That is not at all what I got from it. It sounded like sal was acting like there's no downside to weed at all, and changing the argument while claiming that's what Joe is doing. And a lot of commenters here seem to be in the same denial. Everyone knows alcohols downsides

the amount of drunk men i’ve met that i’m genuinely afraid of makes me choose weed over alcohol immediately. never met a scary, violent, abusive stoner 🤷🏻♀️
My exact thought when that video game, bong, boyfriend argument came up. There is a closer correlation to abusive people and alcohol than weed. Or at least that’s just my opinion
Joe arguing drunks aren’t loud and aggressive while being loud and aggressive 😂 Sal absolutely destroyed him this episode. Joe was jus getting super defensive about his own drinking.
Sal is 10000% correct. Alcohol is clearly more damaging and Joe spent the whole conversation being defensive. Also not every weed consumer does it everyday!!! I know a lot that reserve it for weekends only.
It is actually more damaging than alcohol. Medical marijuana that contains almost no THC and instead had CBD is even way more dangerous, cause it has found to cause damage to internal organs, especially the kidneys. The weed business has been doing their best to refute these claims, but an actual scientific study showed in 2018 that use of marijuana whether it had THC or CBD actually even made kidney function worsen at a much faster rate than now marijuana users. That ius why CBD has warnings on it about it causing kidney disease, just like cigarettes have warnings about cancer. Marijuana is also really bad for younger people whose brains have not fully developed, cause it basically stops their brains from fully developing. Edibles are dangerous as well, cause they damage the liver. Sure all the people that love marijuana are gonna defend it, but the truth is it is more damaging than alcohol, especially in edible form and oil form. I would do either, but I am also realistic and mature enough to be unbiased, and actual scientific studies show it more damaging. Not to mention it is clearly a gateway drug for a lot of people, and alcohol is not. No alcoholic trades alcohol for drugs, but people do trade weed for harder drugs. One day you are a pothead, the next you are strung out on Heroin. Alcoholics love alcohol, and no drug is gonna make them stop drinking, but yes some people do graduate from marijuana to hard drugs. No alcoholic has ever gave up drinking to shoot up, but potheads have.
@@chrisgullett4332 interesting take. I can honestly say I have never once seen any kind of kidney or liver damage warning on any CBD or THC product.. ever. I'd say weed users are more likely to experiment with psychedelics, but the "one day you're smoking weed and the next it's heroin" seems pretty extreme to me. People who are prone to addiction probably should avoid alcohol and any type of drugs in the first place. I was speaking on casual users who have self control. I do agree that it should not be consumed by anyone whose brain hasn't finished developing though.
@@chrisgullett4332 also alcohol is famous for causing liver issues, so the "weed is actually more dangerous because it damages internal organs." argument is kinda invalid.
@@chrisgullett4332 well not sure what super secret resources you have, but I can't find anything about weed causing liver or kidney damage in casual users.

Joe's idea of what a stoner is is stuck in 2006. He'd be shocked at the kinds of people that come into my store on the daily. Soccer moms, well-groomed businessmen, grandparents, etc. Regular people who look nothing at all like what he would expect.

I’ve never lost the ability to speak coherently, piss my pants, knock over a table while also simultaneously trying to start a fist fight and make out with someone from smoking weed.
Joe got offended when Sal basically called him a big drinker when he said Joe has a lot of “special occasions” and that’s why Joe spent the next ten minutes bringing up the number of times Sal had been drunk which had no bearing on the debate. He never stood a chance after getting rattled so soon.
Yeah, they definitely need to come back to this topic and ACTUALLY talk about the statistics and health benefits vs risks of weed and alcohol, and not just argue from personal experiences and get super defensive about each others habits. xD
Idk about that one tbh my dad smokes weed all the time for his pstd and I was given the opportunity to do the same and it just triggered psychosis for me. I realized after that, that my dad was always dealing with the same issue. He wouldn’t move and would be so delusional and out of it that he would just moan and groan all day instead of speak lol which made him more angry and violent because he was confused and scared
Thank you for sharing. I’m Sorry that this was your experience. Chronic use of weed, or at least regular usage of, is not good for the mind or the soul.
1. Your dad has PTSD, probably has a lot more to do with it than anything else. Are you violent when you're high? 2. Not everyone reacts the same or well to the same substance. Some people can't deal with alcohol, some can't deal with pot. I know just as many people who don't smoke because it makes them paranoid as people who can't drink because they lose control of themselves. Frankly, one of these is much worse, but thats not the point im making. 3. Smoking or drinking all the time isn't good. One of them you can stop cold turkey, one you can't. But again, thats not the point im making. I don't know you except from the few sentences you just wrote, but sounds like you're blaming a substance for the issues in your father's life when, as you said, he has PTSD. If you have mental health issues, using an inebriating substance constantly is a crutch to hide the underlying issue. Focus on the real problem and his pot abuse used to mask it probably goes away as well. Much love.

Sal was getting fired up but I was right there with him cause DeRosa was making no sense with his argument and he kept getting hung up on proving Sal drinks more than he says which even if he does that really doesn’t matter, look I was addicted to painkillers ten years ago, I’ve been an everyday weed smoker then I’ve gone periods of drinking every day...marijuana is the only drug that hasn’t damaged my life in some capacity in some way, the only thing was a possession charge when it was illegal but now it’s legal and alcohol (other than Xanax) is the ONLY drug that will kill you from the withdrawal, alcohol makes people stupid and is poison, I still currently drink and don’t even smoke right now but objectively marijuana really just is safer and has more benefits, sorry for the drawn out comment lol but DeRosa straight had me as fired up as Sal with his way of debating, it makes no sense lol best show ever!! haha
Yeah alcohol can make you stupid while you are drinking. Excessive weed smoking makes you slow, maybe not permanently, but way longer. The thing derosa said about drinkers vs smokers is true. You can balance your life fine drinking a few drinks every night. You cant say the same about the avarage weed smoker. Everyone i know that smokes weed everyday is a total fuckup. They're both fine in moderation i guess but its way more harmful to your mind smoking weed excessively long term than alcohol. Not that many cases of psychosis from alcohol either. Plus weed is for kids who doesn't know any better and alcohol i for adults tryin to relax. I, much like derosa smoked weed every day all through my teens. Then i fucking grew up
@@samiralhayid it's almost **almost** as if use vs abuse of any substance is a real thing. Using something responsibly? Everything will be fine. Excessive use? Now you have a problem.
Joe keeps proving Sal's point by saying he doesn't understand why stoners aren't as socially demonized as alcoholics. It's probably because stoners usually cause less trouble in public and therefore aren't seen as much of a threat as someone who gets wasted in public.

Alcoholic: Yells contradictions and reefer madness references and says there never been any studies on cannabis. Pothead: Shoots, edits, and runs entire social media for this podcast in addition to multiple others, never complains, and laughs on point.
Yeah I started watching these cause I’d known of Joe from O&A and Burr. To each their own and everyone deserves an opinion but Joes points were weak here. Really showed his age.
I'm a full blown alcoholic. I never really drank until last year. Beginning of last year I started smoking weed again after 12 years of not smoking. Then I started getting drug tested regularly so I started drinking. It was a couple drinks a night starting July 2020. I had to check myself into a detox program by November because I became a major alcoholic. Part of that is my fault, most of it. My life was spiraling so I started drinking to cope because I couldn't smoke anymore. Alcohol DESTROYS lives, alcoholism has destroyed many family members lives. Weed CAN negatively effect lives, but destroys a lot less compared to alcohol. My parent's smoke weed all day everyday and own 2 extremely successful businesses. Weed>Alcohol.
The glory in weed is that when you decide to stop smoking, you can and it’s no problem. When those “negative” effects on long term smokers appear, they can just as quickly disappear. But good luck drinking alcohol for 2 years straight and then stopping for any significant amount of time. There’s a reason I hear almost everyone say “I used to be a pothead but I’m not anymore” and almost never hear anyone say “I used to be an alcoholic but I’m not anymore” most people stay alcoholics. Most potheads quit.
Joe's whole "acceptance of weed" point just proves that everyone knows alcohol leads to bad situations but nobody is worried about somebody being stoned.
"i just hate the acceptance of weed vs alcohol" please Joe, tell this to the canna-moms trying to break the stigma on cannabis while you can purchase wine glasses that say 'moms sippy cup' at target. :))))
Joe usually has some pretty decent arguments but god listening to him talk about weed the way he does gives me the vibe of my dad talking my ear off about false or negative propaganda against weed.😂 Did he have a negative experience with weed? The shit joe said is 100% true tho. Not that weed always does all the bad shit he said but it totally can if you’re not smart with it and start abusing it (which happens with lots of people) but most stoners are too dumb and close minded to see that

Joe arguing drunks aren’t loud and aggressive while being loud and aggressive 😂 Sal absolutely destroyed him this episode. Joe was jus getting super defensive about his own drinking.
As he gets drunker and drunker during the episode lol
All the potheads commenting on this video sound insane
@@Bakaskies No it is very valid, cause you goofs said alcohol causes more damage, and it just doesn't.
