Did the Christian Cross come from the Egyptian Ankh?

- One of the many claims against Christianity from the "Conscious Community" is that Christianity stole the ankh and converted it to the Cross. How valid is this argument?

Terrific Video Neffy! Great work 💯💪🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great video about the cross vs the ankh. Here is something interesting, the 10 plagues of Egypt in the book of Exodus actually corresponds to members of the Egyptians pantheon.
Joshua Melton Yea, Ive always seen that as, since God said he was judging the gods of Egypt, he literally was going after each demon (god) to show he was in charge
Please give more info?
@@Timbreteam Sure here are the plagues in order
1. Water Turned to Blood (Hapi the Egyptian god of the Nile)
2. Frogs Coming From the Nile (Heket he Egyptian goddess of fertility, water, and renewal. Head is in the shape of a Frog)
3. Lice From the Earth's Dust (Geb the Egyptian god of the Earth)
4. Swarms of Flies (Khepri the Egyptian god of creation, movement of the sun, and rebirth. His head is a flyhead)
5. Death of Cattle and Livestock (Hathor the Egyptian goddess of love and protection)
6. Ashes Turned to Boils and Sores (Isis the Egyptian goddess of medicine and peace)
7. Hail in the Form of Fire (Nut the Egyptian goddess of the sky)
8. Locus Sent From the Sky (Seth , the Egyptian god of storms and disorder)
9. Three Days of Complete Darkness (Ra the Egyptian sun god)
10. Death of the Firstborn (Pharaoh the ultimate power of Egypt , he is The Son of Ra manifested in the flesh)
I was part of the Kemetic community as well but left after i saw them spending too much time bashing people for being religious. Also all of the information was confusing. You had people that say Kemeticism is polytheism some that say it’s monotheism and a nice amount that are agnostic.
Khemetic movement brings noting but confusion. You get lost in all these information and you start to walk away from God. I was in this movement before but I wasn’t at peace.
Thorough analysis! Great job girl.

You almost got it. I agree the cross wasn't stolen but the Coptics do use the Ankh as a symbol, if you ask a Coptic priest about the ancient Egyptians he will tell you Coptics were ancient Egyptians that practiced Christianity. The lowercase Tau was already used as a symbol on the back of Sarcophagus to represent the afterlife. The Ancient Egyptians didn't view the lower case Tau as stolen because they used both symbols from mixing with Greeks. The term Bible comes from Port Byblos in Lebanon where Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Greeks would trade scrolls. The Coptic language is a mesh of Demotic Egyptian script and Demotic Greek script. The Coptics have arrow prayers which are the Salaat prayers practiced by muslims today. The arrow prayers were passed down from the Ancient Egyptians. Nothing was stolen, just traditions passed down.
Great video!! Roman Catholic wear crosses with Jesus still on it. But Christian used empty crosses to indicated they risen savior.

Early Christian historian Socrates Scholasticus records an argument between Christians and Egyptian pagans who both laid claim to the Egyptian Ankh symbol:
*When the temple of Serapis was torn down and laid bare, there were found in it, engraven on stones, certain characters which they called hieroglyphics, having the forms of crosses. Both the Christians and Pagans, on seeing them, thought they had reference to their respective religions: for the Christians, who affirm that the cross is the sign of Christ's saving passion, claimed this character as peculiarly theirs; but the Pagans alleged that it might appertain to Christ and Serapis in common...*
*- Ecclesiastical Histories, Book V, Chapter XVII*
But in actuality Egyptian Ankh symbol way older, when Spanish arrived in South America Mayan Indians creation myth was so close to Christian that the Spanish burnt their sacred text
Great content. Thank you.

🌺Not saying that what you said has no validity to it but still many pagan religions and symbols were before even the earliest Christians. You can even do a study on SUN WORSHIP which Christians adapted as SON WORSHIP. (referring to Jesus) or the story of Horus, Isis, and Osiris (trinity in Christianity) or Set (Satan). Doesn't this look copied to you?
Awesome presentation. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
In reply towards Josephus Flavius:
"Yes, when we review the few unimpressive passages in the works of some early historians supposedly "proving" the existence of Jesus, we are bound to ask which Jesus is actually being referenced? Why do we continue assuming that there was but one public figure with this name? And since most ancient commenters did not use the name Jesus or anything like it when referring to this elusive icon of Christians, why do we assume him to be the character presented by Saint Paul, himself revealed as none other than mythmonger extraordinaire Josephus Flavius, the commissioned agent of the world's great tyrants ensconced in imperial Rome?"
~Michael Tsarion
Something to ponder
When ancient commentators discuss Jesus, they actually do use His name. They also talk about the circumstances surrounding His death and the way His followers perceived Him after His Resurrection. So context and specificity both make clear Who the subject of conversation is.
Thanks for your comment. 🙂✊🏽💜

yo big ups to you. i like how you give props to Jesus / Yeshua actually existing ( which i believe wholeheartedly that he did ) & that he was sent by father God to redeem mankind for our sins. Anyhow ,,
we get caught up in symbology ( although important ) & as to what cross is original & what are the different meanings or what not. Because let's face it [ it is important ] ,, i know if i'm gonna be rockin something on my person i better believe / know what i'm wearing & what it represents..
I know Egypt / Kemet predates Christianity & i know a lot of ppl claim Christianity was plagiarized from Egyptology.
i don't know. i wasn't there 😒
anyhow , since Jesus / Yeshua was from the middle east & i'm sure was firmiliar with the pyramids & Egyptology ( it would be naive to think he wasn't aware of that belief system ) .. & so how do we know he never wore an ankh himself? .. 🤔
i would like to know Christs thoughts on the ankh .. that would be an intersting lesson.
just a thought

much love & respect
i love this video !
Another good research showing Christianity to be true and the accusations against it false.
Praise God. Thanks family!
I remember learning some of this a year ago. Jesus did not die for our sins they crucified “criminals” on a daily basis. They believed it would forgive them of their sins. By sacrificing the “son of god” all sins are eternally forgiven. Jesus never wanted to be sacrificed nor did he say he was dying for our sins. The entire Christianity belief system was made after Jesus death he did not create it, it’s not his belief system. They simply murdered that Man in cold blood
I can give you an entire Bible study based solely on the Old Testament Scriptures, that proves that Jesus came here specifically to offer Himself as a Sacrifice for our sins. Let me know if you're interested.

The Latin Cross was also known to the ancient Egyptians. I'm looking at the crux immissa written within the hieroglyphs on an Egyptian artifact. It's just that the original meaning is lost. And I don't think there was ever a debate over crucifixion being a reality or not.
Ahh but was it on a cross or just a pole
Baba heru is right, she's a little shakey. She does not need to be religious we appreciate all symbols the cross represent the sun and the seasons.

Ok?
Hey good video and this is what I've been saying.
That's what I asked myself before so if all these letters and symbols have meaning then is sign language considered evil or demonic?
Yes yes yes ❤️
Ezekiel 9:4 did not mentioned about signing people with Cross. You lied.
That is no answer.. original Scriptures I'm not translated into English..the words are xylou or stauro..meaning tree or pole..not cross..wasn't until the bible was translated into English that cross is used
The cross symbol is found in kemet and Romans used it.
It look like prince symbol which is both male and female signs combined, different cultures have different interpretations about everything even bows and arrows look different
simply: no. Two totally different things, with different meanings.
The there is no evidence of the type of crucifixion in that same symbol as a cross, it was pegging in the shape of a T

I don't understand why you would value a symbol that represents such brutality and bloodshed. I'm not a proponent of the Fallice symbolism but at least it had beautiful symbolic meaning. The Christian cross is a symbol of conquest and a human blood sacrifice to a God?
The Cross represents a chance at Life for each and every one of us. It's a symbol of Life and Redemption. Sin is brutal.

Wasn't Jesus hung on a tree? Wasn't Jesus a prophet of Allah?
Jesus is God incarnate. He was hung on a Cross made of wood. That's why it says tree.
@@nefernittyesq In medieval times the Jews whom rejected the Mashi'aH (Saviour) called His name Yeshu harasha' or Yeshu rasha' with Yeshu being an acronym for the formula "may his name and memory be obliterated"

Wow, all that explaining but yet you missed something. First, it's debatable as to what Christ died on which your whole point of view is centered on to some degree. Then you spoke on our anatomy to make a point about the cross as if your killer wants you to have a humane death based off anatomical possibilities. How did you get a Bible? God people's gave us scriptures, and that's a "walk in faith." But faith based off what? One must research on his own. Your oppressors will provide you with the tools to stay enslaved (a compilation Bible with hundreds of books missing) Why would they empower you? If your edification is bible based then you should be particularly careful because those stories, particularly Christ, pre dates Christianity. In edition early Men of God were not called Christians. So that title is Pagan. Your point of view seems quite Christian base which make your research bias because there's just as much if not more evidence that speaks against your "research."
You said a lot that makes me think maybe you are in search of the Truth. The Truth is that the oppressors tried their hardest to keep Christianity AWAY from us because they feared that it would us feel important and think of ourselves as unfit for slavery. They feared it would make us rebel. And it did. Here's a video I did not that. Please check it out and lmk what you think. God bless. ruclips.net/video/V1fFakap_U4/видео.html

My sister, Jesus Christ grew up in EGYPT, When his mother (an Egyptian woman) and father had to flee Palestine (according to the Bible). Furthermore, according to the bible there is no record of Jesus from the ages of 12 - 30 and it can be argued that Jesus spent much of the 18 years in EGYPT. Therefore, Jesus has seen and experienced MANY of Ankhs in him life. Lastly, Everything that symbolized life, beauty and spirituality from our ancestors, once IN THE HANDS of the Europeans they converted everything that symbolized love, life and beauty, into something other than it symbolism. The African cross (Ankh) represents life and the European (Roman) cross is an emblem of suffering and shame (DEATH!!). Well...........I have decided to choose the symbol of LIFE and not the symbol that represents suffering, shame, death, torture, sorrow, grief. The European Roman Cross DOES NOT represent life........Lord have mercy......we are a lost people.....
The cross represents death, suffering and shame? When studying the Bible this is not the conclusion Christians come to. It was very devastating that Christ had to endure that but in doing so the cross actually symbolizes victory over the penalty of death. It represents a savior who loves us so much that he would suffer the fate we should have suffered in order to give us eternal life. The cross means death has no power over us. His resurrection destroys the claims that the cross only symbolizes death, suffering and shame. His resurrection is proof that the cross was needed in order to bring life. By being reborn.

The Creator doesn’t do human sacrifice lady go read in the beginning of the book and stop looking over things because of your emotional attachment. By the way you may want to know there is a statue of Nimrod with the same Ahnk. Your timeline off goes back before Khemet it’s actual origin is Babylon.
Respectfully, I'm not inclined to let unbelievers tell me how to interpret the Scriptures. The ENTIRE Bible is about the Sacrifice God would make on the Cross, as evidenced by the Old Testament ceremonial laws. Other religions sacrifice animals to appease their gods. We used to sacrifice animals STRICTLY to foreshadow the Sacrifice that would be made.
