She played historically important role in Bajirao mastani.. only maratha empire stood against British especially peshwas but were beaten.. Shanivar Vaada was literally burnt down by British.. it should have been mentioned along with Barfi n fashion also.. no matter how cliche the story was it was a woman centric film.

Because in the movie she hits her lowest point/ moment of realisation after sleeping with a black man. Not something her present PC(politically correct)self would want to be associated with.
How did they not include Bajirao Mastani? That movie is a masterpiece, and Priyanka was incredible in it. The female lead was Deepika, and Priyanka found a way to play her role perfectly in a way that stole the spotlight in the scenes when the plot needed it but still left room for the main story to happen. Being able to complement the female lead so well is a talent I have not seen many actresses excel at. Just watch the music number Deevani Mastani and the way Priyanka can make her character convey so many feelings and emotions with just her eyes while trying to maintain her face stoic is just incredible.
I really admire how articulate and clear-minded she is.
However, not including 7 khoon maaf or Barfi was a bit of a bummer. In my opinion, those films really tested her abilities and she delivered it.

Clearly made for the American audience. Mentioning Aitraaz and Mary Kom was crucial, but without a Barrfi or a Saat Khoon Maaf, Priyanka Chopra would be a lesser actor. Anyone who has seen these movies would agree. Those two are among the best performances of this century by a leading lady.

I still think her best role till date was Kashibai. Though that movie was about Bajirao Mastani but every scene she was in, it was breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time. I feel in my opinion it was even better than Barfi. It was truly once in a lifetime performance.

When priyanka acted in bollywood the industry was much regressive. Nowadays bollywood, Tamil South indian film industry has changed and has been changing a lot. There is difference of subjects, there r women centric roles being written for commercial cinema. Fashion was criticized for being extremely racist and in the beginning of this interview she even says she regrets some of the roles she took and that was one of them. Did you see the movie? Quickly, she’s starting out as a model and sees all the highs and lows of the industry through her experiences and one of her lowest moments as the character was being so high she slept with a black man, that was supposedly her biggest downfall for her to change her ways.
A lot of people argued that she was just disappointed that it was a one night stand but in reality if you see the trends with Indian movies and even shows you’d see the darker one is always the bad guy or the darker one is always the ugly girl. Bollywood has come a long way since those movies but we cannot deny that the racism and colorism existed. Another criticism of hers was signing up for ads that promote light skin is pretty and dark is ugly message. She said in an interview that she didn’t do those ads but if you go on RUclips they exist! Please do your research
