Gregory Stewart Lake (10 November 1947 - 7 December 2016) was an English bassist, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He gained prominence as a founding member of the progressive rock bands King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP).

Wow many thanks Paul for doing this we love Greg kake, such a great guy especially in ELP.
Problem is that find a grave says still burial details unknown.
I fulfilled a 7 year journey today.
We are in Northern France and today I became my Great Grandfather's first ever family visitor at his grave in The Somme.
It was more poignant given that it's nearly Christmas.
Was proud to lay a Wreath on his grave but it was so emotional too.
I feel so much better about Christmas now that I've honoured him.

I’m a fan of lake and palmer, I love their music , I often wondered where Greg was buried , and I’m glad you found it , I think ile pay a visit to it in the summer , to show my respects . Thanks Paul , this was a real treat for Christmas .

In my opnion the greatest christmas song ever written.
My musical hero his voice was imo the greatest in prog rock beautiful acoustic player yet intricate bass player and talented producer for ELP. Very proud to have met him and a lovely man to his fans. His Xmas song is the most impressive powerful of all time and will be heard and loved forever by each new generation. Love you Greg thank u for making my youth so much more interesting with ELP

I lived in Poole for 15 years working for a stone mason / funeral director Anthony Ives , I’ve been in that cemetery many times installing grave landings so know it well close to the boat yard Lilliput , later did work at lakes house think it was a mill in its day just out of Wimborne , I know drip and Andy summers were from there as worked at Compton Acres where Andy summers sister worked , lots of memories as now back in Devon living , Greg’s farther Christmas song was to me the best of all , 👍

If this song came out a year before or a year later it would have got to number one in the charts. It is a pity it came out the year it did. It certainly deserved number 1 spot. I preferred this song to queen's B R.

This is categorically NOT Gregs resting place,i have been visiting his grave since he passed in 2016.I stumbled across it purely by accident in early 2017,he now has a memorial stone after 8 years,its recently been erected.
You will need to do another video for this one Paul.Get in touch,i can let you know where Greg rests.

Ty!❤ I’m 58, played in a band, female trio and elp helped me to learn music. After years of loving different bands and genres, I realized elp were my absolute favorite. They are an acquired taste. With the jazz and classical influences. Underrated in the rock hall of fame. Ty so much for taking this old lady to Keith and Greg’s resting place. I really miss those too.

Hi Paul Greg had a house built in Banks Road Sandbanks Poole overlooking Poole Harbour the house is still there and has recently been renovated. It was just down the road from the house John Lennon bought for his Aunt Mimi who bought John up. Have a great Xmas and thank you for all your videos 👍😎

Hi Paul I grew up with ELP and we still sell their albums in the record shop I work in in fact we have Pictures At An exhibition in the window at the moment Im now selling ELP to a generation of kids who were not born in the Seventies such is the brilliance of their music Im sure both Greg and Keith would love that I find it ironic that everybody regards Greg`s christmas song as a pop classic as it was indeed as he stated an anti Christmas track and a social comment on how christmas was so commercial and had lost its meaning
Indeed the last line he sings is "The Christmas you get you deserve" Despite that it is a brilliant record God bless you Greg not just for ELP but for your fantastic vocals with King Crimson Once again Paul another superb video paying respects to one of my heroes

It does happen a lot when children are buried or cremated with out a mention on the headstone. It happened to my mother's Friend who was buried with her mother with no name added. Really sad though as nobody should be forgotten. A very moving video for the time of the year. Happy Christmas everyone.
Same with my twin sister , she died about ten mins after we were born and she’s buried with my dads Nan …not on headstone :( x
I think with celebrities it could be so the grave doesn't get damaged or anything stolen off it. Other reasons could be no room. We couldn't add my Mums name to the headstone where her Dad, Mum and baby sister are but we did get a grave vase engraved instead

Remember ELP very well and Greg recording this Christmas song in 1975..I remember buying the single.. as you alluded to it's more about his dislike of the commercialisation of Christmas and the loss of it's true meaning and that is nearly 50 years ago...
As for his interment, possibly / probably with his parents but not sure, only his family will know for sure or maybe Carl Palmer..
