At certain parts when you were assembling it, it clicked with me what the glittery latex looked like, my dad used to fish a lot and he had these super pretty silicone glitter lures! I used to love playing with them, except for the part where I inevitably got poked with the hook.
Oooooh an elemental mermaid series??! *squee*!! Yes please!!! I know they will all turn out so gorgeous as always! I love this fire mermaid 🧜♀️ so so so pretty :) :)
I love videos like these!! I would always try to make my folks into mermaids with fabric, so this is REALLY satisfying to watch! It also reminds me of the movie "Splash"!
She is amazing - I love the colours and design. I now need to source latex.... I was wondering if there is any way to make it removable (I am assuming that tail will stick like anything to the doll and it will get damaged on removal and be almost impossible to "slide" onto a new doll - are these assumptions correct?) Maybe wraping her in kitchen film or a condom or something before attaching the tail? Maybe even a large balloon or something??? Please let me know your thoughts - a crative brain is needed for a creative solution :)
I tried doing the kitchen film and tape technique to make a dress pattern, but when I cut the pattern, layers of kitchen film kept pealing off, so much so that the pattern was close to unusable. Any advice to fix this?
My daughter and I are really excited by this project and I am looking into the latex right now. It looks as if a lot of it is sold for Halloween costume makeup effects...is this the right stuff? So looking forward to the repaint! I agree with the others who said that a dragon look would be really cool for her.
Christie B The Fx (makeup) liquid latex will work just fine, just be careful. The department store stuff isn't very good, and you might think that it's okay, because it cheaper. However I've noticed that the name brand stuff can actually be cheaper, and of course make sure you rad reviews before purchasing.
Christie B no problem, I mess around in the Fx makeup, and figured I could help. And the difference between the department store stuff and the things you can find online can be pretty drastic. If you want some more info, the channel Glam and gore has a makeup starter kit video, during the liquid latex part she tell you the brand she uses and how liquid latex should be priced, so you know if what you're paying is overpriced or not.
- Danielle the reason she used the latex to seal it is because it's not water based, and is quite durable. A lot of midge podge are water based, so it you put it in water, the gitter has a higher chance of flaking off.
Where did you bay that awsome square glitter.? Its really pretty. If you have bought it in a local store in denmark, please share, because i live in denmark. 🙂🙂 Ps i love love love your videos. You are so creative.
Becca 101 yes, just don't put it in water that's too hot, or it will fall apart. It's best to keep it out of water but if you are going to put it in water, make sure it isn't too hot
Nicole Lane latex should be completely fine in water, the only thing I can see happening, is a little getting loose over time and falling off. But it shouldn't be a ton of glitter, anything that you make with glitter has a little fallout. And with the layer of latex over the gitter, it should be almost nothing.

It always made me sad when they'd rip.
I love the fire colors! It makes me think she's a volcanic mermaid. The latex looks so good.
Thanks for the lovely tutorial, one of my Lagoona dolls in my stock box has a broken leg on one side so this is a great fix up to her body

Beautiful work, I always love watching your videos even though I don't make doll or change them. It's just soothing and nice to watch :3
I luv your custom dolls so much I want to buy all of them. Your so awesome!
This turned out so beautiful! Definitely going to to give it a try. Great job!
Looks great, I can see using some white glitter in this to do a variation for a Koi Fish/mermaid tail.
I love videos like these!! I would always try to make my folks into mermaids with fabric, so this is REALLY satisfying to watch! It also reminds me of the movie "Splash"!
A fire mermaid is actually a cool idea
Can you take the tail off the doll and put it on again?
This is genius!!!
I was wondering if this tail is removable
Would you ever consider making Overwatch dolls? I would love to know how to make my own dva or widowmaker doll!
Will you make an elemental mermaid line like you did with the fairies? I would really like to see that
Definitely the mermaid tail I’ve ever seen :0
omg my daughter would love that i am making one for her thanks for the share
there are fire mermaids but they use whats called "Greek fire" its green and can burn anything above or under water
i love that she’s a fire mermaid

She’s a mermaid from a lava lake!

could the glitter be sealed in with modge podge instead of latex or would that make the tail less flexible?
JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!❤❤❤❤
sun mermaid tail cool
Thank you! I like this idea. I've been wanting the liquid latex for some wired, poseable wings, so I can try this project at the same time!
She has a video for that!

Does the latex stay tacky? I have two cats (one with long hair) and I'd be worried about the tail (or wings) picking up hair.
Adding talcum powder (aka baby powder) should remove the tackiness.
the fire mermaid should at least look kinda dragon like and have a back fin with arm fins
You really make me want to experiment with liquid latex!
Flaming nice!
I love you're videos💜 You're so creativ!!!! That's amazing💙💜
Defenetly gonna try this out😍😍
Luna Read same
Who else can smell the latex through the screen?
Is it possible to add wire in the fin parts so they can hold poses??
Yes :) I did something simular in a video to make poseable devil wings ^^
That is really cool! Are you gonna repaint that doll?
can we put it in the water after ??
I wish I had seen this a few hours ago when I was at my local Panduro! I always forget why I need it until I see another video you use it in...
Does it have to be latex to seal it in? Wouldn't Mod podge work as well?
Jace Elliott mode podge can be water based, while latex is not. Latex is also much more flexible and durible, so it keeps the glitter sealed better.
Amazing dear!!! I am Loving it so much!!!
Use Modge Podge to seal it, there’s glossy stuff that won’t dull the glitter.
- Danielle the reason she used the latex to seal it is because it's not water based, and is quite durable. A lot of midge podge are water based, so it you put it in water, the gitter has a higher chance of flaking off.
so pretty
Nice! Will be trying it out!!❤
Wow
I feel like the repaint need to be like a fire mermaid with long red hair and a lot of golden jewerly😉😉
Why did you use an opaque latex this time instead of one that dries clear?
Where did you bay that awsome square glitter.?
Its really pretty.
If you have bought it in a local store in denmark, please share, because i live in denmark. 🙂🙂

Is it removable?
Alberto Jarillo I believe so, just be careful not to rip it. :3
Is it waterproof??
Becca 101 yes, just don't put it in water that's too hot, or it will fall apart. It's best to keep it out of water but if you are going to put it in water, make sure it isn't too hot
Can we take it off after?

🤦🏼♀️
Where can you buy latex from?
Andrei Popescu internet, Party City, the pop up Halloween stores that’ll be showing up soon.
Andrei Popescu it's best to buy it online, the stuff in party store isn't good quality.
Cool !!! )))
Miraculous lady bug doll
Yes! Because I was going to buy the ones they made but read reviews saying they fell apart easily! They didn't look quite right either.
