Beautiful... I imagine the trees can act like a wind break for the homes. Perhaps they will plant more. Like in the Swiss Alps, the windows in the houses are smaller...to keep out the cold from the wind. Thanks for the post. PS: and a very beautiful church.
Kirkjufell was the first place that caught my attention back then when I knew almost nothing about Iceland. You know these pictures with waterfalls in the front and northern lights crowning the mountain. 😉 Interesting to see the other, less photographed side of Kirkjufell which is also very impressive. Grundarfjördur looks so peaceful, quiet and far away from most troubles. 💙

I spent two days here two years ago with my girlfriend, what an amazing and lovely place! We stayed in the Stöð guesthouse, and the view of the Kirkjufell from there was so great!

I do have a question that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the video, but how are most homes and businesses heated in the winter, geothermal, electric, natural gas? Keep the great videos coming. I'll be looking for you and Nina.
