I like how people say you need professionals to teach you or piano classes to learn how to play.
You really don't. You can learn piano by yourself. Heck, I learned by myself. You just need a piano, that's it. The notes? Well, I play the violin and learned the notes from the there (had to for school). I play it by hearing, mostly. You only need practice and practice and you'll get the hang of it. It will actually take less time and cost less than having classes. You don't know how to play by hearing and don't want to learn? Well, I guess you just need to look online or something. It's not really hard to learn how to read music, trust me.

***** I didn't either. I started playing piano first, and then other instruments. You basically kinda gave up on trying to learn by yourself. Of course it will be difficult, we knew nothing. But I played daily, daily, daily, hourly until I can get the hang of it. Practice always works. I still do. We are all humans and we all have the same potential. You don't really have to, you just want to. The same way I didn't have to learn by myself, but I wanted to.
I don't play piano (Yet) But I learned my favorite songs on flute. It's not hard to make music come out of instruments. I even told my mom "When we get piano I don't want lessons, I want to learn for myself." And she understood.
no, learning piano is not only playing song and read note, you need to know how you sit, positioning your hand, how you move your hand,etc. thats if you want to be professional pianist. if you can only play song and read note, you just an amateur. plus, playing piano can increase you IQ. dont hate, i just saying facts, peace :)
rahin syihabudin abrar I understand that much, I still want to discover for myself how to play. In fact, my grandmother did teach me the proper way to sit and position my hands years ago, I'll see if she can help again so I can understand it. I think I should discover for myself because it would be easier to teach myself at my own pace then have someone else teach me at the pace they think I should have.

It is kind of tricky to play right hand chords and right hand melody at the same time but I got the hang of it fairly quick.
Now I can see why my mother liked this song. It's awesome, cool, expressive........Coldplay, you rock! Have more of these, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have piano hands and can stretch a bit over an octave, but my hands slip off the keys a lot accidently
Practice doing scales in octaves. Octaves are not difficult when you've had sufficient practice. It may take a while but eventually you'll find them easy.

Finding your sheet music for VLV really has change my life. My piano playing has come on in leaps and bounds, I cannot thank you enough.
I was first inspired by several of Katherine C's compositions but I was frustrated because I could not get sheet music for her music.
My favourites of hers are Coldplay's "In my place" , and Adele's "Set Fire to the rain" and Skyfall - all absolutely brilliant versions.
If you could transcribe one of those pieces I would be over the moon with excitement.

One of my big goals is going to play this song on one of my favourite concerts,- one of the coldplay concerts.I work 2 hours a day and even though I only have piano experience from +1 year,I can play it till 1 minute already :D maybe not much for an expert,but I'm proud of myself.I'll learn it,ad I'll play it,infront of one of my favoritest singers

+ Zach May, idk if you're gonna see this but here's some advice.
My hands are small too but there's some stretches that help. Put your hands together flat, fingers spread and bend each parallel one individually. As if you were touching a mirror and your finger went through. Do that left and right, then move onto the index finger and so on.
This is 110% of the original song (speed)
My hands can't play 2 different tempos... I know how to play the intro because friend taught me, but after 14 seconds I can't do the alternating stuff...
Well not really different tempos, but the right hand is off beat (eight tests!)

The program itself is a tutorial. You can learn music without even reading sheet music. it shows you exactly where to press, and how long.
Giving out a tutorial doesn't always mean having someone do a 30 minute speech.
