Hey Uncle Larry, as a kid who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area scene in the early 80s, this was what we did all day long; try to emulate the right hand of Hetfield, Kerry King, Gary Holt etc...
Looking at Marshalls playing through that lens, I have to say he has a killer right hand already. He should definitely hit up Kill em All and show no mercy, then move on to Ride the Lightning and of course, the right hand heavy metal guitar handbook, Master of Puppets

( It also wouldn't hurt to give him a GE-7 EQ to mess with either, and the Boss Metal Zone has killer EQ control options for 'Chugging' It's key to learn how to cut/boost in the mids (Hetfield used a mesa/boogie Mk II c + starting with Ride...BTW

It’s so rewarding to see your kids have passion for something not digital. This is such a cool thing as a Dad to witness. I’ve got a 13 year old daughter that has talent but she’s into singing, but guitar is something that is coming way easier for her than it was for me! I want her to learn all a lot now so she can retain it with that young fast mind. Very grateful for your channel and wisdom Uncle Larry!

I did the same damn thing growing up. Riffing out for hours, it's like meditating and probably similar benefits. You get in the zone with the whole band playing along in your head when you're locked in. I can tell he's feeling it and that's what it's all about kids.
