It's about the true story of a longtime friend of yoongi's who also pursued music and they promised that they would "make it" together, over time though the friend stopped contacting him and yoongi gets a call from his friend's parents, telling him that his friend was in the detention center, and the implication was that his friend had gotten addicted to drugs. In south korea all drug use heavily HEAVILY penalized, and when yoongi visited his old friend at the detention center, his friend tried convincing him to also use drugs. A sad story about a people changing into something unrecognizable

Hasool actually makes you feel like you are drunk listening to it. Set me Free is just incredibly cinematic which is a signature thing he does. Dear My Friend gets me because I’m still incredibly angry at people, I’ve lost (to death or prison) over drugs too. He captured that perfectly.

Every single song on it is no skip, hits you in some way, and if you look at it start to finish you just see - once again - that yoongi is an absolute master storyteller. my favourite song ever is on this album and it's the one that genuinely changed my mindset and pushed me out of the worst depression i've ever had. yoongi makes music that keeps you company on the floor before he takes your hand and says, 'let's try getting up when you're ready'. every one talks about agust d for being a rebel against the system - the greatest act of rebellion in this world is self-love. he taught me that.

No gonna lie, I know most people like Agust D's brightest songs like "People" or "28", or the hard hitting ones like "Daechwita", "What Do You Think?", But for me, "Honsool" is my #1 out of this album, I live for dark atmospheric songs with heavy lyrics, "Burn It" is my second favorite, third is "Moonlight"... the whole mixtape is genius, no skips.

Honestly the members of bts individually and as a group have so many good songs, so sometimes there are songs that I do not listen to so much. Except for People, Daechwita, 28 and Strange, I hardly listen to the other songs, and today thanks to your reaction I listen to them again and Damm, they are all such good songs, set me free also listened to it recently thanks to Set me free pt.2 by Jimin. And it is that their songs never fail, I know D-day will be very different from Agust D and D-2, but right now I'm more excited for the debut album. As Army we must learn to value these songs more because they are art, there is no way that a group is formed by such good artists.

I listen to People the most but Moonlight, Strange and Set me free are my first 3 favorites off this album and People is 4th. Just such a spectacular, well-rounded, hard hitting yet beautiful piece of art that this entire mixtape is.
After a while i realized that Dear My Friend could be more than what i was seeing on a surface level, i think Yoongi had some really deep feelings for that person and it's why he hates them so much and yet misses them at the same time. I know we can feel that for friends too but to carry it with you for several years, go through so much just to visit them despite your hectic schedule, go over and over in your head about what went wrong, if it was you or them who changed, or both... idk, it reminds me a lot of my actual first best friend who i had feelings for, i carried that weight for years and i still do miss them, though it has calmed down through the years.

Agust d is just so raw, its very difficult to read his lyrics sometimes without feeling some sort of pain. Which is why I usually just listen to him on Spotify and don't read the lyrics except for when the song actually releases for the first time and through reactions. Dear my friend is just so heartbreaking cus its just so real. We try to save people around us because we love them but end up with the biggest dissapointment when we realise they don't want to be saved. Honsool is just so reflective, it also talks about the heavy drinking culture in korea in a way. The song I always return to as comfort in lyric is definitely People. Can wait for the release of d-day, we got people pt 2 and more amazing collabs and amazing music videos coming up from agust d. I'm so excited.

idk what type of phone you have but if you have a Samsung, I highly recommend having one of Suga's Samsung remixes as a ringtone or alarm or something. He has made two ringtones for Samsung (2021 and 2022) and personally 2021 is my personal favorite. If you don't have a Samsung, I think you can listen to them on YT somewhere.

I listen to People the most but Moonlight, Strange and Set me free are my first 3 favorites off this album and People is 4th. Just such a spectacular, well-rounded, hard hitting yet beautiful piece of art that this entire mixtape is.

After a while i realized that Dear My Friend could be more than what i was seeing on a surface level, i think Yoongi had some really deep feelings for that person and it's why he hates them so much and yet misses them at the same time. I know we can feel that for friends too but to carry it with you for several years, go through so much just to visit them despite your hectic schedule, go over and over in your head about what went wrong, if it was you or them who changed, or both... idk, it reminds me a lot of my actual first best friend who i had feelings for, i carried that weight for years and i still do miss them, though it has calmed down through the years.

Agust d is just so raw, its very difficult to read his lyrics sometimes without feeling some sort of pain. Which is why I usually just listen to him on Spotify and don't read the lyrics except for when the song actually releases for the first time and through reactions.

idk what type of phone you have but if you have a Samsung, I highly recommend having one of Suga's Samsung remixes as a ringtone or alarm or something. He has made two ringtones for Samsung (2021 and 2022) and personally 2021 is my personal favorite. If you don't have a Samsung, I think you can listen to them on YT somewhere.

Honestly, you're not dumb for needing time to absorb an album, on the contrary that makes you really reflexive and thoughtful, and when it comes to BTS you need to take your time, it's incredible how many meanings and interpretation you can come up with the same song with each listen, I'm still understanding their lyrics. They themselves have said that they write layered lyrics to make music that gives you something new each time you comeback, their art is really special.
