Tim pointed out the houndstooth gearing on the dial side, but there appears to be houndstooth gearing on several different wheels on the back of the watch as well. I'm guessing those help with backlash, hence the smoother operation, and likely higher movement efficiency. Fantastic!
I always felt that the indices around 12 were the most significant, so to speak. I don’t like omitted indices, but I especially do not like omitted indices at 12.

For what this is and the level of finishing this is actually pretty decent value.
