my defense and special teams don't make major mistakes. I can live with what I'm seeing now. He is top 5 this year because his stats say it. If you want to say career top 5, that would not be fair at all to him to compare.
@@sfcSpideythey’re undefeated bruh. He hasn’t lost a game as a starter. He won two playoff games and lost bc his elbow got destroyed. It’s easy to get up for the big game?? Lol. He balls out every game.
0 interceptions. 0! He is tearing up the league, he is definitely the MVP right now (esp. since its a QB award).
CMC might disagree.
He threw the ball like 20 times a game calm down bro lol
Tua and purdy are so similar tho. Tua was off last week, but idk I think Tua still deserves being in mvp running with purdy. Tua is the brock purdy of the afc east, And I expect Tua to bounce back big. leading the league is pass yards third in passing tds, top epa etc
@@JackMcCrack10 He has thrown 2 interceptions in his last 20 TD passes. I think he knows what he is doing 🤣
@j.l.3685 for almost 300 yds and 4 tds...0 pics. He's not better than mahomes. He is top 10 now, NFC championship win would be top 5 and a SB win puts him at 2. Efficient and confident with all the support in the world. They have the best shot.
I'm a Mahomes fan and was thinking this before I even saw this video. This kid clearly understands this offense and just executes.
Tom Brady already passed the torch to Brock Brady last year when the 49ers beat Tampa Bay.
Brock Brady! 🤣 I said the same thing last year. He’s the new Tom Brady. I don’t care what they say lol
Contrast the playcalling of McCarthy and Shanahan and Shanahan was running laps around him and all other OCs in football. It’s easy to play defense when you KNOW what’s coming! Watch SF and count how many times they move BEFORE the snap. DAL has minimal presnap movement while SF literally moves players on 80-90% of plays. Double shifts, double motions…literally someone is moving before every snap and that makes it difficult for the defense to set and predict what’s next. Shanahan got Purdy on a HOF trajectory. Remember Matt Ryan was MVP under Shanahan! Should’ve won the SB. Coaching matters!
That’s a Great point.
Of course, coaching matters. Shanahan is great. At the same time, though, only a few QBs have been effective in his system. Jimmy G was absolute garbage, especially in the playoffs. People forget that this time last year, people called for Shanahan's head. Matt Ryan was already a very good QB prior to Shanahan's involvement in the offense. He definitely brought his game to a new level, but it's not like Ryan was a scrub. Andy Reid elevated many mediocre qbs, but never won an SB until Patrick Mahomes came around.
@@jacobcoppini6079Jimmy G was FAR from garbage his numbers were usually top 10ish he was good when he was on and bad when he was off. Just never learned from his mistakes and never got his footwork down.
@@SoloDoloToker He was good against subpar teams. Against good teams, he would throw picks in the red zone, fumble, and miss easy checkdowns. He was especially atrocious in the playoffs. Shanahan did elevate his game quite a bit, but any 9er fan who watched him game by game knew that the numbers didn't tell the full story.
@jacobcoppini6079 Matt Ryan was definitely a scrub, he's literally the king of choke artists. 🎨 No one turned monumental collapses into art quite like Ryan, I knew he was a choke artist early in his career too when he had this one particular game where it was 4th and goal at the 5 so he gets a qb draw and decides to slide at the 3 yard like when defenders were 10 yards away. Just goes to show that there's more to being a qb than throwing a pretty pass, just ask Branden Weeden.
“He is way better than Dak Prescott ever thought about being!” 🤣🤣 6:04
It's like somebody said in the comments: Purdy is on the 2016 Matt Ryan trajectory. I think he is playing very well with great situational awareness and top tier decision making. He keeps the ball safe from harm and goes for the throat when he sees he actually has a chance to put it up for his guys. Shanahan might've had the edge because he knows Dan Quinn well enough from Atlanta. Still, Dallas' defense is Top 5. It takes a special guy to put them through that much stress.
Boy... Dallas is ONLY great when winning from the gate.. if they get punched in the mouth.. they're finished
I both like and dislike this for one simple reason, I hope he's actually clutch like a Brady or Maholmes and not a choke artist when it matters like Matt Ryan.
Sure, the trajectory is similar but Brock won't melt under the bright lights like Matty Ice
“His QBR is 83.5 right now which is very close to what Aaron Rodgers had in 2011 in his MVP season” - Richard
If they did the 2022 NFL redraft right now Purdy easily would be the #1 overall pick, he’s that good. Think about that!
There is a thing called synergy. Things happen for a reason. Things all vs to work out and work together to get to this place. I think skipping steps changes the outcome.

@@westhoodqualzini7884 it’s funny you say that cause Joe was a system QB so was Brady. It’s about how well you run the system. Like I said I wasn’t sold on Purdy. I also thought he was just lucky to be on the Niners. The more I see the kid play I have to acknowledge that he’s good and may be great. The throws that he makes and the ability to read the defense is elite level. I’m not saying he’s elite yet I still want to see him down in the 4th with a 3rd and long. Once that happens I could put him on the elite level. That said I won’t knock him cause he hasn’t done that.
Skip tired of the cowboys losing and burrow so he’s tryna claim Purdy 😂
He started it last week lol...Skip likes Purdy
This is the most objective I’ve seen Skip be with the Cowboys against a formidable opponent like the 49ers probably ever. Had the Cowboys won though he would have been all over their nuts.
Huge props to Irving and Sherman for giving Purdy mad respect. Not everyone does that unfortunately, both have pleasantly surprised me on how good and objective they are.
Sherm said it best when he said the world is waiting for him to come back to reality, when in actuality this is real life and he's just a solid, fundamental QB who's getting more out of the players around him. Jimmy G held this team back and Brock Purdy leads the team by example on and off the field.
To me Christian McCaffrey has been their MVP, his output is consistent and his versatility opens up everything for the offense to operate
Bro.. Im not saying you're wrong, but if not for BA, Kittle, Deebo, and Purdy, CMC is seeing 8 in the box all day. It's a TEAM effort. You legitimately have to pick your poison with this team and Brock Purdy is doing his best John Stockton impression as the distributor who has HoF level fundamentals.
Love CMC but this team is not operating at the same level without Brock. You saw what happened in the NFC championship last year when Brock went down.
@@soad550thank you for this comment. How people forget about his inept play once he got hurt. That offense couldn’t do anything. Brock Purdy is that dude right now.

He’s a top 5 QB for sure in the league & likely MVP. I’m cheering for him just for his story alone. This kid is smart & super efficient & effective. He’s making a total mockery of the draft.
I’m a Raiders fan, but I totally respect the Niners and the way they’re playing. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Brock Purdy, you are the heart & soul of the team. I’ll be rooting for you.
Run CMC is the heart and soul of that team. I like Brock Purdy but he has 9 td passes while McCaffrey has 8 total yd's of his own. CMC sets Purdy up for success not the other way around

Purdy is proving what I already knew.
There needs to be a salary cap per position. Quarterbacks are overpaid.
I think the problem with that is what really defines a position. What comes to mind is Jimmy Graham and Leveon Bell. Both were used in a lot more passing that’s what normal given their positions and wanted to be paid as such. You’re only as good as what your designed to do. But I do agree, if a GM recognized that you can build a more complete team with a QB that doesn’t eat up the salary cap, you can become a dynasty with all that other talent. Ie the Patriots.
Do you know how much Purdy makes? A bit over 800k a year..
There might be a counter revolution where teams will look to build the best team possible than in the last year of their rebuild try and find a good qb on day 2 maybe even day 3. It’s risky but I think it’s easier than trying to build around a qb while he actively on the team wasting good years
Or gms need to do better and stop paying overrated qbs big money
890k is purds contact...

I've been a 49er fan for a long time and lived through the historic rivalry. Last night I watched this on amazon-peacock and their camera man in the third quarter highlighted Cowboy players' faces and for the first time I just felt bad for them. You could play "In the arms of an angel" song with the B roll from this game and have a successful go fund me account. Cowboys have a good team and can beat a lot of teams in the NFL, 49ers are just built different.
I'm a Niner fan and I'm still waiting for that "bad game" from being shell shocked by Jimmy G. I don't know if I'll ever relax with certainty after years of "almost there".

I like Sherman, his Mahomes comments made me a fan of his. He comes off pretty bright as well, has a rhythm to his words I attribute to intelligence
The 49ers' win proved one thing: the Cowboys are *WOEFULLY* overrated. Greg Cosell, the nephew of the legendary Howard Cosell (Greg has worked many years at NFL Films), noted on _The Herd with Colin Cowherd_ that Prescott is not as mobile as he used to be. As such, Prescott became extremely vulnerable to that frightening 49ers' defense.

I think the candidates rn are Tua Tyreek CMC Purdy and Watt
I’d argue Josh Allen as well tied for second in TDs, highest completion percentage of QBs in top ten in TDs, 2nd in QB rating, 5th in passer rating and the Bills currently holding a playoff spot. Interceptions might hurt him but I still think he has a strong case.
Not over purdy.
Suit clean af
Thanks for this video. I’m a 9ers fan
bUt He Is A sYsTeM qB... what qb technically isnt a system qb? brady was in his first couple seasons with bill and he kept growing. i see a similar path with purdy. "what esle do you need to see?" - richard sherman
Brock Purdy is merely a victim of where he was drafted.
This man is top 3 in every QB category. Remove Brock Purdy and put anyone else we would be talking about Hall of Fame
11-0 in starts. 23 TDs and 4 picks
5-0 9 TDs and 0 picks
30 pts a game. It's ridiculous and I really cannot take your opinion seriously if you don't rate Brock.
His strength is between his ears. His processor is different I keep telling people
God bless Purdy, absolutely love watching him and it’s a fantastic story but taking anyone over Mahomes is purely prisoner of the moment.
Is Purdy playing near perfect football? Yes. Would Mahomes improve the Niners? Of course
And the argument about never seeing a successful QB without weapons? Mahomes just won a superbowl on one leg, with one weapon (also banged up) while throwing to guys with more career tackles than receptions. Cmon man.
I wish Keshawn was on the show today so he can give another B.S excuse on why Purdy shouldn’t be in the MVP discussion
Mahomes with an elite Oline, Andy Reid, 3 stud WRs one of them the best receiver in the league and Travis Kelce was dangerously close to being held to just 10 points in the SB against a very young 49ers defense until they imploded in the last 6 minutes. Pudry just went up against one of the keagues best defenses and turned them inside out. If he gets through Cleveland and through Philly then I don't want to hear another argument about system QB ever again.
@SilverBack-xi3ln Tell me. Were you born this stupid or did you have to work on it?
Go Niners Baby!!!!!! Brock Purdy is the real deal!!
It should be pointed out that the cowboys D did a good job of stopping CMC all night. Later baker got going but run defense was solid. I think quinn overlooked Purdue and the pass game. Essentially shooting their own foot. Respect the kid 💪🏾
