I worked in the office of a dairy farm. We had euthanized cows rotting in the "graveyard" above ground in the elements. most were euthanized with medication. The animals were collected monthly by a company that makes the "meat" byproducts. Then they sold those byproducts to pet food companies. There is a video here on YT called 'Pet Fooled'. Very educational.
Thanks Doc! God bless you brother!

Not surprised at all. The animals in the animal ag industry are loaded with pathogens and injected with antiobiotics, hormones etc. as well as being physically, emotionally and sexually abused, especially DAIRY COWS! Yet another good reason for going Vegan, and looking to a vegan diet for your dog.

Purina killed over 50 of our sanctuary cats in 2018! They bled out after we opened new bags of food & gave them canned Friskies also! Sixteen died within 2 weeks. The rest died within a span of a year. It destroyed their intestines, kidneys & liver. RIP my sweet furbabies 💔😿💔 I will never feed Purina or any brand using 4D meat, corn, wheat or soy 💔

@jimmylopez5209 please check Dr Andrew Jones and Dr Judy Morgan RUclips posts or buy one of their books about healthy cooking for dogs. Personally I bake chicken about 10lbs with carrots, celery and parsley. Also I make meatloaf from ground chicken and turkey ( 6lbs) with shredded carrots plus red, green and orange peppers. When you make dish add fruits like blueberries, raspberries, apples, banana, blackberries, pineapple ( the list goes long and you always can Google which fruits and veggies are safe to feed dogs). Every 3 days I steam fresh veggies like broccoli, carrots, kale, green collards, green and yellow zucchini, green beans. Butternut squash and pumpkin are great to add also to dish. I also bake beets . Always debone meat and store in safety glass container. I mix meat with 2 different fruits and 5 veggies. Also I add goat kefir or goat yogurt. Good luck 🐾

Its not a 'luxury', but -one does need to be prepared to spend enough to provide appropriate food, water, shelter, and care to one's dog or cat. Just as you wouldn't feed your child from the junk food section of CVS or Target aisle, our dogs and cats should be fed food that is species appropriate, higher quality, and not total garbage. Its great that we have videos like this to remind us not to trust the 'Big Box' companies that provide cheap garbage for food, to our beloved pets. They source cheap ingredients from China and other areas that have no quality controls. Best to buy pet food that is USA-sourced, no recalls, full of actual meat proteins, not 'meat meals', etc. I've mentioned in a few places here, Halo brand is fantastic. I gave my Husky this for 14 yrs. I also complimented it with human grade turkey, salmon, tuna, or sardines...as well frozen veggies (which she loved! :)), such as broccoli, and green beans. She also loved raw carrots. If we treat our pets like they are conscious and beloved beings (which they are), we will know how to care for them. :)

Dr. Jones, my 12 year old puppy, passed away last week, her head on my lap. I covered her with my tears and my favorite blanket as she grew cold, then colder.
She was the runt of the litter, #11 out of 11, and had lifelong health issues. I knew it was coming, and I was waiting for my roommate to come home from work to help me take her to the veterinarian. I never left her side as she struggled to breathe. You know what CHF looks and sounds like at the end stage. The end came fast, but it was graphic. It left a scar on my soul that may never heal .

Dr. Jones, Thank You for becoming involved in these conversations! Let me start by saying, I've worked in the pet care industry for years. I've had special needs dogs of my own & fostered others. I've managed a no-kill rescue. I've been a human investor. And...I worked for one of the top 2 pet food retailers for 7 years. Point being, I do NOT overreact to dogs/cats in my care displaying signs of illness. I closely monitor, adjust foods, etc before rushing to my vet (unless it's an obvious immediate threat to life, of course). Animals are my passion. Ok, now, back in November my 1 year old rescue dog started randomly vomiting. Then, it became once a day until day 5 when I took him to my vet (he was energetic, normal appetite, healthy stools, etc. So normal other than vomiting). After a $600 bill at my vet, his diagnosis was...dehydration!! Duh, he's vomiting! I got no answers so the first food I eliminated was the Stella & Chewy freeze dried dinner rounds of which he only got 1 a day. But, that absolutely eliminated the vomiting he'd been experiencing!
Next...I feed Purina Beyond dry kibble for my cats. They get a different brand of wet food as well. I'm not the biggest fan of Purina but have VERY picky cats who refused more expensive brands. I noted they have recently changed the look if their bag & I believe it may have have the word "Simply" in the name before. I got it because I interpreted it as a "limited ingredient" food. Anyway, I opened a new bag just a few days ago. My younger cat was sniffing it & walking away from the bowl. My elder cat was continuing to eat it. Yesterday I woke to bloody diarrhea in multiple places!!! Almost like where she was laying, it was just coming out beyind her control. I stopped the Purina kibble immediately & borrowed a brand of kibble from a friend with 5 cats who are not experiencing any illnesses. They love the food and both cats appear to be fine now. No more bloody diarrhea for more than 24 hours now.
The thing that frustrates me the most is that Purina is 100% denying there are any issues. Saying we're fear mongering, etc. I call absolute greedy corporate BS!! To all companies in suspect, DO THE RIGHT THING!! These are not "animals" to most of us, they are family. You are denying any possibility you could be making our "children" sick. Do INDEPENDENT testing if there is such a thing. The number of reports are just a fraction of the whole. Most per parents don't pursue the underlying cause of illness beyond their veterinarian. Because, they trust these corporations.
Again, Dr. Jones, I appreciate ALL you do to educate us each and every day! God Bless you and your work.

I am now using Open Farm for my dogs, from researching it sounded like a good choice although very expensive for my purse I don't want my other dogs to get sick.

It's heartbreaking to hear you lost your beloved pet because of Purina. I feel your loss. There's a vet here on You Tube, Dr Morgan, who is sounding the alarm on this matter. I was very pleased to see that the same messaging is coming out here. It's important and I deeply thank these doctors for standing up and calling out this concern, which I'm sure they're right about. It is a time-consuming task to prepare fresh cat food. But I figured out how much each cat (I have 3 that are different sizes) eats if eating the small 3 oz cans, and compared that to how much I would have to prepare of the raw or lightly cooked chicken for each cat, and the cost came out to be a little less then buying canned food.
I have been feeding all 3 cats a raw diet (developed by a veterinarian and posted online), for many years.
One newer cat to the family had teeth problems that I wasn't aware of until I took him to his first vet visit after he was rescued, and she told me he needed a number of teeth pulled!
After that, he only wanted to eat the patè instead of the raw.
He loves the Purina Fancy Feast, but now I will try him again on the homemade baby-food patè recipe I found.
The first time I made it, it tured out perfectly. I had not seasoned it at all so I think he thought it was too bland or boring compared to Fancy Feast. 😂
The other 2 cats only eat the raw (or lightly cooked chicken for one of them recently)
I had given one of them a half can of the Fancy Feast when I was in a rush and right after he ate the first mouthful, he immediately vomited it out.
About a month later I had given him a big spoonful of another Fancy Feat chicken patè, and same story.
      So no more canned food.
Oddly enough, the cat who had to have the teeth pulled still loves it, and has never thrown it up, but I am now afraid to give it to him and will work on creating a healthy, homemade food that he can eat with few teeth.

@@StitchFae If you look on most commercial dog food labels you'll see things like peas, carrots, seaweed, chicken, beef, fish, etc. They just eat what we eat with a few exceptions. No grapes, macadamia nuts, xylotol... There is good information on the internet about foods they can't eat.
I cook food for him like I would my child.
He gets certain herbs and spices, good olive oil, I brush his teeth with good coconut oil.
It's not hard at all and you learn more on the way.

He started refusing it at the same time tons of pet owners noticed something was wrong also. I had to get him into the ER and then urgent care while switching his food and he’s happily eating Nulo and Simply Nourish and he’s ok now! I saw over 60k people joined that group within 2-3 days-that is NOT a coincidence and I saw endless reports of the same timing and same issues. It’s not just Purina . I have calls in to Instinct as well as to Stella and chewy rabbit formula. We spent $2000 on our Chihuahua the first week of January. He already has so many environmental and food allergies as we spent 800 bucks on allergy testing a couple of years ago. The only protein he has not allergic to his rabbit, but both of these formulas had changed And he became extremely lethargic. He was trying to hide his food and cover it and just didn’t want to eat it. He was hungry but not for that. His ears swelled up and even his entire body. He had so much inflammation throughout and was itching like crazy. Ears were all speckled and red inside. Finally got our vet to refer us to a dermatologist about an hour away in Colorado Springs. He is now on a food trial with. Rayne Nutrition rabbit formula and he is doing both the canned and dry. it’s been a month and we have our follow up this Tuesday doing so much better!! They are poisoning not just the human food supply and water supply but also our precious pets.

This is where we found this company as well as others decided to outsource their protein from China which used melamine to con buyers their protein was higher. As a result many dogs went into kidney failure. We were in the medical field, so the Vet supplies IV bags to us and we had to give daily IV fluids to support their kidneys. We were blessed as our dogs made it, others weren’t so lucky. As Dr. Jones and other self educated Vets know there is no real oversight regarding pet food. If you think Big Pharma doesn’t care about their jabs and meds that make humans sick or die, why do you think they would care about our pets? We had our hens on Purina later feed, they ALL stopped laying and all started pecking each other and losing their feathers (they weren’t molting) …. Also, they started getting very runny stools and right before I switched their feed, they were refusing to eat the Purina layer feed..
After talking to several other chicken owners and our local farm store, I switched them to Beaver Brand (made in the pacific NW where I’m from) and immediately, in less than 3 days…. Related note: Many pet foods and probiotics contain a bacterium called enterococcus faecium. This is a VERY robust and inexpensive member of the staphylococcus family that's added to aid in digestion. The higher the protein, the higher the EF content.
Many dogs, especially northern and working breeds, have what we now call EFS, or EF Sensitivity. The bacterium essentially causes a chronic bacterial infection with symptoms that include volumionous, milkshake consistency stools, alopecia, poor thrift, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. EFS is often diagnosed as IBD or an absorption disorder. Treatment is often a probiotic which contains EF that worsens the issue. Dogs can and have died from EFS.
Treatment with metronitazole and/or albon will alleviate symptoms, but they quickly return as the problem is the diet. Because its so common, switching foods won't help, all of which can make it difficult to pinpoint and diagnose.
UK and European vets amd consumers seem to have a good knowledge of EFS. Some manufacturers remove EF from products destined for foreign markets.
If you suspect EFS, withdraw all products with EF from the diet and treat with metronitazole and albon.
Keep an eye on labels, too, as formulas change often.

This "pet food" issue is really a problem! I had been feeding Victor to my sheppys since they were puppies. After there latest recall bullcrap, said to myself gotta change! As fellow pet lovers know,we want the best for them. But the cost of everything has made it REALLY HARD to achieve. I changed kibble, like to do away with it entirely! Working on it. But i give them half of what i used to,and supplement the rest. If this helps anyone....i spend about $20 extra a week, and go to my local grocery store and get
,turkey qizzards, chicken hearts, livers ,qizzards, legs, feet.beef liver, sardines, yogurt, pumpkin, broth, carrots, apple, and i look for marked down beef products. We have chickens,so they get fresh eggs. You need to be creative and rotate and balance the food. I have a camp stove in my shop, sometimes i just sere the meats for smell and warmth........my GSD'S, have never been more excited for mealtime! Hang in there people, love on them doggies!!

The illness lasts about 3 weeks during which she refuses food and seems near death. I give her the malt gel to keep calories in her until she comes through. It’s horrible! The vet said there really isn’t anything that can be done.
    I wonder if it’s the Friskies.!?😨😨😨😨😨

I am about ready to loose my 5th dog in two weeks.they all suffered from severe parvo like symptoms.Vomiting, diarrhea which quickly turned into bloody vomit and diarrhea. I rescue dogs and caught it immediately. All the dogs were strong and heathy and I had Iv fluids going, antibiotics and anything thing else imaginable and the didn’t stand a chance. Most were dead in 24.48 hrs tops.the last one alive is Lucy, a strong athletic American Pitt bull Terrier that could clear six foot fences. She servived the initial infection only to be left with neurological abnormalities, seizures, myocardial and I suspect liver or kidney damage. It breaks my heart to put her down after she fought so hard to survive. All 5 dogs were on Purina canned Pro plus extra protein I had received from our local humane society as a donation.the dogs all got sick within the first ten days of starting the new food. This illness was the most aggressive illness I have ever seen, it really looked like a more deadly enhanced variant of Parvovirus.I thought to myself they wouldn’t be doing gain of function research on the Parvovirus could they? Well it turns out that they are. .By the way, Purina doesn’t want to talk to me and keeps disconnecting me. I will comment again with links to the published GOF research.

My dog had mucus diarrhea, pungent frequent gas and sometimes gastrointestinal sounds. He was on Acana kibble and canned. I had his stool tested and came back with Giardia. So we treated with the meds given. But it didn’t make a difference, plus he started a new symptom, vomiting. 2 weeks after finishing the meds I had another fecal test done and it came back negative for any Giardia or anything else. The vet said change his food. So, I switched to Dr. Harvey’s canine health, 20-22ounces of protein that I cook and the Dr Harvey’s health and shine oil plus I still gave him Acana canned. His stool improved but not completely and still vomiting. So, I dropped the Acana and now his stool is normal, and he has no more pungent gas or gastrointestinal sounds or vomit issues.

Six months ago I took my dog off Purina One, and EVERYTHING is better. Coat, skin, stools, energy, etc. I used Purina for decades then October 2022 my 3 y/o dog developed a severe skin allergy after I bought him a small bag of the venison and sweet potato. He usually ate the chicken and rice, so I figured it was the different ingredients and threw out the venison, got chicken again. He got better but not up to snuff and then the allergies came back after a couple more bags of chicken and rice. Decided maybe Purina was pkaying with ingredient quality, so tried him on different food. His skin completely healed within a couple weeks AND his poop is better than it's ever been. He always had kind of weird stools, hard at first then runny at the end. That's gone now, too. I realize now my old dogs before him also had some issues with Purina One, but they happened gradually so I didn't make the connection. I think Purina has probably been steadily lowering the ingredient quality to increase profit, or maybe their wholesale ingredient suppliers have. Whatever, this was a great video and confirmation of what I suspected : Purina is no longer any good.

My dog was on Purina Adult Complete, which is what they are feeding at the Humane Society. He has some itching, so I decided to transition his kibble to a better brand with salmon. He's doing a little better, but I am now supplementing his food with human grade toppers, pasture raised organic eggs, and raw goat milk which I just got today. I'm just so glad I got him completely off the Purina before potentially buying a newer bag that may contain a bad batch. It's heartbreaking what's happening! 💔
In the meantime, I'm looking for an affordable kibble that's not repeatedly processed at high heat, and and one that does not have a synthetic vitamin pack (which could be the cause). I live in the country where organic meats are not readily available except for ground beef. I don't trust chicken that was fed corn because of roundup used in cornfields, and no one sells organic chicken locally... so all I can do is look for better kibble and supplement with organic raw when I can get it. I just cannot afford to buy premade raw diets online, at least not at today's prices!

I found my way to the Facebook group mentioned here. This is not coincidental. It may not be intentional, but the common denominator in many cases is this brand. I’m struggling to find a new food mine will eat. I’ve been making her food and topping another brand of kibble. She’s far too important to risk harming her. I just hope she is okay. I was feeding Stella & Chewy's to one of my three dogs, and she got diarrhea starting early in December. But only 1/4th of her food was Stella & Chewy's. Another fourth was Small Batch, and the other half was homemade food. I gave her Slippery Elm and homeopathic medications for the diarrhea, and it would disappear for a few days and then come back. Since I took her off Stella & Chewy's completely, it has not returned. I think that one reason why she didn't get as sick as other dogs is because she was only getting 1/4th of her food from Stella & Chewy's, and because I was doing a lot for all three of my dogs to help prevent digestive problems. But I don't know for sure whether the food was the culprit or not. It might have just been coincidence. But it hasn't returned since I stopped the Stella & Chewy's, so I don't for sure. Still, better safe than sorry.
Years ago one of my previous dogs was made sick by the melamine in pet food problem. She survived, but having to switch her so suddenly caused major digestive problems, and I vowed ever since that I would feed more than one brand of food to my pets at a time so that if there is a recall, or a shortage, or a company that goes out of business, I would not have to make such a drastic change to their diet so suddenly. I've had to deal with other recalls, companies going out of business, and food being out of stock when I was running short because I forgot to order more, or thought I still had some. And having other food to fall back on has saved us repeatedly.

The last time I opened a bag of Purina beniful was for my mum's dog and what flew out blew my friggin mind and I wish I had recorded it on video, but I opened a bag of beniful small dog sized food and a ton of moths flew outta the bag when I checked the expiry date it was a fresh delivered bag it took me 3 weeks to get every last month out of my mum's apt. There were so many moths I thought there was a plague happening everything was covered in moths ! After that I never bought another bag from them and even changed companies for her dog food and oh btw I do know where the food was made in st Mary's ont. Canada and btw if people knew wtf the animal by products are and from where it comes from well let's just say don't go to st Mary's ont in the hot summers cause the factory where Purina gets their ahem " animal by products " from really stinks and is a constant BAD place to be at ! So bad that the property owners across the street only sell the property in the off season ( winter months) because of the stench which makes people sick !

Cannot help but wonder if this is all part and parcel of what has been going on in the past 4 years. I know dry pet food has been an issue for a long time...but it seems to have drastically increased. Seems there are so many recalls for many things including food, medications, etc. It is clear the Powers that be are making life harder and harder and I am so grateful to Dr. Jones for being a big part of the Solution and for speaking the Truth!

While on Purina Beneful one of my Toy poodles had severe liver problems. Vet called me asking if Id been using chemicals. We dont and they coukdmt save him! Meanwhile all my breeding bitches developed Pyometra which can kill quickly. All had to be speyed. Only after I read about about the deaths and lawsuits in the US did I realize it was that! I foolishly recently tried other Purina products but after the reports coming through changed diet!

We need as many Vets and Pet parents involved to save these animals from being poisoned

My dogs (2) got very sick, one almost died after switch to Purina Pro Plan. I just tried to share this info in a Vets Only group on FB only to be promptly removed. I feel like they are complicit in the poisoning and are still raving about Purina as one of their favorites. Meanwhile so many in that group are having these horrible symptoms.

I feed my cat Purina One Sensitive Systems and it has helped him with his stomach issues. He was on a high quality food called Halo which is expensive and he threw up on that food and got hairballs a lot. Purina One it is rare he throws up. He doesn't have dandruff anymore since I put him on Purina One. He used to itch so much before. I tried him on Rachel Ray cat food too and he threw up so much I took him to the Vet and $500 later after testing it was determined it was the food.

I learned about purina in a vet tech school circa 1978, i had to many of my 9 year old goldens died on any kibble living in Southern Maryland, Stella & Chewy was sold out and then made 6 dogs sick, we had six and likely killed our Stately Gentlman, I knew something was wrong could not feed and a local store i trusted still sells them, i was out 35.00 and knew it was the only thing they ate, i use Badlands ranch,i not been so pleased with coats and eyes clearing to many benefits to mention hear, i have known, so thank you for bringing it up again, to long of negative history for me with 4 senior dogs ages 7 and 9.

You have helped me so much restore the health of my dog. I changed his food to Farmer’s dog and all his skin problems (mostly staff) have disappeared after two weeks. Also, your advice on his reoccurring ear infection worked!!! I’m so happy.
