Thank you for your kind words @Terry Woodward I've already thought about some more modifications. One for the ship, and one for the Forklift Truck :) Perhaps there will be a part 2 for this as well ;)
I really like the changes you made to both this build and the 918 build. The forklift is especially well done, and you did a great job recreating some other classic Space LEGO ground vehicles in your Rebrickable collection. The 918 build got me thinking... it probably wouldn't require too many additional parts to build two 918s from a single 10497 set... the nose pieces and the paint-bucket thrusters, and a second logo plate and set of "LL918" bricks... and the more I think about this, the more certain I am that I need more of this set. 😀
@Jackson Starky Again thank you for your very kind words :) I've done some small changes to the forklift, and I thin I'll do one more change to the LL924 as well :) There's a list on Reddit for which parts you need to build all three from two sets. I thought it was one on Rebrickable as well, but I couldn't find it when I was looking for it. But you sure need more sets :D
Thank you for your kind words :) I don't remember how long it was for sale, but according to Brickset, it was released in 1978 in the US, and 1979 in Europe. The 928 was released in 1979 both in the US and Europe. But the 924 might have removed from the shelves earlier than the 928. I cheked some catalogues now, and it seems like the 924 was already gone in 1981 since it's missing from the catalogues in Europe and the US.
I'm currently trying to buy 3 copies of the set, so I could display all three ships together. I probably won't mod my copies, but I do plan on using my spare parts (and probably substituting my own pieces) to MOC some other Classic Space builds, like the Forklift. Also last year, I did see the LL924 irl. Every year I participate in a local Adult LEGO Display, and last year, a number of people who signed up backed out, so we were asked to bring extra builds to fill table space. One guy brought his LL924 along with some of his other Classic Space builds (including the Orange Astronaut). This year, I'm thinking about building a Classic Space display with the help of the newer Space sets (since I don't own the original sets).
Hi, you need at least 3 copies, probable more when you start building your own MOC's :) But for the three original ships 3 copies will do just fine :) I hope you share your work, so I can see what you build :) I love to see what others can do with the sets and with more pieces. Have you seen my video about the display I had last autumn? If not, here is the URL: ruclips.net/video/V0pEci1KKnM/видео.html
@@bricksofnorway That's a really cool display. As of right now, I just have 2 copies of the set. I bought them at Walmart where they were just $75 usd. I would like to show my displays, but I might have to turn it into a video, because I can't share images here. I also have a copy of Benny's Space Squad from the LEGO Movie 2, as well as a micro scall Space Cruiser polybag set I got from a LEGO book. I also have Minifig Torsos that reference Classic Space, Blacktron (both the triforce symbol and stylized "B"), and M-Tron. I also have the CMF Blacktron Bounty Hunter and Space Police officer in my collection. Today I will be looking for CMF Series 24, because they have the Brown Astronaut and a Blue baby Astronaut. I may collect a few. Okay maybe more than few lol All of these Minifigs would help with the display I have in mind. Unfortunately I don't have any classic rails and I I don't have than many Classic Space Logos. But other than that, I'm prepping for the future.
Thank you very much :) It took some time and money, but was worth it :) I hope I get to see pictures or videos of your display, sounds like an interesting display :) As you could see in the video, I also have some Old Classic Space. I've been designing and building more Modern Classic Space after the Display. One is almost finished, but the other I'm still designing...
@@bricksofnorway No problem. And right now the Classic Space display I want to build is still in the brainstorming phase. I didn't have any luck finding any CMF Series 24 packs, so no Brown Astronaut yet. But I did buy the XL-15 Starship from the Lightyear movie. It's similar in design and has a cool yellow canopy piece. I heard from some LEGO fans that it's a fun build. I don't know if I'll use the parts from this set for Classic Space MOCs, but I may take inspiration from the design. I also have a few Batmobiles from the LEGO Batman Movie which also contained a lot of transparent yellow canopies.
@Taqresu I'm gonna buy some of the brown astronaut with the baby astronaut myself, but the CMF Series 24 don't hit the the shops untill next week. I haven't build the XL-15 myself, but I know people like it. Looks cool :)
Kult!
Nicew MODs on this ... the Set is very good for further modification and even MOCs: I like to and also experencied here the building of MOCs only with set included parts.
Thanks for your kind words :) Yeah, it's lots of possibilities for mods on this set :) Sadly I'm not a good enough builder to limit myself to the parts included in the sets :(
Congratulations on a job well done. Your subtle modifications make a pleasing difference here. Great job on the forklift truck too

Great alternative builds. 👍👍👍👍

Dude, we don't wanna look at your face, we wanna look at the build
That's understandable :D
