Well ... I was thinking why he said he's good at driving doing part-time delivery job while he's under Big Hit trainee and also attending high school/cyber college. We all knew that he went into accident at interaction while driving scooter/motor cycle and that fu*cked him up. His shoulder was shattered (some sources said it's not broken. He dislocated it and that tore his labrum and rotator cuff) and he at first couldn't tell the truth about it because he's worried about dropping off from the debut lineup and he's also working parttime outside between training (Big Hit) and school. The car tyre was only two inches away when he opened his eyes and he was left there by himself. It's like hit-and-run while he's doing delivery job to cover his school fees. But, when Big Hit found out about this, they covered their tuition expenses and they didn't remove him from the line up. Though he has a long-term problem with his shoulder and injected pain killers while touring and finally was able to do surgery in 2020, 7 or 8 years later. Now, he can turn full range of his hands. He did go to habitation. But, here we are, he's joking that he's good at driving. It's one of his past traumas which he's trying to overcome.

Exactly, one of the reasons I admire him. He's always his calm self and doesn't do over the top reactions. He isn't an openly affectionate person, but he doesn't fake it to fit in, and he only talks when he has something to say. I'm sure a lot of introverts and less expressive people can relate, growing up there was always a pressure to act more talkative and bubbly to fit it. Seeing him just always being himself helps a lot.

For those who don't know, he's really neutral about being a food delivery guy not because he's embarrassed, but because he had an accident while doing deliveries and hurt his shoulder really bad, but couldn't afford to go to the doctor then, because he was broke. He suffered with it for almost 9 years and said that sometimes after performing he wouldn't be able to lift his hand. The happy ending is that he finally underwent a risky surgery during covid, got a lot of physiotherapy and is all better now 💜

He probably doesn’t realize how much of an inspiration he is to so many people throughout the world. Anybody that has struggled with or know someone who has depression, OCD and social phobias know that life can sometimes be rough. Yoongi brings hope and comfort to those who are struggling.
Although we ALL KNOW Yoongi is fluent in English, I respect that he respects his language and culture enough to continue to speak Korean in influential spaces. I think it’s a conscientious choice on his part. I think he doesn’t want to lose himself to the western world and find himself only speaking English in these types of situations. (Like the live he did where someone asked him to speak English and he said “no, I will speak Korean”). I am speaking from person opinion but I think it stems from him not wanting to lose that he is a Korean man, born and raised in Korea, and doesn’t want to feel pressured to have to appeal to a western audience if it means he loses who he is and where he comes from. All the other BTS members make an effort to learn and speak English in these types of spaces/situations; and all-while i respect that and think it’s a great life/language/social skill, I immensely respect that yoongi doesn’t conform to anything. He remains completely authentic in all situations. There is something to be said about that. He is very dry most of the time, and those who haven’t followed him or his journey probably wouldn’t fully understand him or who he is watching him, but those who are seasoned fans would totally understand and respect why he is the way he is and why he is who he is. He is completely refreshing to a western audience and I will continue to have nothing but respect for him.
Nah. He's very individualistic. Thinking in English is too much work and he'd rather be comfortable. English for him probably serves as something he needs (reading, listening, speaking) when NECESSARY. He's fluent, he just prefers being comfortable and won't unnecessarily stress himself. He has a "savage" personality type even when he's not trying because he's highly individualistic. He's a "my personal values comes first" type of guy, and will reserve as much energy as the introvert that he is. I feel like a lot of people will misunderstand his demeanor. He is such a cat lol. He uses a very "Occam's razor" type of logic. Too much mental work, low returns = nope. Thinking in another language that you recently started learning is sooooo much mental work, and because you can't express yourself fully, you lose parts of yourself when conversating. So it's easier for him to be comfortable.

@@farawaykin I am guessing they had an ear piece, some Korean shows do this with foreign guests. i wasn't there but in this uploaded edit it feels seamless. Also, they always rehearse these shows once previously and should check with the artist's management about the questions.The once he asked infer that since they are not condescending nor repetitive ones. 😊

i really do want people to drop the "savage and dark" description. he may have been perceived that way in some specific cases in the past, but that is far from who he is, especially in recent years. even back then, it wasn't out of "savagery". i hope we can all do better when it comes to commenting on people's personalities and not limit them to a one-dimensional (and often false) image.

I don't think he was nervous, he usually doesn't make much eye contact. He less nervous than Jimin: to be polite Jimin didn't cross his legs, Suga did; Suga didn't turn his when drinking with an older person. He actually made some sassy jokes.

Me too... like I would unconsciously turn away and then force myself turn back and look at the speaker's eye because I know its impolite. But then when I'm drifting off again I'll loose the eye contact again. It's really painful to be aware of this every second you talk to someone. Also like putting hair down, to cover the eye-contact. My mom used to be so annoyed about me putting my hair down and covering my face.

I loved how Jimmy actually dives in with these questions, even tries playing the haegum and takes a shot of whiskey. I have so much appreciation for him. Also, Yoongi coming in with these jokes! He gets more and more charming every time I see him.
First of all, how amazing to see a traditional Korean instrument brought out and being highlighted on a mainstream American talk show. So cool. (Korean traditional/fusion music is really great. I highly recommend it.) Second, how far American talk shows and hosts have come in preparing for and executing these interviews with international stars who are not native English speakers. I love hearing the mix of English and Korean in the interview. Whoever the translator(s) is/are they did a great job. Plus the questions were all really thoughtful and you can tell the team did their research. Finally, Suga is just so cool. I love how every member of BTS is amazingly talented and a total star in and of themselves. His aesthetic and incorporating traditional Korean instruments are lovely too.

For those who don't know, he's really neutral about being a food delivery guy not because he's embarrassed, but because he had an accident while doing deliveries and hurt his shoulder really bad, but couldn't afford to go to the doctor then, because he was broke. He suffered with it for almost 9 years and said that sometimes after performing he wouldn't be able to lift his hand. The happy ending is that he finally underwent a risky surgery during covid, got a lot of physiotherapy and is all better now 💜

Although we ALL KNOW Yoongi is fluent in English, I respect that he respects his language and culture enough to continue to speak Korean in influential spaces. I think it’s a conscientious choice on his part. I think he doesn’t want to lose himself to the western world and find himself only speaking English in these types of situations. (Like the live he did where someone asked him to speak English and he said “no, I will speak Korean”). I am speaking from person opinion but I think it stems from him not wanting to lose that he is a Korean man, born and raised in Korea, and doesn’t want to feel pressured to have to appeal to a western audience if it means he loses who he is and where he comes from. All the other BTS members make an effort to learn and speak English in these types of spaces/situations; and all-while i respect that and think it’s a great life/language/social skill, I immensely respect that yoongi doesn’t conform to anything. He remains completely authentic in all situations. There is something to be said about that. He is very dry most of the time, and those who haven’t followed him or his journey probably wouldn’t fully understand him or who he is watching him, but those who are seasoned fans would totally understand and respect why he is the way he is and why he is who he is. He is completely refreshing to a western audience and I will continue to have nothing but respect for him.

He's very individualistic. Thinking in English is too much work and he'd rather be comfortable. English for him probably serves as something he needs (reading, listening, speaking) when NECESSARY. He's fluent, he just prefers being comfortable and won't unnecessarily stress himself.
He has a "savage" personality type even when he's not trying because he's highly individualistic. He's a "my personal values comes first" type of guy, and will reserve as much energy as the introvert that he is. I feel like a lot of people will misunderstand his demeanor. He is such a cat lol. He uses a very "Occam's razor" type of logic. Too much mental work, low returns = nope.
Thinking in another language that you recently started learning is sooooo much mental work, and because you can't express yourself fully, you lose parts of yourself when conversating. So it's easier for him to be comfortable.
Kuddos to Fallon. Suga is not easy to Interview because he doesn't play at nice or aim to entertain. He is just purely himself, and that's not easily understood.

Me too... like I would unconsciously turn away and then force myself turn back and look at the speaker's eye because I know its impolite. But then when I'm drifting off again I'll loose the eye contact again. It's really painful to be aware of this every second you talk to someone. Also like putting hair down, to cover the eye-contact. My mom used to be so annoyed about me putting my hair down and covering my face.

I loved how Jimmy actually dives in with these questions, even tries playing the haegum and takes a shot of whiskey. I have so much appreciation for him. Also, Yoongi coming in with these jokes! He gets more and more charming every time I see him.

First of all, how amazing to see a traditional Korean instrument brought out and being highlighted on a mainstream American talk show. So cool. (Korean traditional/fusion music is really great. I highly recommend it.)
Second, how far American talk shows and hosts have come in preparing for and executing these interviews with international stars who are not native English speakers. I love hearing the mix of English and Korean in the interview. Whoever the translator(s) is/are they did a great job. Plus the questions were all really thoughtful and you can tell the team did their research.
Finally, Suga is just so cool. I love how every member of BTS is amazingly talented and a total star in and of themselves. His aesthetic and incorporating traditional Korean instruments are lovely too.
