He was only 30 when he recorded it, to be fair, basically the same age as I imagine a lot of the audience was (as of course current kids aren't nostalgic for the 90s)

I think this song hits so hard because as kids, it showed us a world full of possibilities and what the world could be if we wanted.

Same, I remember coming home from school to watch at 3pm.
I'm just turning 29 and Pokémon was just such an obsession for me. I can't believe how much it just affected me hearing this dude belt out that theme live, it's like being a little kid with his gameboy again.
I'm 29 years old, grew up in a middle class neighbourhood in west London and let me tell you the 90s and early 2000s were literally a Golden age we will never see again. A mere memory unfortunately. The young generation today have no idea what they have missed. In those days the kids in my area would go crazy over this cartoon and we would play pokemon fire and red straight after an episode on our game boy advances.
Truly epic times we must never forget and truly hold dear in our hearts. What a time to be alive
This legit brought a tear to my face, hearing him live and get that recognition he deserves just made me so insanely happy! This song will live on in us forever and no matter how old we get as soon as you hear the song you immediately want to sing along to it.

I literally started sobbing when he hit the chorus, I got hit with so much nostalgia.
Even though Indigo League came out 8 years before I was even born, I still get goose bumps watching this. This theme is immortal. It has, I guess you could say "travelled far and wide" through several generations and I hope it continues to do so. This song means more to pokemon fans and gaming fans in general than many people will ever understand. Thank you to Jason Paige, John Siegler and John Loeffler for creating one of the finest pieces of music full stop. Thank you all so much :)

Born in 88’. Just. It sounds so silly but this was the show the theme sing along with mighty morphin power rangers to my childhood. It is a life goal to get on stage and sing Pokémon with Jason Paige. Or at the very least see him perform in concert. And yes. I will cry from nostalgia

The nostalgia hits hard with this song. I was born in 1990! I was 9 when I started collecting the cards. I’m now 32 and still collecting Pokémon cards and my daughter is 10 and I buy her and surprise her with packs weekly. We’ve bonded more over Pokémon cards then anything else.
