      Nolan has to buy his own bikes, he is riding a 2018 Husky he bought used from a friend. His forks and shock came from his sister's bike when she moved on from it (Deja Moto stuff). I'm sure if you wanted to help him into a Sherco he would be happy to hear you out! Sherco makes a great bike for sure.

    Hey there! Out of state woman racer here. Looking to race burnt timber this year while we take my oldest for a tour around MSU. What’s the C womens class size like? I’m an older racer and we separate our classes a lot different than you all. We have a VET womens class for older ladies like myself.. nervous racing against all you younger ones. We typically have a women’s class size of around 15 women, and about 4-6 VET women. What’s a typical women’s class size for you guys look like?

    • @headwatermike
      @headwatermike Год назад

      I think there are usually about a dozen entries. The last couple of years there have been women from 13-60's in the C class, several in 30's to 40's. The young lady in the video will be competing in C this year at 11yo. 406xc has women's A, B, and C, no age or engine distinctions (girl's is separate but typically uses the same course as Women's C, Saturday race). A and B Women's have been pretty small the last couple of years--they race Sunday with the Men's classes/courses. The 406 series is really laid back and friendly and Burnt Timber was a super fun event, fairly isolated, and can be muddy. I would guess 200-250 participants will attend. Lots of good riding around for the Bobcats, too.

      @@headwatermike thank you for the reply! I’m excited to have an opportunity to race o it of state. I competed and completed our series here in California (AMA District 36) and took first in my class. Tomorrow we have our awards banquet and I’m really excited to celebrate my accomplishment. My son took first in his class as well, and my brother secured 2nd in his. We got to race in the WHS series as well where like your district the womens class is just that… all of us ladies. Much harder of a class in my late 30’s competing with the younger girls, but crazy fun. We also do the same course as the rest of the C sportsman. I find the racing community throughout the US is incredibly helpful, kind, and treats everyone, even complete strangers like family. Wonderful community in all states. Burnt Timber looks awesome. I love the single track, woods races. Preferably more enduro than track! This race looks like it has some fun tighter sections. I’m pumped! Glad my daughter has chosen MSU for college. I will be visiting often! Again thank you so much for the reply and info. Glad to see the women’s class is growing all over the United States!

    • @headwatermike
      @headwatermike 2 года назад

      If they correct the starting lines individually for time then you can finish 30 seconds behind the line that started 1 min before you and beat them even though you never physically caught them. Who crosses the finish line first does not measure who won as it is supposed to be an individually timed event. I don't understand why this is so hard to accomplish--why we are not able to start and cross some sensor to automatically record starts as well as finishes--but it never seems to be the case.

    At the risk of being preachy I would like to caution all parents about riding this trail with kids. Please ride it first and become very familiar with it before taking off with shorties. That trail isn't ideal for young kids and if you try the main trail you will quickly encounter a section that is very exposed and quite dangerous--these videos absolutely do not replace intimate knowledge/scouting; I rode these trails for years before taking the kids. Please ride carefully--the trail will be there next year (hopefully--make sure to comment on the review that BLM is doing on all trails in the Labyrinth/Gemini area at Moab right now). I would happily disclose my address if I was sure not to be visited by social services (ha ha)!
