The thing is, I kind of understand why they went with 8 songs, they want us to appreciate all the messages and depth each song has. THE ALBUM is a masterpiece. It transcends beyond the line that distinguishes KPOP to GLOBAL tracks. It’s the perfect mix of both. It is KPOP in a sense that they have it in their roots but they leveled it where everyone can appreciate them by not labeling them as a KPOP girl group. They are just BLACKPINK. I am in love with this, I haven’t had this experience where I love all the songs from the album of a group or even any western artist, not since Taylor Swift dropped SPEAK NOW album. Like legit that was my shit and this is now my shit. Mind you I was a hard stan of BIGBANG but even their MADE album (which is monumental btw) did not make me feel this way. I could go on with THE ALBUM for days. That’s how hauntingly beautiful it is.

The thing is, I kind of understand why they went with 8 songs, they want us to appreciate all the messages and depth each song has. THE ALBUM is a masterpiece. It transcends beyond the line that distinguishes KPOP to GLOBAL tracks. It’s the perfect mix of both. It is KPOP in a sense that they have it in their roots but they leveled it where everyone can appreciate them by not labeling them as a KPOP girl group. They are just BLACKPINK. I am in love with this, I haven’t had this experience where I love all the songs from the album of a group or even any western artist, not since Taylor Swift dropped SPEAK NOW album. Like legit that was my shit and this is now my shit. Mind you I was a hard stan of BIGBANG but even their MADE album (which is monumental btw) did not make me feel this way.
I could go on with THE ALBUM for days. That’s how hauntingly beautiful it is.
