I worked in the office of a dairy farm. We had euthanized cows rotting in the "graveyard" above ground in the elements. most were euthanized with medication. The animals were collected monthly by a company that makes the "meat" byproducts. Then they sold those byproducts to pet food companies. There is a video here on YT called 'Pet Fooled'. Very educational. Thanks Doc! God bless you brother!
Thank you I’ll check out the video, the way animals are treated is truly disgraceful, not only is shelf food bad it has doubled in price meaning many are buying cheap kibble, fresh meat here , in the uk right now is out of reach for many
Not surprised at all. The animals in the animal ag industry are loaded with pathogens and injected with antiobiotics, hormones etc. as well as being physically, emotionally and sexually abused, especially DAIRY COWS! Yet another good reason for going Vegan, and looking to a vegan diet for your dog.
Purina killed over 50 of our sanctuary cats in 2018! They bled out after we opened new bags of food & gave them canned Friskies also! Sixteen died within 2 weeks. The rest died within a span of a year. It destroyed their intestines, kidneys & liver. RIP my sweet furbabies 💔😿💔 I will never feed Purina or any brand using 4D meat, corn, wheat or soy 💔
My Lhasa mix was also having seizures and vomiting. Probably every other day. I started making his food and they went down to maybe one a year and then stopped. He lived to be19 years old! One third chicken, one third brown rice organic, one third veggies. He loved it! Sometimes I would add molasses for vitamins or wheat germ. Low dose of garlic in summer to prevent fleas. Garlic can kill them so do your homework
THEY PUT BIRTH CONTROL IN THE FOOD, TO HELP STARVE US OUT. SINCE THEY WERE BURNING DOWN ALL THE FOOD PLANTS. THEN GOING AFTER THE AMISH AND PPL OFF THE GRID
How refreshing to have a man who truly gives a darn about God‘s creatures. In this demonic world, exposing things can throw up a flag. Dr. Jones is a warrior.
I switched to Purina One with the little chicken pieces (like rubberized chkn) 2 of my dogs got bIoat within a few months of each other and were unsaveable. I KNOW it was this food, it's all they ate and I think it's those rubbery pieces
@jimmylopez5209 please check Dr Andrew Jones and Dr Judy Morgan RUclips posts or buy one of their books about healthy cooking for dogs. Personally I bake chicken about 10lbs with carrots, celery and parsley. Also I make meatloaf from ground chicken and turkey ( 6lbs) with shredded carrots plus red, green and orange peppers. When you make dish add fruits like blueberries, raspberries, apples, banana, blackberries, pineapple ( the list goes long and you always can Google which fruits and veggies are safe to feed dogs). Every 3 days I steam fresh veggies like broccoli, carrots, kale, green collards, green and yellow zucchini, green beans. Butternut squash and pumpkin are great to add also to dish. I also bake beets . Always debone meat and store in safety glass container. I mix meat with 2 different fruits and 5 veggies. Also I add goat kefir or goat yogurt. Good luck 🐾
Yes it is. Look at the price of the “good “ prepared foods that are advertised, and the current vet fees nowadays. It’s not costly to cook real food for our pets. Animals bring people love, of course they make all the reasons to make it so hard to have them in this crazy place. Sounds absurd right? Not so much.
@@margaretwestaway3491it’s no different than anything else, corporations are made to comply with ever increasing government rules. Corporations just want to get your money. It’s government that wants to control you/take your comforts and such away.
Its not a 'luxury', but -one does need to be prepared to spend enough to provide appropriate food, water, shelter, and care to one's dog or cat. Just as you wouldn't feed your child from the junk food section of CVS or Target aisle, our dogs and cats should be fed food that is species appropriate, higher quality, and not total garbage. Its great that we have videos like this to remind us not to trust the 'Big Box' companies that provide cheap garbage for food, to our beloved pets. They source cheap ingredients from China and other areas that have no quality controls. Best to buy pet food that is USA-sourced, no recalls, full of actual meat proteins, not 'meat meals', etc. I've mentioned in a few places here, Halo brand is fantastic. I gave my Husky this for 14 yrs. I also complimented it with human grade turkey, salmon, tuna, or sardines...as well frozen veggies (which she loved! :)), such as broccoli, and green beans. She also loved raw carrots. If we treat our pets like they are conscious and beloved beings (which they are), we will know how to care for them. :)
NESTLE, the parent co. of Purina has not been a company with a good reputation for a long time. So, to find it is the parent co. or related to Purina is concerning. The FB group telling this story is worrisome. And I have a puppy who nearly died too, using Purina Puppy food. Vet does not admit it may be to blame but do they know. So stop buying it.
Yes, look into Nestle and you find lots more evil. Baby food action have been campaigning against them for decades because of their dried milk for babies scandal. Lots of children died.....
Dr. Jones, my 12 year old puppy, passed away last week, her head on my lap. I covered her with my tears and my favorite blanket as she grew cold, then colder. She was the runt of the litter, #11 out of 11, and had lifelong health issues. I knew it was coming, and I was waiting for my roommate to come home from work to help me take her to the veterinarian. I never left her side as she struggled to breathe. You know what CHF looks and sounds like at the end stage. The end came fast, but it was graphic. It left a scar on my soul that may never heal . What I really wanted to say is that without your book and educational videos, she wouldn't have made it to 8 years. Thanks to you, she had 11 great years with me. Thank you, Dr. Jones.
Last year there was a train disaster in East Palestine Ohio. The crops were contaminated as well as the soil and water. I did a check to see if Diamond Naturals purchased any ingredients or manufactured in this area. I feel with all of the other disasters happening that contaminate soil and water we possibly have an answer to what is poisoning our pets. I will be making my dogs food - with your great recipes! Thank you Dr. Jones for sharing your wealth of information and equipping us to care for our pets health.
Before I heard any of this, our 3 cats were avoiding Purina One for about four weeks, and one with skin lesions, was vomiting right after he eats. Vet found no cause, but I realized THREE cats suddenly not liking their normal dry food was no coincidence.
@user-lo6lq5vm6x I have been using blackhawk for my cat that is obsessed with dry food. The last bag I got had a sticker that said new improved formula coming soon on it, so I don't know if it will remain good.
@@Elizjim03 For more than a month, cats have been liking Bixbi Liberty Chicken Recipe dry and canned, plus Heart to Tail canned Turkey or Salmon (not Whitefish) from Aldi, BUT I'm watching closely. I will try Petsmart's Nulo Medal 12.5 oz cans per reviews @ nutrition and better cost. My dog has stopped vomiting since eating cooked ground turkey with organic gluten free oatmeal, peas or g beans, plus an egg microwaved for 33 seconds, each day. I cook enough for one week at time.
I HAD 4 dogs. All of them started getting sick. No answers. My dogs were vomiting and had diarrhea that progressively gotten worse. I switched brands and over time three slowly got better. My Lilly, black Labrador, age 14 couldn’t shake it. She just couldn’t recover and passed. It’s been difficult without her. I have finally gotten where I can talk about her. I know with every fiber of my being it was the purina dog food. I’ve never had problems with any of my babies, then OUT OF NOWHERE all four of them. My two youngest were approximately 18 months old. Both rescues one is special needs. A mini schnauzer the other a Pomeranian. My second oldest a sher pei mix. The food needs to be removed from the shelves. The hole in my heart will forever remain
Last time I checked Nestle, the asset management company Blackrock owned over 5%...they simply can't resist having stakes in Big Ag, Big Pharma, Big Tech, etc.
Pedigree too!!! I adopted a dog that was fed Pedigree & there was a recent recall especially from Dollar General & that's where the previous owner worked. The dog had 5 seizures in the 1st day. The Vet said to put her to sleep because she had had many others & a lot of brain damage & would continue to have seizures. I only had her 1 day. It was horrifying, I had never seen a dog have seizures. Those people knew she was sick & lied to me, the Vet agreed.
I'm so very sorry! I can only imagine how horrible that was for you. Please file a complaint with the FDA & Purina. The person that sold you the dog needs to reimburse you, there are laws, please follow through. Prayers❤
They probably could not afford veterinary care. Many of us can't and are forced to surrender our animals. I'm sorry this happened to you and the poor dog. The people probably hoped you could get him well to live a long healthy life.
Dr. Jones, Thank You for becoming involved in these conversations! Let me start by saying, I've worked in the pet care industry for years. I've had special needs dogs of my own & fostered others. I've managed a no-kill rescue. I've been a human investor. And...I worked for one of the top 2 pet food retailers for 7 years. Point being, I do NOT overreact to dogs/cats in my care displaying signs of illness. I closely monitor, adjust foods, etc before rushing to my vet (unless it's an obvious immediate threat to life, of course). Animals are my passion. Ok, now, back in November my 1 year old rescue dog started randomly vomiting. Then, it became once a day until day 5 when I took him to my vet (he was energetic, normal appetite, healthy stools, etc. So normal other than vomiting). After a $600 bill at my vet, his diagnosis was...dehydration!! Duh, he's vomiting! I got no answers so the first food I eliminated was the Stella & Chewy freeze dried dinner rounds of which he only got 1 a day. But, that absolutely eliminated the vomiting he'd been experiencing! Next...I feed Purina Beyond dry kibble for my cats. They get a different brand of wet food as well. I'm not the biggest fan of Purina but have VERY picky cats who refused more expensive brands. I noted they have recently changed the look if their bag & I believe it may have have the word "Simply" in the name before. I got it because I interpreted it as a "limited ingredient" food. Anyway, I opened a new bag just a few days ago. My younger cat was sniffing it & walking away from the bowl. My elder cat was continuing to eat it. Yesterday I woke to bloody diarrhea in multiple places!!! Almost like where she was laying, it was just coming out beyind her control. I stopped the Purina kibble immediately & borrowed a brand of kibble from a friend with 5 cats who are not experiencing any illnesses. They love the food and both cats appear to be fine now. No more bloody diarrhea for more than 24 hours now. The thing that frustrates me the most is that Purina is 100% denying there are any issues. Saying we're fear mongering, etc. I call absolute greedy corporate BS!! To all companies in suspect, DO THE RIGHT THING!! These are not "animals" to most of us, they are family. You are denying any possibility you could be making our "children" sick. Do INDEPENDENT testing if there is such a thing. The number of reports are just a fraction of the whole. Most per parents don't pursue the underlying cause of illness beyond their veterinarian. Because, they trust these corporations. Again, Dr. Jones, I appreciate ALL you do to educate us each and every day! God Bless you and your work.
I'm feeding the Purina Beyond dry cat kibble also. What did you switch to? I'm also feeding the Purina Beyond can dogfood. Supposed to have natural & less ingredients
@@carla89cc I switched to Iams Proactive Health Indoor weight & hairball care...chicken & turkey. Not my first choice but so many brands are now suspect. Let me tell you, I've NEVER seen my cats gobble up food like this. They love the Iams! They've gotten the Sheba pate for years as well. Hope that's safe! Take care.❤🙏❤
@@kzim4453My cats HATE Iams. I have tried it several different times, and they won’t go near it. I know it’s supposed to be better for them, but it just goes to waste. They’d rather starve themselves than eat it.
I truly am at a point where I trust no one! I started my dog on Sundays but his stools are loose and it’s very expensive food. I have spent multiplied hours researching and am finally at this conclusion: I am going to start preparing and cooking my dogs food. Thank you to this wonderful Vet who isn’t a sell out! My discernment tells me that he speaks from the heart! You are my go too when it comes to my dogs health issues (mainly allergies) and you have helped me us in a big way. I will be watching your videos on how to make my dogs food in my kitchen. ❤
Try Carna4 dog food. Your local pet food store can order it for you or Google it for websites that can send it to you. It’s slow baked, no synthetic vitamins. Also cheaper than Farmers Dog food.
@@t-bonena3609 I do. I lost my first beloved Havanese a year ago last October and it wrecked me. He was only 11 and I was constantly nursing different ailments he had. I sincerely believe the root issue was the food. I tried everything with him. Now ai have my new dog “Blessing” and he has issues. What else can it be? It has to be the food (perhaps some genetics). Thanks for responding 💖
If you don't mind, can you post this on the Facebook Saving Pets One @ A Time group? Their kind volunteers are tracking these reports, since the responsible parties are not doing it. I have used Purina for livestock for years. When I started using Benefit for my 4 dogs, my dogs started getting ill. They all died from liver failure within A few months of each other. They were all under 10 years of age. I am still devastated by this. My vet at one point said," is it something your doing "😡. All the while prescribing medications for the systems not looking for the cause. My dog now doesn't eat anything from Purina. But I still feed livestock Purina and they are fine. Different places of manufacturing. Also Pedigree causes the same symptoms . I have seen my friends dogs perish with liver failure and tried to explain to them to try another food. So sad. Thank you for all your valued teachings. It was your videos that helped me raise healthier dogs and cats. My dog is now 23 and doing good for a dog of his years.
I lost one of my dogs on Christmas eve, same symptoms as mentioned, eating Purina, I had used Purina for years with no issues but I believe they changed the formula. I am now using Open Farm for my dogs, from researching it sounded like a good choice although very expensive for my purse I don't want my other dogs to get sick.
I get huge family packs from Safeway, much less per pound, and freeze portions for meals for us ( me and dog) in bags/waxed paper from Dollar Tree. Cheaper that commercial, and safe. Good luck
It's heartbreaking to hear you lost your beloved pet because of Purina. I feel your loss. There's a vet here on You Tube, Dr Morgan, who is sounding the alarm on this matter. I was very pleased to see that the same messaging is coming out here. It's important and I deeply thank these doctors for standing up and calling out this concern, which I'm sure they're right about. I'm hoping to see their viewers climb like crazy and people walk away from these brands. A $10 coupon. What the hell. You caused me a massive vet bill and now you're saying, here's a coupon! My dog died, here's a coupon. Are they insane!

So what do we feed them? I personally can not afford to buy enough meat to feed the barn cats plus my indoor pets. Not that our food is safe either with all the recalls. Sounds like this can happen to other companies, especially if it is the vitamin mix. Purina owns so many companies, so we are obviously running out of safe options. Thanks Doc for all you do!
It is a time-consuming task to prepare fresh cat food. But I figured out how much each cat (I have 3 that are different sizes) eats if eating the small 3 oz cans, and compared that to how much I would have to prepare of the raw or lightly cooked chicken for each cat, and the cost came out to be a little less then buying canned food. I have been feeding all 3 cats a raw diet (developed by a veterinarian and posted online), for many years. One newer cat to the family had teeth problems that I wasn't aware of until I took him to his first vet visit after he was rescued, and she told me he needed a number of teeth pulled! After that, he only wanted to eat the patè instead of the raw. He loves the Purina Fancy Feast, but now I will try him again on the homemade baby-food patè recipe I found. The first time I made it, it tured out perfectly. I had not seasoned it at all so I think he thought it was too bland or boring compared to Fancy Feast. 😂 The other 2 cats only eat the raw (or lightly cooked chicken for one of them recently) I had given one of them a half can of the Fancy Feast when I was in a rush and right after he ate the first mouthful, he immediately vomited it out. About a month later I had given him a big spoonful of another Fancy Feat chicken patè, and same story. So no more canned food. Oddly enough, the cat who had to have the teeth pulled still loves it, and has never thrown it up, but I am now afraid to give it to him and will work on creating a healthy, homemade food that he can eat with few teeth.
Thanks Pat and Margaret for the suggestions! Since I'm a vegetarian, table scraps are out lol...but I obviously have a lot of research to do and recipe testing. Good luck to everyone and thanks for being fur families too 🐕🐈🐈⬛🐩!
I soak & cook pearl barley with some bone broth & water &then add it to the meat in a pan & the cats & dogs in our family love it. It’s gentle on their tummy too. Also I add raw carrots grated & whatever veggies I have in the fridge att.
My dog only eats the food I prepare. He's 11 and acts like a puppy still. No shots other than rabies and home remedies only. Last time we were at the vet for his rabies shot, I had them run a blood panel as well. The vet said, "Keep doing what you're doing"
@@StitchFae If you look on most commercial dog food labels you'll see things like peas, carrots, seaweed, chicken, beef, fish, etc. They just eat what we eat with a few exceptions. No grapes, macadamia nuts, xylotol... There is good information on the internet about foods they can't eat. I cook food for him like I would my child. He gets certain herbs and spices, good olive oil, I brush his teeth with good coconut oil. It's not hard at all and you learn more on the way. But I either boil, bake, airfry or sauté our food. No gravies or sauces. I cook every meal from scratch. But, again, it's not hard because it's simple meals but whole foods. Why should our babies eat that dry, colorless junk? Breaks my heart.
@@RM-ee9zk I agree, and thank you for the detailed response! I’ve been feeding mine store bought raw food for about 3 or so years now but she’s been refusing to eat the ones she used to love since last month, I did end up finding another brand that has simple ingredients and she’ll enjoy it one day and refuse the next. Also now she’s having issues being itchy all over. I fed her (expensive) kibble for about ten years and when I stopped exercising her as much after Covid she started having digestion issues. I’ve always been conscious of what I feed her and have spent a lot of money along the way and never thought to just make her food! So I appreciate hearing your experience! Much love to you and your pup and family 🩵
@@StitchFaeyou're welcome and I'm sorry about her itchies. Mine has that too. Some dogs seem prone to that. A bath and a little coconut oil all over helps a little. That raw food? I've wondered about that too. But the bottom line is, I think, it's a business for them. But we are feeding our babies because we love them. If we cook for them we know what's in it. I just read the other day that a dog food company picks up dead and rotting cow carcasses one a month- Once A Month- from a dedicated pasture at a dairy farm. Let that register! Horrible 😨
Here's the thing, most pet owners consider their dogs/cats as their family members and their deaths can be DEVASTATING!! Pet food producers should appreciate that.
Oh, they do... they expect you to run to the vet and pay thousands of dollars to save their lives. No different than BIG FOOD poisoning its consumers who go on to have chronic conditions and endless medical bills.
When are pooches become seniors this becomes even more troubling. I have been feeding them Purina One kibble and switched them off to canned Purina Pro and canned chicken due their teeth getting bad/missing. Pet food producers should be held accountable.
@@elizabethbrackett6220 It is never easy loosing a pooch, I had to put down "Gracy" several months ago when the cancer spread to her jaws and she could no longer eat.
One of my dogs got very ill from Stella and Chewy, (the other 3 got mildly ill)the veterinarian said to immediately quit feeding him that food. He's still not 100 percent but he's alive and hopefully with more time and care he will recover. 😮
Sorry to hear your pup got sick…I have the freeze dried raw lamb toppers… have 2 bags left. Have not seen any issues… and have been wondering if it was a certain type. I bought these bags when they had coupons several months back so maybe it was before the bad ingredients were introduced. He gets the toppers on top of Bench and Fields… looking for a really straight forward recipe ( without the weird things like beef heart etc) to make that will give him the nutrients he needs. I saw the pup loaf recipe but I’m not handling those icky ingredients…someone the other day said they just give their dog rotisserie chicken… that would be much more palatable for me…

I quit buying Nestle products yrs ago, and that includes human foods as well. To me, they are a callus company, profit only, and you don't matter because of their monopolistic size.
I live in a community where they have been bottling and profiting off our water resources for many years. They are not liked here.. but they won't go away. Their pet foods are total garbage.
The first thing the vet oncologist asked me was, "Did I feed my dog commercial pet foods from the grocery store?" I didn't. But you know when that's one of the first questions, there's something seriously wrong with commercial dog food. She was only 3 years old and developed rapidly spreading bone cancer. She only lived 2 months from the time we noticed the slight limp. ❤️ 🐾
Unfortunately,he's prob.uncertain.They are seeing new brands w/issues also as this continues. Some thought safe, then not.My advice would be that if you want to stay w/comm. food is to only by small quanities at a time in case you have to stop it.
Thank you for addressing this subject. I mentioned it in comments on another one of your videos and so many of your viewers have been ripping me to shreds over the news that has come out about this horrible situation! I hope they can figure out what it is and take those Foods off the market before we have any more pets suffering and possibly die. I would not be surprised if the vitamin premix was made in China and they put some other kind of poisoning them like they did in 2007!!
I noticed my cat Stan started refusing his food and yet Purina was the only food he’d eaten since being a stray and the neighbors feeding him that food probably most or all of the time. He started refusing it at the same time tons of pet owners noticed something was wrong also. I had to get him into the ER and then urgent care while switching his food and he’s happily eating Nulo and Simply Nourish and he’s ok now! I saw over 60k people joined that group within 2-3 days-that is NOT a coincidence and I saw endless reports of the same timing and same issues. It’s just really hard to get a recall to happen and they’re not able to find out what’s in the food that’s causing the problem quite yet.
Nothing can live on dead and diseased meat. Not to mention all the other crap that goes in to kibble. I am so sorry to the owners of the dogs that passed, incredibly sad and scary.
Well said, I agree. People who eat meat, particularly factory farmed animals (which is satanic ritual abuse) should take this into consideration as well
My 2.5 yr Boston Terrier eats a mixture of Zignature grain free kibbles and pre-made frozen raw protein sliders with 10% produce. Made in USA. Thank you Dr. Jones for taking Purina to task. I personally would add Science Diet to bad food category. Horrible food. Traditional veterinary offices are coerced into selling this crap.
Thank you so much for this report 🙏 ❤️ We had a healthy cat seriously poisoned by "something" he was the only cat 🐈 out of 4 who was sick and the only one who ate purina!! Thankfully he survived. They will not admit it they are Nestles and have a track record of denial. We're in UK and my MP wrote to the Minister to report this and got a bland, unhelpful non-action response. Im a member of the Facebook group here Cats Recently Affected by Felix food and its unquestionable. Ive had direct communication with Purina and they simply are playing at being concerned, they are not. I'm aware that globally, there are serious concerns ... my question is why we are not getting an authentic independent investigation in to the whole tragic situation, at least what you've reported here gives some insight so Thank you so much 🙏🙌✨️
March 2024, bought Friskies kibble for my cat , as regular brand was sold out. Within three days , my cat started vomiting and became very sick, barely able to move. I figured out that it was the food, and immediately stopped feeding her “Friskies “. Took a few days, but after putting her back on her regular food she came back. After some research, I decided to not give her kibble anymore, just wet stuff. Wow, she’s like a fricking kitten now. Never seen her more energetic, and she’s 14 years old.
Dr. Jones, thank you so much for all your videos. Please help. I've known to stay away from Purina for years, but Stella & Chewy?! I really thought they were supposed to be good. I've been feeding the freeze-dried raw cat foods. Are they all bad, too? What about Fromm Game Bird for cats? IS THERE ANY REASONABLY PRICED GOOD FOOD OUT THERE THAT WON'T KILL MY CATS AND DOG?!?!!
It’s not just Purina . I have calls in to Instinct as well as to Stella and chewy rabbit formula. We spent $2000 on our Chihuahua the first week of January. He already has so many environmental and food allergies as we spent 800 bucks on allergy testing a couple of years ago. The only protein he has not allergic to his rabbit, but both of these formulas had changed And he became extremely lethargic. He was trying to hide his food and cover it and just didn’t want to eat it. He was hungry but not for that. His ears swelled up and even his entire body. He had so much inflammation throughout and was itching like crazy. Ears were all speckled and red inside. Finally got our vet to refer us to a dermatologist about an hour away in Colorado Springs. He is now on a food trial with. Rayne Nutrition rabbit formula and he is doing both the canned and dry. it’s been a month and we have our follow up this Tuesday doing so much better!! They are poisoning not just the human food supply and water supply but also our precious pets.
Our entire big corporation food system is poison. Everything in grocery stores. Pesticides, chemicals, synthetic vitamins, artificial colors and flavors. We need to talk with our wallets.
I'm deeply appreciative that there are veterinarians who are calling out problems that individual pet owners may not understand what maybe (likely) the problem. Thank you. It's important to us. Please understand vets need to understand not everyone can go to great expense or has a lot of time to make food for their pet(s).
can you tell us what your feeding your dogs now? thats such a high list of products and more of which in the supermarkets are also bad as well. the list is getting shorter and getting any good ones are getting harder and expensive. let us know what are the good ones.
Funny enough the vet told me to stop giving my dogs raw diet and to go on purina. Glad I didn’t pay attention. Im not sure why she even recommended purina when she has told me many times that my dogs are healthy.
Because like human doctors and I quote the holistic doctors that I have seen "these people are handicapped by their education". Another wise person, the guy with the controversial website, mud fossil university... "Education is indoctrination" In college, just like public school students are taught too regurgitate exactly exactly what is in the textbook and not to think independently anymore . Speaking from experience, you will be punished and possibly blackballed from your profession if you do otherwise! Actually, it happened to this lovely vet who does the video😓
In 2007 my dog and my friends dogs were eating Wellness brand. Our dogs became very sick and we took them to the Vet. This is where we found this company as well as others decided to outsource their protein from China which used melamine to con buyers their protein was higher. As a result many dogs went into kidney failure. We were in the medical field, so the Vet supplies IV bags to us and we had to give daily IV fluids to support their kidneys. We were blessed as our dogs made it, others weren’t so lucky. As Dr. Jones and other self educated Vets know there is no real oversight regarding pet food. If you think Big Pharma doesn’t care about their jabs and meds that make humans sick or die, why do you think they would care about our pets? I cook for my dog, and will never trust the dog food companies again. Later we signed up for the class action lawsuit and won.
My post here isn’t about dog food, but Purina chicken layer feed. We had our hens on Purina later feed, they ALL stopped laying and all started pecking each other and losing their feathers (they weren’t molting) …. Also, they started getting very runny stools and right before I switched their feed, they were refusing to eat the Purina layer feed.. After talking to several other chicken owners and our local farm store, I switched them to Beaver Brand (made in the pacific NW where I’m from) and immediately, in less than 3 days…. They were all laying again… there was something in that feed, that was not only making them feel and behave bonkers… it totally stopped their laying cycle!! Never again will I EVER use Purina ANYTHING!! We have our pups on Costco Kirkland feed, it’s made by an excellent company named Diamond… it’s a top tier food and very affordable. I highly recommend it to anyone! Our little rat terrier has horrific allergies and used to be on Hill’s Science Diet… it was horribly expensive and she still had allergy issues (bloody stool, fur loss and ear/paw infections)… she now has NONE of those symptoms!! I hope my comment can help someone trying to find a good top quality feed for their pups ❤️💕🙏🏼
I spent a fortune on Science Diet for my two dogs, thinking I was feeding them the best food. I was a fool. One died of cancer in Feb 2022, the other had kidney failure that November. I finally adopted a dog just yesterday. I'm making it my business to learn about pet nutrition and I'm learning to make dog food at home.
@@MishaMishaSoprano my daughter is a store manager at a Costco in Washington state. When I read your comment I panicked and called her right away! There are no active recalls currently on any Dog food from Costco made by The company “Diamond Pet Foods” The only thing I have found from about an hour of research is just a few online rumors 🤷🏻♀️
Purina is NOT the only one out there. There is a list of about 9 of them that are all made by Nessley's they have found so far. Check Dr. Judy Morgan's website and videos also. She has been running independent lab test to see what it is they are doing to the food. Also Nessley's is not the only manufacture that is doing this. The FDA doesn't care about people food why should they care about pet food.
Related note: Many pet foods and probiotics contain a bacterium called enterococcus faecium. This is a VERY robust and inexpensive member of the staphylococcus family that's added to aid in digestion. The higher the protein, the higher the EF content. Many dogs, especially northern and working breeds, have what we now call EFS, or EF Sensitivity. The bacterium essentially causes a chronic bacterial infection with symptoms that include volumionous, milkshake consistency stools, alopecia, poor thrift, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. EFS is often diagnosed as IBD or an absorption disorder. Treatment is often a probiotic which contains EF that worsens the issue. Dogs can and have died from EFS. Treatment with metronitazole and/or albon will alleviate symptoms, but they quickly return as the problem is the diet. Because its so common, switching foods won't help, all of which can make it difficult to pinpoint and diagnose. UK and European vets amd consumers seem to have a good knowledge of EFS. Some manufacturers remove EF from products destined for foreign markets. If you suspect EFS, withdraw all products with EF from the diet and treat with metronitazole and albon. Keep an eye on labels, too, as formulas change often.
My personal experience is that since I bought Purina indoor cat chow, my cat is vomiting and has loose stool. True statement. It’s happening today in my house.
Ok so my senior cat started losing hair , for a couple years it was Prednisone and injections , on and off till I noticed it was every time I bawt Purina senior biscuits , stopped them and within a couple months , his hair started growing back , vet says I'm wrong but that's the only change I made
My moms dog 🐶 unexpectedly died of a seizure a few weeks ago. Perfectly healthy dog. We live in Canada. She was feeding him purina. The dog was 2 yes old.
This "pet food" issue is really a problem! I had been feeding Victor to my sheppys since they were puppies. After there latest recall bullcrap, said to myself gotta change! As fellow pet lovers know,we want the best for them. But the cost of everything has made it REALLY HARD to achieve. I changed kibble, like to do away with it entirely! Working on it. But i give them half of what i used to,and supplement the rest. If this helps anyone....i spend about $20 extra a week, and go to my local grocery store and get ,turkey qizzards, chicken hearts, livers ,qizzards, legs, feet.beef liver, sardines, yogurt, pumpkin, broth, carrots, apple, and i look for marked down beef products. We have chickens,so they get fresh eggs. You need to be creative and rotate and balance the food. I have a camp stove in my shop, sometimes i just sere the meats for smell and warmth........my GSD'S, have never been more excited for mealtime! Hang in there people, love on them doggies!!
omg this makes so much sense! for months last year 2023 my cat was expreincing diahrea, vomitting, refusing to eat and I tried her on different foods and all with same above results. turns out they were all purina brands. she is doing a little better now with a new bag (still purina). Im not buying purina again.
Oh my word, my cat only eats Friskies wt and Iams dry. She has had 4 mystery illness es in the last 12 months and the vet couldn’t identify it! The illness lasts about 3 weeks during which she refuses food and seems near death. I give her the malt gel to keep calories in her until she comes through. It’s horrible! The vet said there really isn’t anything that can be done. I wonder if it’s the Friskies.!?😨😨😨😨😨 Thank you, Doctor and everyone in comments. I will switch her food out. Edit. No wayyyy. The first time she got sick last December before Christmas, she was eating Acana. That’s on the list, too! 😮
Why I never feed Purina or any recalled food. I switch it up between frozen lightly cooked, kibble (Open Farm/Viva Raw which I cook), and I make my own toppers. I've been following you since my cat died from eating recalled food (Fromm's). You have kept my dog healthy, and thank you for your allergy videos. I appreciate you
I am about ready to loose my 5th dog in two weeks.they all suffered from severe parvo like symptoms.Vomiting, diarrhea which quickly turned into bloody vomit and diarrhea. I rescue dogs and caught it immediately. All the dogs were strong and heathy and I had Iv fluids going, antibiotics and anything thing else imaginable and the didn’t stand a chance. Most were dead in 24.48 hrs tops.the last one alive is Lucy, a strong athletic American Pitt bull Terrier that could clear six foot fences. She servived the initial infection only to be left with neurological abnormalities, seizures, myocardial and I suspect liver or kidney damage. It breaks my heart to put her down after she fought so hard to survive. All 5 dogs were on Purina canned Pro plus extra protein I had received from our local humane society as a donation.the dogs all got sick within the first ten days of starting the new food. This illness was the most aggressive illness I have ever seen, it really looked like a more deadly enhanced variant of Parvovirus.I thought to myself they wouldn’t be doing gain of function research on the Parvovirus could they? Well it turns out that they are. .By the way, Purina doesn’t want to talk to me and keeps disconnecting me. I will comment again with links to the published GOF research.
Years ago you heard on the news that dog treats and shampoo was killing pets where was it made, some or most of it at this time was coming from China I don’t know details
years ago we heard in the news that some treats and shampoos were killing pets, some of this had to do with the items being made in China. I can’t even believe that this is happening. we have opened our trade up too much. and poor standards have crept into our manufacturers. I can’t believe this. The comment about the cat sanctuary. We have been on hills food and I worry about things like this. we have recently started boiling chicken for our cats to supplement their diets I wish we could make all their food, maybe we can get there I’m getting the newsletters from this doctor now, thank you.
Pet food people should be ashamed but they are selling thing s for that can kill em people makeing em rich then something happens to our fur baby go to the vet 100 dollars OR SO
Omg I feed my little yorkis that exact Purina type. I was just talking to my husband today about taking our oldest yorki to the vet because she is having these symptoms. I’m thinking it’s because she’s in her old age. She’s almost 18 years. But then our two year old yorki started vomiting also. I’ve been racking my brain thinking about this. Now this all makes sense. Thank you God! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My 17 year old cat is on Purina UR for the past 3 years, wet pouches, over Christmas he had sickness and diarrhoea and lethargy and was on a drip for two days over the festive period. Results came back and the vet couldn’t work out where or why the cat had been sick! So after meds and changing his diet to Applaws chicken and pumpkin he’s much much better in himself. I think Purina have a lot to answer for! To see my elderly cat that ill. But my other 3 pets be fine in health and no issues just didn’t make sense to me, now I know why - my elderly cat was the only one out of the 4 having Purina! No more! Thanks for telling us and making me realise that I wasn’t going mad! (Best wishes from the UK) 🇬🇧
Thank you for letting me know about purina pro plan - I don’t use it and my vet tried pushing it on me and I pushed back and said no thank you! I’m so glad I stuck to my instincts and then DrA your education is so valuable!!! You confirmed what I was feeling as to be true.
Most commercial pet food, including high-end expensive brands have circled back to getting many of their ingredients, including meat, from foreign countries. Don't be fooled by the American flags on the bags...if you look closely under them, it often says something like "*Prepared* in the USA *using both domestic and imported ingredients.*
Thanks for the info, I had just read that story this morning. I hope that you can keep us updated. I'd like to see what the results of those independent tests will be!
Ive been feeding my pets Taste of the wild, one of my cats has been vomiting for 2 days and not eating or drinking, or moving much. This breaks my heart, stopped feesing it to my other pets. Please pray for my cat Ray to get better fast and eat☹ I made him home cooked but cant eat right now. I pray that all of our furry family recover and be heathly. Sending love and healing to you too.
Yes so what do we feed them ?? I like to order his stuff but in Canada it’s expensive for shipping it’s like 30$ plus the product and in American money
@@heathertoonpleasure I kid u not. There are 3 major companies that make dog food. For the entire world. Actually considered animal feed. Only people get food grade. Any and all dead animal carcasses Doesn't matter how they got dead (some being chemically induced) 3 people decide what's allowed in your dogs food People that don't specifically like your dog People that are very rich on selling their dog food to you. Feed your dog like you feed u without the bad cr**. :)
My dog had mucus diarrhea, pungent frequent gas and sometimes gastrointestinal sounds. He was on Acana kibble and canned. I had his stool tested and came back with Giardia. So we treated with the meds given. But it didn’t make a difference, plus he started a new symptom, vomiting. 2 weeks after finishing the meds I had another fecal test done and it came back negative for any Giardia or anything else. The vet said change his food. So, I switched to Dr. Harvey’s canine health, 20-22ounces of protein that I cook and the Dr Harvey’s health and shine oil plus I still gave him Acana canned. His stool improved but not completely and still vomiting. So, I dropped the Acana and now his stool is normal, and he has no more pungent gas or gastrointestinal sounds or vomit issues.
I contacted Purina August 2023 about the toxic ingredient Annatto being used in Beneful and they blew me off with their standard BS. This breaks my heart that so many pets have died because of their greed.
I lost my Weezy to Royal Canin in 2021. I kept asking if it was the food after listening to Dr Becker. No no no of course not. Well she’s gone, I’m still heartbroken because I couldn’t save her and I poisoned her. This has to stop
I've been feeding a mix of Acana and Rawternative or Ziwi Peak. I'll be checking out more info on the Acana and discontinuing until a determination is made. Thanks!
I buy bulk dog food from a warehouse. blue buffalo. My new Australian Shepherd got sick Oct. 2022. Bloody diarrhea, it cost me $10,000.00 to save his life at the emergency vet. I used all that batch of Blue Buffalo, and now I just got over $1,000.00 worth of Blue Buffalo yesterday, and NOW I see this. I buy expensive food for my dogs and they pull this B.S.! I think I will cook all of my dogs food now, build up a flock of several hundred meat chickens. I used to use merrick until I heard that they were purchased by purina, then I dumped them like a hot potato. I spend thousands and thousands on what I THOUGHT was quality food. I used to seek out companies who had INDEPENDENT testing done on their product. I hope that the companies who have done this ALL fold up and go out of business!
Thank you so much, Doc, this information is very important for every dog parent. I have an American English Staffy. She was a healthy dog until last year around the end of April. We always fed her with Taste of the wild smoked salmon flavour. We live in Melbourne Australia, Molly has been diagnosed with IBD since April 2023, and she had chronic diarrhea. She has been on a strict diet of homemade food and cortisone. We now see some improvements, but her gut was destroyed. I introduced flaxseed and probiotics as you suggested in one of your amazing videos and her skin is getting better as her whole body got really affected by the medication. thank you.
We've been having bad weather where I live and bought some Stelal and Chewy from Amazon (because this raw dehydrated brand delivered quickest) Ive been noticing my 2 yr old Havanes who is very healthy has been having loose bm's. It's bothered me because there's really no reason for it but now with this information, I'm stopping S&C brand food immediately! Thank you Dr. Jones!!!
Six months ago I took my dog off Purina One, and EVERYTHING is better. Coat, skin, stools, energy, etc. I used Purina for decades then October 2022 my 3 y/o dog developed a severe skin allergy after I bought him a small bag of the venison and sweet potato. He usually ate the chicken and rice, so I figured it was the different ingredients and threw out the venison, got chicken again. He got better but not up to snuff and then the allergies came back after a couple more bags of chicken and rice. Decided maybe Purina was pkaying with ingredient quality, so tried him on different food. His skin completely healed within a couple weeks AND his poop is better than it's ever been. He always had kind of weird stools, hard at first then runny at the end. That's gone now, too. I realize now my old dogs before him also had some issues with Purina One, but they happened gradually so I didn't make the connection. I think Purina has probably been steadily lowering the ingredient quality to increase profit, or maybe their wholesale ingredient suppliers have. Whatever, this was a great video and confirmation of what I suspected : Purina is no longer any good.
My dogs have had the canned Purina Pro mixed with kibble. No more! I hope Diamond brand is still good. Watched this and immediately bought the Pro89 one. I also have been feeding my adopted Pitt mix Natural Balance low cal. So many names involved here. I’ve never felt great about dog food ingredients so shop carefully. Reading comments and glad to see others cook for theirs too! Seriously don’t know if any one entity is to blame here but it has to end asap. Thank you for your work.
My dog was on Purina Adult Complete, which is what they are feeding at the Humane Society. He has some itching, so I decided to transition his kibble to a better brand with salmon. He's doing a little better, but I am now supplementing his food with human grade toppers, pasture raised organic eggs, and raw goat milk which I just got today. I'm just so glad I got him completely off the Purina before potentially buying a newer bag that may contain a bad batch. It's heartbreaking what's happening! 💔 In the meantime, I'm looking for an affordable kibble that's not repeatedly processed at high heat, and and one that does not have a synthetic vitamin pack (which could be the cause). I live in the country where organic meats are not readily available except for ground beef. I don't trust chicken that was fed corn because of roundup used in cornfields, and no one sells organic chicken locally... so all I can do is look for better kibble and supplement with organic raw when I can get it. I just cannot afford to buy premade raw diets online, at least not at today's prices!
@@alex241 yes it is but to me it's really worth it to have real food ingredients, nutrients and batch testing for pathogens so you don't have to roll the dice on safety and nutrition. Most dogs do well with less because of it being real food. My 80lb pittie gets a cup of it with a chicken thigh or hamburger and hasn't lost an ounce of weight and is according to her vet healthy for a 12 yr old dog with cancer.
To many pets have gotten ill or died and Nestle is turning a blind eye. I saw a post from a kennel were the dogs got sick from New bags of Purina. Purina has offer to some a refund and paying vets bills upon signing a non lawsuit from some post I've seen. Purina needs to wake-up and take responsibility 😤
17 dogs. Purina only. All lived long lives. The 2 I have left are 16 yrs old. One a small, Bichon Frise. One a large breed - Golden Retriever - that still likes to wrestle. Last year, my son put down his 15 y.o. Lab. I do not CHOOSE purebreds nor do I purchase them. These 17 dogs have joined my household because they were on their way to the pound. I wanted to guarantee they had a good life.
Same here. My 4 rescues 11, 10, 9 and 7 all eat Purina Dog Chow either Lamb or Beef and none of them are or have been sick in any way, shape or form. Have had all of them since they were either babies or at least a year old. IDK why or how this problem is a problem, but I just wanted to share our personal interaction with the brand.
Most companis use to be safe, but they have been taken over by other people .The banks and big corporations want to take over by 2030 and make it a one world communist order. They are purposely putting poison into our food and our pets. How else would these animals get so sick in such large numbers. These companies know what there doing.
one of my small mixes has been eating Purina kibble for several years since the concerns about dilated cardiomyopathy related to other brands or formulas. My purebred puppy has been on Purina since he was at his breeder and is almost a year old and in great health as confirmed by recent exam with bloodwork. I plan to switch him gradually to the adult version. I am familiar with at least one of the people on that site from another site, and I am very skeptical of that person and the site. There may be some bad batches, maybe some were contaminated after manufacture, but I am not ready to totaly stop buying this brand or another until I see some more scientific study.
@@3Mudbone1 I do not encourage the purchase of purebreds. They seem to have more health problems than mutts from a pound. I was pointing out out that I did not choose these purebreds. They were placed in my care.
My dog has been on Pro Plan Puppy Sensitive Stomach Lamb and Rice her entire life. She’s almost 8 months old. She suddenly quit eating several weeks ago after I opened a new bag. I found my way to the Facebook group mentioned here. This is not coincidental. It may not be intentional, but the common denominator in many cases is this brand. I’m struggling to find a new food mine will eat. I’ve been making her food and topping another brand of kibble. She’s far too important to risk harming her. I just hope she is okay. Her appetite is not good now where it used to be great.
I was feeding Stella & Chewy's to one of my three dogs, and she got diarrhea starting early in December. But only 1/4th of her food was Stella & Chewy's. Another fourth was Small Batch, and the other half was homemade food. I gave her Slippery Elm and homeopathic medications for the diarrhea, and it would disappear for a few days and then come back. Since I took her off Stella & Chewy's completely, it has not returned. I think that one reason why she didn't get as sick as other dogs is because she was only getting 1/4th of her food from Stella & Chewy's, and because I was doing a lot for all three of my dogs to help prevent digestive problems. But I don't know for sure whether the food was the culprit or not. It might have just been coincidence. But it hasn't returned since I stopped the Stella & Chewy's, so I don't for sure. Still, better safe than sorry. Years ago one of my previous dogs was made sick by the melamine in pet food problem. She survived, but having to switch her so suddenly caused major digestive problems, and I vowed ever since that I would feed more than one brand of food to my pets at a time so that if there is a recall, or a shortage, or a company that goes out of business, I would not have to make such a drastic change to their diet so suddenly. I've had to deal with other recalls, companies going out of business, and food being out of stock when I was running short because I forgot to order more, or thought I still had some. And having other food to fall back on has saved us repeatedly.
The last time I opened a bag of Purina beniful was for my mum's dog and what flew out blew my friggin mind and I wish I had recorded it on video, but I opened a bag of beniful small dog sized food and a ton of moths flew outta the bag when I checked the expiry date it was a fresh delivered bag it took me 3 weeks to get every last month out of my mum's apt. There were so many moths I thought there was a plague happening everything was covered in moths ! After that I never bought another bag from them and even changed companies for her dog food and oh btw I do know where the food was made in st Mary's ont. Canada and btw if people knew wtf the animal by products are and from where it comes from well let's just say don't go to st Mary's ont in the hot summers cause the factory where Purina gets their ahem " animal by products " from really stinks and is a constant BAD place to be at ! So bad that the property owners across the street only sell the property in the off season ( winter months) because of the stench which makes people sick !
Cannot help but wonder if this is all part and parcel of what has been going on in the past 4 years. I know dry pet food has been an issue for a long time...but it seems to have drastically increased. Seems there are so many recalls for many things including food, medications, etc. It is clear the Powers that be are making life harder and harder and I am so grateful to Dr. Jones for being a big part of the Solution and for speaking the Truth!
While on Purina Beneful one of my Toy poodles had severe liver problems. Vet called me asking if Id been using chemicals. We dont and they coukdmt save him! Meanwhile all my breeding bitches developed Pyometra which can kill quickly. All had to be speyed. Only after I read about about the deaths and lawsuits in the US did I realize it was that! I foolishly recently tried other Purina products but after the reports coming through changed diet!
My dogs (2) got very sick, one almost died after switch to Purina Pro Plan. I just tried to share this info in a Vets Only group on FB only to be promptly removed. I feel like they are complicit in the poisoning and are still raving about Purina as one of their favorites. Meanwhile so many in that group are having these horrible symptoms.
I feed my cat Purina One Sensitive Systems and it has helped him with his stomach issues. He was on a high quality food called Halo which is expensive and he threw up on that food and got hairballs a lot. Purina One it is rare he throws up. He doesn't have dandruff anymore since I put him on Purina One. He used to itch so much before. I tried him on Rachel Ray cat food too and he threw up so much I took him to the Vet and $500 later after testing it was determined it was the food.

I learned about purina in a vet tech school circa 1978, i had to many of my 9 year old goldens died on any kibble living in Southern Maryland, Stella & Chewy was sold out and then made 6 dogs sick, we had six and likely killed our Stately Gentlman, I knew something was wrong could not feed and a local store i trusted still sells them, i was out 35.00 and knew it was the only thing they ate, i use Badlands ranch,i not been so pleased with coats and eyes clearing to many benefits to mention hear, i have known, so thank you for bringing it up again, to long of negative history for me with 4 senior dogs ages 7 and 9.
You have helped me so much restore the health of my dog. I changed his food to Farmer’s dog and all his skin problems (mostly staff) have disappeared after two weeks. Also, your advice on his reoccurring ear infection worked!!! I’m so happy.
That's really disgusting. But thanks anyway.
I do not want to go into that rabbit hole, I cook chicken and beef for my dogs and cats , I do not trust the manufactures
Disgusting! How dare they?
Purina killed over 50 of our sanctuary cats in 2018! They bled out after we opened new bags of food & gave them canned Friskies also! Sixteen died within 2 weeks. The rest died within a span of a year. It destroyed their intestines, kidneys & liver. RIP my sweet furbabies 💔😿💔 I will never feed Purina or any brand using 4D meat, corn, wheat or soy 💔

Dr. Jones has videos regarding home cooking . That is what I did . Watched his videos and copied it.

It’s a big problem because here in the uk meat has risen very high in price
Good luck 🐾
@sylviabriggs4087 I hear you. Prices are crazy everywhere. But I prefer to spend money on quality food and cook myself than on vet bills
What is really sad, society is making it a luxury to own a pet. Governments are trying to take things away that make us comfort ing
Corporations are taking away our comforts. It is all about money for the companies. I don’t think the governments stake is that high
Yes it is. Look at the price of the “good “ prepared foods that are advertised, and the current vet fees nowadays. It’s not costly to cook real food for our pets. Animals bring people love, of course they make all the reasons to make it so hard to have them in this crazy place. Sounds absurd right? Not so much.

Almost 40 yrs ago, I worked for a vet who was also a meat inspector and he warned me about Purina way back then. I never touch their products.

100% Nestle is EVIL
Their human foods are not healthy either: Stouffers, Swiss Miss, to name a few
I tried Purina because I read how great it was. My dogs got bloody diarrhea and nausea from it. When I stopped using it my dogs have been fine since.
What did you switch to?
Ralston Purina was a decent pet food until 2001, when Nestle purchased Purina.
Last time I checked Nestle, the asset management company Blackrock owned over 5%...they simply can't resist having stakes in Big Ag, Big Pharma, Big Tech, etc.
They need to stop putting red dye in their food.
It's true owner is Cargill
Before 2001 too. I’ve never fed it.
YES!!! YES!!! TRUTH!!! BOTH ARE TOXIC!!!! I USED TO WORK AT A VETERINARY CLINIC.
I just got my dog off of pedigree. That stuff is terrible
Sunday's prices are very expensive for sure. Obviously, you care a lot for you pet.
Thanks for responding 💖
making your own pet food is really the only way to go. Source your ingredients from the farmer's market if possible
If you don't mind, can you post this on the Facebook Saving Pets One @ A Time group? Their kind volunteers are tracking these reports, since the responsible parties are not doing it. Dr Judy Morgan is collecting samples for lab testing. Every pet owner story helps, as the corporations are trying to call these rumors and lies. They're doing everything they can to discredit pet owners, so they can continue to rake in the profits and avoid responsibility. (no, i'm not an admin with the group. I've just seen too much, especially as a pet food foster, so I'm trying to spread the word of where people can report these issues, since the responsible parties are too busy counting their profits to do anything about it)
I have used Purina for livestock for years.
What do you feed now?
Yes they did change the formula
Probably much less expensive to cook your own in an Instant pot 2 or 3 times per week . And much better for them.

The other 2 cats only eat the raw (or lightly cooked chicken for one of them recently)
I had given one of them a half can of the Fancy Feast when I was in a rush and right after he ate the first mouthful, he immediately vomited it out.
Yes the price can be high to cook for your pets. In the old days our pets ate table scraps. They lived longer and were pretty healthy
Would love to see your recipes!
My dog only eats the food I prepare. He's 11 and acts like a puppy still. No shots other than rabies and home remedies only. Last time we were at the vet for his rabies shot, I had them run a blood panel as well. The vet said, "Keep doing what you're doing"
Any advice on where to learn about preparing food for dogs?
There evil they dont care
Oh, they do... they expect you to run to the vet and pay thousands of dollars to save their lives. No different than BIG FOOD poisoning its consumers who go on to have chronic conditions and endless medical bills.
When are pooches become seniors this becomes even more troubling. I have been feeding them Purina One kibble and switched them off to canned Purina Pro and canned chicken due their teeth getting bad/missing. Pet food producers should be held accountable.
I lost my little girl in Aug 2023, and it absolutely destroyed me. She was only 4 years old
@@elizabethbrackett6220 It is never easy loosing a pooch, I had to put down "Gracy" several months ago when the cancer spread to her jaws and she could no longer eat.
One of my dogs got very ill from Stella and Chewy, (the other 3 got mildly ill)the veterinarian said to immediately quit feeding him that food. He's still not 100 percent but he's alive and hopefully with more time and care he will recover. 😮
which Stella and Chewy Foods? I've been feeding my cats their freeze dried raw cat food
@@MsKelsieJH the grain free raw coated red
Stella and Chewys is on the list too for making dogs sick

Wish he would have given some options of what brand you CAN give ur pets.
Home cooked is best.
There are only 3 companies that make all the major brands. They hide everything, right down to who makes it
Unfortunately,he's prob.uncertain.They are seeing new brands w/issues also as this continues. Some thought safe, then not.My advice would be that if you want to stay w/comm. food is to only by small quanities at a time in case you have to stop it.
I switched to a brand that is only available from the veterinarian. Canin Hydrolyzed Protein. She has been doing well, but it's hella expensive.
@jodiemahovlic4612 the list I saw today has Canin as one if the brands that are causing problems. Just a heads up!
Thank you so much for this report 🙏 ❤️
We had a healthy cat seriously poisoned by "something" he was the only cat 🐈 out of 4 who was sick and the only one who ate purina!!
Please let us know when dog food you switched to. I have my dogs on proplan and was going to switch to Acana but now I am waiting to see what happens.
can you tell us what your feeding your dogs now? thats such a high list of products and more of which in the supermarkets are also bad as well. the list is getting shorter and getting any good ones are getting harder and expensive. let us know what are the good ones.
Funny enough the vet told me to stop giving my dogs raw diet and to go on purina. Glad I didn’t pay attention. Im not sure why she even recommended purina when she has told me many times that my dogs are healthy.
Id be afraid of that vet

There's no money to make on a healthy dog.
Unfortunately these big companies fund vet education and vet practices so of course the vets support them. Shame on them

Thank You for Information, Dr. Jones. It is always Good to Know before hand. We keep our pets side together.
So what brands are safe?
None of them , home meals
Cats eat raw meat.
Dogs eat raw meat and bones with a little fat.
Look into Metabolic Syndrome.
These YT channels will never say, because that doesn't generate clicks.
None of them! They all buy the same rendered meal products to make their kibble.
There are 3 dog food manufacturers Nestle owns Purina.

Great to hear you won the lawsuit against these terrible pet food companies 💔 many dogs have died
More people should join the class action lawsuits!
I spent a fortune on Science Diet for my two dogs, thinking
I was feeding them the best food. I was a fool. One died of cancer in Feb 2022, the other had kidney failure that November. I finally adopted a dog just yesterday. I'm making it my business to learn about pet nutrition and I'm learning to make dog food at home.
When I had chickens, I had that problem with one brand. I think it was Capitol. They were still laying, but one started aggressively eating eggs.
Unfortunately, diamond is on the possibly-contaminated foods. May be a supply chain issue.

Your absolutely correct! And Ive subscribed to her too stopped buying PURINA.
If this helps anyone....i spend about $20 extra a week, and go to my local grocery store and get
,turkey qizzards, chicken hearts, livers ,qizzards, legs, feet.beef liver, sardines, yogurt, pumpkin, broth, carrots, apple, and i look for marked down beef products.
I wonder if it’s the Friskies.!?😨😨😨😨😨
Thank you, Doctor and everyone in comments.
I will comment again with links to the published GOF research.
did the food come from China
Purina, Instinct, Stella and Chewy, Pure balance, Royal Canin, Merrik, Origin, Organix, Taste of the Wild, Hills, Acana, Blue Buffalo.
What’s wrong with Stella and chewy?
Pet food people should be ashamed but they are selling thing s for that can kill em people makeing em rich then something happens to our fur baby go to the vet 100 dollars OR SO
What's wrong with blue bufflo😮
Well, we will find out when all the testing comes back.
I’m so sorry for the people that lost their pets to this food
Thank you Dr. JONES. IM in that group and it's heartwrenching to read.
I'm thankful I feed my girl a balanced raw diet made in Canada.
I stopped feeding mine
This company should close up
Omg I feed my little yorkis that exact Purina type. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So what can we buy, commercially, that is affordable and will not kill our pets??
I also want to thank you heaps for all your videos and the info on pet care. 🙏🙏🙏
Yep, we were feeding a so called good brand, and our dogs kept getting ear infections. Switched to home made, no more ear infections.

Thank you Dr. Jones - Always can count on you to report things as it is happening and not folding to big box corporate pressure.
You're welcome
Thanks for the info, I had just read that story this morning. I hope that you can keep us updated. I'd like to see what the results of those independent tests will be!
Ive been feeding my pets Taste of the wild, one of my cats has been vomiting for 2 days and not eating or drinking, or moving much. This breaks my heart, stopped feesing it to my other pets. Please pray for my cat Ray to get better fast and eat☹ I made him home cooked but cant eat right now. I pray that all of our furry family recover and be heathly. Sending love and healing to you too.
So we need suggestions what to switch too?
Homemade is best
Stop feeding processed dog food.
The 3 companies that manufacters all the dog food are not gonna do better until it hits them in the wallet
Yes so what do we feed them ?? I like to order his stuff but in Canada it’s expensive for shipping it’s like 30$ plus the product and in American money
Make your own. Source ingredients you can trust. There are plenty of recipes our there.
@@heathertoonpleasure I kid u not. There are 3 major companies that make dog food. For the entire world.
Actually considered animal feed. Only people get food grade.
Any and all dead animal carcasses
Doesn't matter how they got dead (some being chemically induced)
3 people decide what's allowed in your dogs food
People that don't specifically like your dog
People that are very rich on selling their dog food to you.
So, since you report what foods are bad, what foods r u feeding your pet?
'He mentioned he was feeding his dog Acana but that food was on the list so he is switching it out. Didn't mention what he would switch to though.
I hope that the companies who have done this ALL fold up and go out of business!
blue buffalo had some action taken a few years ago. I can not remember the details, but I think it was for incorrect labeling of ingredients.
I hear rabbits are more efficient to raise than chickens. I'm going to start raising rabbits.
I used blue buffalo and my puppy got sick, bought a new bag same thing. Switched his food no problems since.
Nesley is poison and evil no wonder Purina is bad.
I introduced flaxseed and probiotics as you suggested in one of your amazing videos and her skin is getting better as her whole body got really affected by the medication.
thank you.
Salmon kibble gave my dog chronic pancreatitis. It's too rich. And most of it is farmed and dirty.
I have used Lamb and rice for awhile - but what did you switch to May I ask??? My Rottweiler is not only my companion but my protector as well.
@@BradfordHomesteadFEED raw!!!!
Taste of the Wild is owned by Diamond, and that ones on the list
@@SF-zy9bd thank you decided to not order more
My dog was on Purina Adult Complete, which is what they are feeding at the Humane Society. 💔
In the meantime, I'm looking for an affordable kibble that's not repeatedly processed at high heat, and and one that does not have a synthetic vitamin pack (which could be the cause).
Try Carna 4 it's made in Canada from real food is baked and batch tested, with no synthetic vitamins.
@@gailmckay5551Carna4 looks awesome but $7 per pound for kibble is hard to swallow…
I'm so glad you are covering this. THANK YOU
Virtue signalling is the worst kind of lie. Who mentioned ANYTHING about purebreds?
one of my small mixes has been eating Purina kibble for several years since the concerns about dilated cardiomyopathy related to other brands or formulas.
Thank you for this information.
Dr.Jones, I just wanted to tell you how greatly you are appreciated! Thank you so much for all the information you impart to us.
We need as many Vets and Pet parents involved to save these animals from being poisoned
I watched the entire webinar. Im still not clear as to what is safe for my very finicky dog. So sad we have to worry about this.
Oh my Gosh!!!! My meowy kids don't eat this stuff.... I have a family member that has used Purina Pro Plan, Instinct, Stella and Chewy others ... I was insistent mine kids not eat this...
