Just got the Wessex and Upstairs Downstairs expansions in the mail. Have everything sleeved and was able to pack it nicely. It’s a dream! Thanks for the great game.
If you have all the expansions but still just want to play the base games, can you still play with any of the six families? Or do you need to stick to the 4 first ones?
Brilliant! I've been anticipating owning this game for over a year now. It appears well worth the wait instead of picking up a used copy of the 1st edition!
Really appreciate the video, helped me to pack my copy away nicely. I need to get more tidying band for the cards as just using sandwich bags for the moment
I’m looking forward for my copy to arrive. I really appreciate the email and resources you included in it. Also, hearing how proud you are of the game makes me even more excited to play.
Another in a growing list of Thank You's from me. I just tried to pack my stuff in the box (all promos and expansions and failed. This video did the trick.
Thank you for this video! Only have base and Wessex but this helped me store things MUCH better. Especially the Organizational things and player boards. Now my boxtop sits... almost snug. A few more tweaks will get it right (I really want to keep all the tiles in the bag between plays, except for monuments obviously)
Wow indeed! I know game designers spending weeks to came out with a box that can fit all the components and didn't make it such a great job like you did! Excellent work Dan!
Hey Dan, just wanted to give you an update on how I reboxed my sleeved cards game. First note that if you use Mayday Premiums, the box will lift slightly. I tried. I then changed to the slightly thinner Sleeve Kings sleeves and it was a better compromise and the box fits perfect. First just like you, I fill the family boxes with the appropriate tiles, servants, and help cards and family cards. Next the Wessex Box I fill with the family board. Next the Useful Box I fill with the solitaire cards, duplicate gentry cards, all extra player help cards, builder's market board extension which is not used, 1 set of objective cards that I don't use (from base game), the larger sized VP and courtship cards, the duplicate building tiles, sleeved promotional gentry cards. Any knick knacks leftover. Unless otherwise indicated, all cards I kept unsleeved to save space. Note any extra cloth bags I took out of the box as there is no space. (Since I am not planning to play solo, I didn't sleeve my solitaire cards, but if you do play Solo, you can probably sleeve it and put it in this box or even with the rest of the gentry cards in the big blue box. Next the first big blue box I fill with the tile and the objectives deck, sleeved with Sleeve Kings 43x65mm. Then put all the building times in the box.. it should just fit all perfectly. Next the other big blue Box, I fill with all of the Gentry cards sleeved with Sleeve Kings 56x87mm. (You can also use Mayday premiums but this will make the box bulge a little. 2 stacks on the box.. Then on the empty end I put the small VP and courship cards which I place inside a small zip bag. Then all the servants I put in the smaller cloth bag and put it the remaining available space on this box. I put the Useful Box and Wessex Box at the bottom of the box.. then on one side the 6 family box, the other side the 2 big blue boxes, and in the middle I put 4 organizers. I put the 5th organizer on the left/right end of the box. The coins I put in a zip bag and I slip it into the space available between the two big blue boxes. I put the score pad, cloth bag, and smaller instructions on the side with the family boxes and that will bring it flush with the big boxes. Then on top goes the bigger game boards and instruction book. Hope this helps. For this project you will need 1 pack Sleeve Kings 43x65mm sleeves and 2 packs Sleeve Kings 56x87mm sleeves.
By the way, can you help to let us know of all the promotional gentry cards, which you can recommend to go into the main deck. And which ones are too unbalanced and should not be used on every game. You mentioned that you will discuss this in one of your future videos but I did not see the video that does go into detail about the promotional cards.. or maybe I missed it.??

No, the 2nd edition base game. I did not send those to you for your upgrade because they would not fit in your 1st edition box, but the family boxes do.
I just ordered the 2nd edition of Obsession with all the expansions on Amazon because of 3 videos - this one (I was afraid all the expansions wouldn't fit in one box and how it would all be organized freaked out my OCD, pleased that it all fits nice and neat), the awesome review from @thinkerthemer (my new RUclips gem), and the 2 player play through with @antlabgames (excellent play through as always). Can't wait to play this game and teach my mom. She loves Downton Abby! Thank you for making such a thematic euro!

I can't seem to get my organizers to fit in between the house boxes and the purple boxes. Four is the limit. Five seems impossible without scuffing the strips. Ideas?
I haven't had this issue, and I tested it quite a bit. Are you sure the purple boxes are oriented in the right direction? They are not perfect squares...the two diamond symbols have to be close to each other (see ruclips.net/video/4lTvQ7iw52g/видео.html). If they aren't aligned, then it might not fit!
I'm in the same situation, 4 fits, but not the fifth. It's the Wessex box that's the issue, not the purple boxes. It's easy to fit the fifth divider on the side in the other direction though, so it's really not an issue...
@@niklasdahlen5921 I did not design the organisers to fit in the gap WITH the Wessex expansion. I designed it without. Because some folks asked, I tried mine with and it worked, but that was luck. I should have made this clear in the video.

I do not believe the cards will be an issue. I did not use a good portion of the shelf space, which is where the meeples (in the bag) and coins could go. The tile bag could tuck nicely on one side of the boxes (between the boxes and the right edge of the main box). That leaves a whole purple box for cards; in the video, the cards take up less than 1/2 of that space. If sleeving doubles the volume of the cards, it will still comfortably fit. The tiles will be trickier, and I think that the tile sleevers will have to probably use the family storage boxes--which have a lot of unused space--for holding tiles.
Apologize for the delay, I was on vacation. I never made metal coins. The ones you'll see in my videos are Nanty Narking coins, which are the perfect coins for the game, so I didn't tackle that project. You should be able to find them online.

Sleeved cards will fit. I think there will be a question of fit for those sleeving tiles. I have no doubt the cards will fit all comfortably in one purple box (the coins and meeple bag would get moved to the shelf), but sleeved tiles may not stand up in the purple box. I have never seen a sleeved tile, so I wasn't able to test that. I am confident, though, that there's enough room OVERALL for both. The one concession a tile/card sleever might have to make is to use the family boxes for storage (rather than family setup). There is a lot of room that goes unused in those boxes.
