The Vermillion City clue I believe is meant to be derived from the town-introduction signposts in the game. I believe that one of the signs around the city introduces the town with a slogan something like "Vermillion City: The Port of Exquisite Sunsets".
Going to point out here too that you should name the Shuckle 'Toe', even if you don't intend to use it. Although I wonder if a Zubat/Shuckle fusion would make the man, the myth, the legend himself.
If you have charizard as a secondary Pokémon in the fusion, it won’t pass on flying as the type. The starter Pokémon are a special exception where their primary type will always be passed on, so your worries of having charizard always be the head aren’t necessary.
That used to be true in older verions of the game, but they've changed it since to only apply to normal/flying types. Charizard will pass on flying type in the current version if you fuse it the wrong way around.

If you can evolve Honedge into Aegislash separately and combine it with Teddiursa again, they have a pretty cute sprite. But even evolving them together has some pretty good ones
You should only allow the Sword half of Joris to evolve by defusing them before Aigislash's evo levels, so that Joris atays small and adorable, but he gets cooler swords
If your feeling over leveled there is a setting for adding a level cap. Just go in to the settings and select it, it'll stop you getting exp once you reach the level cap for they stage of the game your at. Think it goes off highest level of the Pokémon at the next gym your at.
Also Sam as I am a certified furry here are a few more Pokemon to add to the potential coomerbait list Roserade, Lucario, Zoroark, Glaceon, Vaporeon, Any Eeveelution really, Lycanroc (any version but mostly midnight)
Tip: occasionally unfuse and refuse your fusions. The redistribution of levels between the unfused pokemon will make it so when you refuse them they will have better stats. Edit: u woulda gotten to keep the evee 😢
Theres a pokemon fan theory that u killed one of your rivals pokemon the battle before the tower he has a rattacain** and when u face him in the tower he doesnt have it.
