I love this song. I used to hear this when my kids were still at St. Theresa's. Thank you Sr. Monique Huart, FMA. You are the BEST! We miss you so much. Thank you all Salesian Sisters and Priests. God bless you. St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello, pray for us!
Fr. Steve was the director at Don Bosco Tech in Paterson NJ when I was there. We would sing this song during mass. He was a good man who guided us in the right direction. Class of 2002 here.
Well said! I’m publishing a weekly RUclips video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you..
This brings tears to my eyes I went to a school that was run by the Salesian’s and it closed the year I graduated but this was a retreat song such great memories
I went to Salesian High in New York and was forced at the bimonthly school day masses to sing this ode to the Northern Italian pedophile whose leering face on large marble bust stood almost directly inside the immediate walking path of the building's main entrance and confronted us every day of school as if to say "abandon all hope and submit to anti-intellectual brutality and grab-ass-tic priests, ex-cop teachers, and general undercurrent of moronic evil." Can't say I miss it.
This is so good.. wouldn't it be great as an overhead!? We had a great practise last night Gelly.. thank you! Hey Godfrey.. a very Happy Birthday to you and we sure appreciate your devotion in doing the overheads as well as singing with us ... you are terrific. Hope you had a great day.. Jan made a luscious cake for you.. which we enjoyed but sure missed you!

Thank you for posting this song and lyrics.
I had the fortune of meeting Fr. Steve Schenck back in the 80s. It's wonderful to see his legacy live on.
