  • This super cheap Mercedes SLK350 will be the end of me. I've had the car for years and it's fought me every step of the way during the restoration. In this video, I'll show you Mercedes SLK350 fender replacement and Mercedes SLK350 bumper replacement. I'll also show you bumper repair so you can fix any issues with your bumper. I'll show you how to paint a bumper and put it on a car. Plus, I'll show you how to replace a fender.

Mike, I knew you were not going to let this go. However, since most of the vehicle is still good and it's getting increasingly rarer on the roads today, I really hope you do find a good powertrain for this. Do remember that not all ECU and TCM will match up so make sure the programming is done properly or this will truly be the 'Kaput Benz'. 😅

The gaps around the front Mercedes star logo grill look huge. It's the wrong bumper and will never fit properly. They changed the hood. This is confirmed by the fog lights not fitting. Your car is a newer model than the parts car. Its post facelift (2008-2011), the parts car is pre facelift (2004-2008). Hope this helps.
Edit: Your SLK is a bit of a Frankenstein car. The hood is definitely post 2008. You can tell by the vents. But the wing mirrors are pre facelift 2004. So who knows what you've got! LOL

My folks still have mom’s old 2002 E320 wagon, which they put maybe 1,000 miles on per year. It’s referred to as “the truck” and is pulled out pretty much just for hauling duties. Any other driving is done with the Volt, which is charged off of the solar panels on their roof, rarely needing gasoline.

Fiberglass cloth and epoxy on the inside of the bumper, then body filler on the outside. Getting the pieces in position will be the hard part, but that’s what the zip ties are for, to be removed after the epoxy sets (well, as much of them as can be removed). This is what I did when rebuilding a one-piece bumper cover for my old VW Vanagon ages ago.
