Hey there! Out of state woman racer here. Looking to race burnt timber this year while we take my oldest for a tour around MSU. What’s the C womens class size like? I’m an older racer and we separate our classes a lot different than you all. We have a VET womens class for older ladies like myself.. nervous racing against all you younger ones. We typically have a women’s class size of around 15 women, and about 4-6 VET women. What’s a typical women’s class size for you guys look like?

I think there are usually about a dozen entries. The last couple of years there have been women from 13-60's in the C class, several in 30's to 40's. The young lady in the video will be competing in C this year at 11yo. 406xc has women's A, B, and C, no age or engine distinctions (girl's is separate but typically uses the same course as Women's C, Saturday race). A and B Women's have been pretty small the last couple of years--they race Sunday with the Men's classes/courses. The 406 series is really laid back and friendly and Burnt Timber was a super fun event, fairly isolated, and can be muddy. I would guess 200-250 participants will attend. Lots of good riding around for the Bobcats, too.

@@headwatermike thank you for the reply! I’m excited to have an opportunity to race o it of state. I competed and completed our series here in California (AMA District 36) and took first in my class. Tomorrow we have our awards banquet and I’m really excited to celebrate my accomplishment. My son took first in his class as well, and my brother secured 2nd in his. We got to race in the WHS series as well where like your district the womens class is just that… all of us ladies. Much harder of a class in my late 30’s competing with the younger girls, but crazy fun. We also do the same course as the rest of the C sportsman. I find the racing community throughout the US is incredibly helpful, kind, and treats everyone, even complete strangers like family. Wonderful community in all states. Burnt Timber looks awesome. I love the single track, woods races. Preferably more enduro than track! This race looks like it has some fun tighter sections. I’m pumped! Glad my daughter has chosen MSU for college. I will be visiting often! Again thank you so much for the reply and info. Glad to see the women’s class is growing all over the United States!
