Those 5 dislikes weren't happy you threw away the enemy.
I wasn't happy but I still put a like
What do you mean? There’s no dislikes on this video!

this is really cool dude
Thanks man! I Just watching your video where you do pixel art for random twitch streamers. MAN you work fast, and they're always so good!
Agree!
Mort! I didn't expect you here! I met you and Robert a long time ago, and I helped you both in different ways (with the video editing and with the gogogo translation), and when I saw the first devlog the first thing I thought was "this would be really cool for Mort to see" hahaha. Good to see you here ^^
woah MORT MORT! thanks for teaching me pixelart dude
Hi Mort👍❤🙋♂️
I wasn't too excited about the movement in this game, it seeming more and more like a mario clone. But that wall roll seems quite unique and very interested, and now I can't wait to play around with it in the demo :D great work I'm excited to see where this project leads
I love that you spent time to make a bin model just for one joke!
i came here 3 months ago and this got recommended again so i decided to see your new videos... but
yah me to
I hope he continues this. It really looks like a promising game
let's goooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
This game could really benefit from toon or cel shading, because not only does it really fit the artstyle of the game, but it would also set it apart from other 3D platformers!
cel shading is good but toon shading is in every platformer ever. Mario, hat in time, yooka laylee all are toon shaded.
@@yashkaushik6116 what? I played mario odyssey and a hat in time, and they aren't toon shaded. Are yoy thinking of something else?
I think there should be a visual indicator of the angle the character goes up the wall!
It should probably be a setting you could turn off/on
@agastya nadellai know
Ayy your midair dive got added
@@forenta2061 its my favorite 3d platformer move.
I like the wall roll mechanic! You get to keep that important platforming wall cling while also getting the potential benefits of a short wall run - very cool!
One challenge you could try is adding as much juice/game feel to an uninteresting mechanic or task as possible to make it exciting/fun, i.e. camera shake, particle effects, sound effects, animation, and the like.
Also I completely get the discord time commitment thing XD Just answering a few comments or questions can take me ages - I don't know how other people manage it!
Me: "Ohh so the enemy will have something to do with a bin? That's odd but okay!"
*temporarily deletes enemy*
Oh. Okay😂
yeah, I was thinking the enemy would come out of the bin to shoot the player, because if the enemy is elevated, then you could see his eyes
@@gdb5549 that would be cool. maybe the “big bad king” that he talked about last episode would’ve been the world’s last human, who went power hungry, and now the robots have no idea what to do with the other man-made things like toilets, houses, or trash cans.
THIS DEVELOPING IS INCREDIBLY MORE THAN I COULD DO IN A LIFETIME!!!!!
dude just practice
Bro, just practice
@@josephmh0480 I couldn’t even grammar right back then lol
Anyway, I’ve moved on from game dev and more into animation and art, which I enjoy much more.
holy shit are you the flash of developers its only been a 2 weeks since the first vid and if you consider editing time (ur editing is incredible) u like superdev or something
This happens to me too. I overwork on the first week or two, then slow down. But it's fine. Take your time
@@oofbychips1809 lol me either
I’m still hyped for the next dev log. How have the past 2-3 months been?
Goddd i would love to see some way of upgrades you could get in different locations, things like jets for a short hover, different arms to access unreachable places in past locations, etc. Would really make for a cool reward + help with the "replayability". Love this little guy, keep up the good work! 🤍
you deserve all this support man! You are one of the people who inspired me to make my own game and dev logs, thank you!
That enemy is so cute and cool! please use him some how!
These devlogs are so amazing, as a gamedev, seeing you take on an idea so immense like this and actually make good progress is amazing.
Why is this guy so underrated I can’t stop watching his videos I hope he gets a lot more popular and doesn’t stop uploading ;D
I have been LOVING these dev logs. Can't wait to see where this goes :)
I just love the style of the character, so cute your progress is also very nice! I am excited to see more
This DevLog series is getting my motivation back to work on my game. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏻
looks great, and also tried out your gogogo game and its awesome. love playing it with the wife and kids
Thanks so much for checking it out, that's awesome!
I like that you're really focusing on making the character movement feel really really good. It's probably the most important aspect to get right for your game. Keep up the good work, can't wait to see this game evolve :D
This looks really satisfying to play. Really hope to see more :D
Can't believe how you turned a boring capsule into a vibrant robot, so cute and full of life, even tho I find its character design not as strong as some of the examples you show in the first video. I hope to see it evolve for the better! And the ledge grabbing trick is just so clever and elegant, I wonder if other games work like that as well.
Speedrunners are gonna love this controller
I love the long jump fly bug, he‘s flapping his lil arms
Keep up the good work man
I have an idea for you, remember that crab guy? Put him out and scale him. There, a boss fight! Maybe he will rocket jump with the cannon and you have to look for the shadows to avoid him. after three times, he will probably stun himself so it will give the player a chance to defeat him. If you can, the cannon bullet-thing will summon some of the smaller version of crab cannon instead of a big explosion. Maybe, just maybe,
recreate the original mario bros from memory for a challenge lol
That's an amazing idea! Or any game from memory for that matter, holy cow that's good!
I'm glad I found this channel! This is the most entertaining and well thought out devlog I've watched on RUclips! I really can't wait for Devlog #4 and I can't wait to play this game in the future!
Waiting for that episode four. I have only been able to binge watch 3 episodes and that makes me kind of sad because this is really interesting. Can't wait to buy this when it comes out (or at least as soon as I can when it comes out). Keep up the great work my guy.
The best part about this game so far is that diving onto a wall is actually worthwhile and kind of overpowered compared to Mario's bonk.
So keep it please and thank you.
Your channel growth is well deserved. These videos area really great to watch and you've clearly got a fantastic set of character controls. It'll be cool to see how you'll be able to expand levels with that wall dive ability.
I love the editing style of the videos, and the way you explain the process is very clear an concise, I love watching this so far and I cant wait to play even a demo! Keep up the good work!
Something I would like to see in these devlogs is more of showing the code
Placing the cannon bug on high platforms will allow their character design to be seen, also emulates how cannons were used in the past, via hilltops, high ships, or towers.
Man this game is looking good! I have always loved programming as a hobby, so I am planning to start a little game of my own! Watching all of these amazing videos has given me a bunch of confidence! Keep up the good work!
A big advice! you should really share the work you've done , like a playground to gain viewers, i think way more people would be intrested if you give a solid usable example
I love this!!! I love the rolling on wall thing, just it needs some more disadvantages because it gives almost unlimited vertical hight
Loving this series and like how much you show on the backend. Looking forwards to what comes of this.
Hello! I think that this is going to be an AWSOME game. But there haven't been any devlogs in the past 4 MONTHS. Are you dead? I know that alot of people want you to make more
devlogs. I can tell by all the likes that this vid has been getting. Btw this seems like a game that i would enjoy playing alot. If you are ever gonna get close to finishing it i would
with pleasure like to be a beta tester to maybe find bugs or something like that.
This is the longest YT comment i have ever written lol ;D
I love the little character, so cute
Challenge: Make a game where every thing is a ragdoll (menu, character, donuts, people, robots, etc.)
maybe in 24 hours maybe not
Also love ur vids =)
I could imagine wall - E type sound effects when he jumps, dives ect.
I'm glad I came across your videos looking at Unity developers as I am starting to learn game making. You're doing a great job at showcasing nice weight in the character with few frames to not take away on the feel it seems. Keep it up!
my guy really started a great devlog and dipped
Awesome! I really love the mechanics and animation style, everything looks super smooth. Keep it up!
Extremely impressed with the quality of your mechanics. Keep up the great work
These are such amazing dev logs out of no where
the wall roll is the coolest thing ever, i can't wait to play with it
This is epic! You got a new subscriber! Also I have been here since under 3K, you already got 5K!
My brain hearing ground pound: "There's nothing better than a ground pound!"
you are definitly one of the best developer on youtube, you should have alot more subscribers! This game looks sick!
This is the type of video that motivates me to do stuff, really love your work.
The movement looks so satisfying. Awesome stuff so far!
This is looking amazing! Keep up the good work!
The helicopter robot master warrior dude from the last video should give you the power to glide around and a small propeller comes out of nulls hats
This looks really good! Can't wait for future dev logs!
This happens to me too. I overwork on the first week or two, then slow down. But it's fine. Take your time
Thank you, I appreciate it
The game is looking solid right now so I will be following your progress man. Good Luck for your future.
Plus I like all of your ideas and it all looks cool
For the cannon-beetle enemy you could try making it's front legs longer thus tilting it's view higher. You can also simply put them in places of higher elevation where they can shoot down projectiles on the player and the player must navigate/parkor their way up onto where the cannon-beetle bot is and destroy them. With a higher position in the map the camera should be able to more clearly see the little angry bugger face depending on the location. Love your vids and gogogo btw!
This is the only game devs that i actually like and has what i want in a game keep up the good work :D
I love this game please continue working on it
This is the first time I've been happy someone has surpassed me in subscribers. Awesome stuff!
WOW! I am so impressed this looks really cool
Love the look of the character controller! looks really polished 👌👌
The jump and roll subtly reminds me of the dive jump from Mario Sunshine. Nice looking game!
the gameplay just homogenizes so many good elements of platforming, like the controls and animation look so fun to play!
PLEASE START A DISCORD
AND HE WAS NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN. He was a good youtuber...
Instantly became my favourite devlog series!
concept, what if the lower your health is, the more powerful you are, (like the robot goes into a last stand mode), this could allow some interesting gameplay
game's starting to look better and better by the episode! keep it up man ^^
really liking the look of this. nice work so far man. love the idea of the gameloop and plot. perhaps even compatible with a "prequal" later down the line that is a bit more combat oriented and has the player taking down the overlord and seeing how the character in this game came to be? so much potential and really looking forward to seeing how things progress
Man you could have so many cool looking levels with this genre
Neon lights, steampunk, man I’m getting excited just thinking about the possibilities for this game :D
I love how this man is so humble
After you made that wall roll and were showing examples of speed running with it, it hit me how awesome this looks. Absolutely insane job man.
this game looks awesome! can't wait to see it finished! keep up the hard work
Been watching a few dev blogs on 3D platformers, and honestly yours came out pretty striking, hope to see more later.
Love the background music
I love this so much, small finishing touch recommendation that you don't have to add right away, but you know how in Super Mario 64 after landing a backflip mario does this "haha! Look at me!" Pose? Maybe add something like that to some of the moves ending, like the dive without holding the analog stick
This game is actually really interesting...
Hope you still remember the first few hundred by a little bit who've been a fan of your work since then.
Dude! Keep the rolling along walls feature, it looks amazing, and I think the rolling part is what helps keep the idea fresh.
I'm imagining a scene where you're fighting a huge boss, and when he punches at you all slow and dramatic you can roll along his arms to reach a weakpoint in his chest or something.
Also, the enemy was super cute and I don't think it matters that much if you can't always see his little face.
As for ridiculous game idea challenges, how about recreating Super Mario Galaxy's Megaleg boss, where it's some kind of giant enemy with local gravity?
Dude, this looks like it has so much potential. Just keep up what you’re doing, hopefully I’ll get to play it sooner rather than later!
Also, I think a little cartwheel would be really cool 😉
this really needs to be a thing
Can't wait for the next devlog :}
The way the character moves become more and more versatile and fun. I'm interested to see how you design the level around that mechanics, great work!
Super hyped for this! I don't normally speedrun games, but if you release a demo I'll give it a shot for sure
Very excited to be following this project in real time:) starting my first game soon and it's very cool to look at your progress, especially because the camera and character are somewhat similar to what I want. (not the animation style but love your style!)
dude... you have my full attention for the rest of development.
Highly anticipating episode 20 where he's descended into madness like Randall
i just love how nice you are to the community
(p.s. love you too)
This game is really coming along, so excited!
This is so cool! and thank you so much for mentioning mobile frame zero, I'm getting pretty into those lil robots
wow man great job seems very cool and love how you are slowly
Idea: many different paths you can go so people will replay the game for the other places and endings. But please, SLEEP, it helps with everything.
Very nice mate, look forward to where this heads
Also power ups would be amazing (mabey like enhancing his moveset or even transforming him)
Cant wait to play this game
