Thank you everyone for liking and subscribing. We are new to this RUclips video stuff so its very rough, as you can expect things will get a lot smoother as this series progresses and into the future.
Apologies for Audio quality I am slowly getting use to using the microphones.
NOTE; Here is a current scenario:
If I want to leave the wharf, with current prices
Quota is $34 per kg I need 1500kg at minimum that's $51,000 out of pocket already.
i now need Fuel which is $2.02 per liter i need 1500L = $3000
i am at $54,000 still haven't left
i best get some Bait for the pots $4 per kg i need 1500kg= $6000
food for crew and i $800 -$1000 for up to 2 weeks
now i can leave the wharf, I'm only $61,000 out of pocket.
CRAYFISH PRICE on return of 2 weeks at sea $55 PER KG
$55x1500kg = $82,500 take out my expenses before i left the wharf, I've got $21,500 left Lets not forget I haven't paid insurance, maintenance of vessel, repairs, lost or broken fishing gear, Bank repayments and superannuation.

Awesome Job Lockie taking the reigns with filming and showing another important part of a sustainable fishing industry , Thank you Bryce ,Lockie and Ken for this great vlog .
Thank you for watching.
You guys give such a great insight into the commercial fishing sector, please never stop making videos!
Lochie, You need to get one of those deck chairs. It looks like a comfortable way to count lobster and get a bit of R&R.
It's good to see some slappers, even if it's for science. Good job lockie
Lochie loves it.
Here in the USA, Maine, the lobstermen notch the tails of the egg bearing females which protects them for the next 3yrs. All males over a certain size go back as well. This >insuring the sustainability of the species. Farming by regulation.
Great vlog once again, thanks for sharing. Wishing you all the best and success with the new business, cheers from NZ
Great watching once again and doing research not every Body would not know keep safe
Without starting a argument who has the better tucker Lockie 😊
Lochie reckons dad.. he is the master of boat food. You would be suprised with the quality and variety of foods the old man can whip up!
@@Aussielobsterhunters you might have to take a few lessons off the old boy or you might have a mutiny 🤣
Years ago we had Gov weigh bridges doing a survey on what freight we carried, where we picked it up & where it was dlivered too. Most of that freight got lost to Gov railways...... go figure?
❤❤
Hey fellas! May I ask, what happens to the tagged dogs? Are they left alone if you pull them up again? Cheerz
