Team Green...Always!
"after riding it I was only medium scared" Love it! There are a few guys in Michigan that I see riding these things(KX500s) in tight single track, that takes so serious throttle control.
That is awesome!
I have been reviving a 93. It was left in a shed for like 20 years. New oil, gas, clean carb, and a plug.and it fired right up.
Good stuff
Excellent job Jay. Thanks for keeping the KX 500 spirit alive...beautiful bike 😎
Can't believe I missed this...this is awesome!
Keeping the big bore two stroke alive 👍. Keep up the excellent work, and thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks, will do!
Scared.....Waaaaaaaaaa...LOL I raced KXs and a 82 CR 480 for years back in the 80s fun bikes. Good build guy's!
You can tell he loves the bike. Thats one baddass 500 ...very very nice build.
Very cool going to have to rebuild my team green kx500 that’s been sitting since the Vegas to Reno races! This really motivated me to get itr done!
Good luck!
Such a cool bike
One of the best restorations I'd ever seen. Very clean!
Beautiful! Love the old bike builds! Almost done with an 85 CR250R myself..
That's cool!
Awesome build! I think it would look even better with the original number plate and front fender!
Great job the bike came out great the more people who save these old classics the better !! It's still hard for to hear lots of younger racers/pro's have never ridden a two stroke let alone the range of 500's which were the elite class back in the day ...
Thanks for sharing Got my 02 torn down and ready to go through
Good luck!
Needs a Camel Supercross decal on the shrowed
Bike looks great, hope I can check it out. Lets see how Donnie feels about it 😉
Can't wait!
Your the best!
that's amazing .. it started on the first kick .... 😄
My Dream bike! Let me keep dreaming...Awesome job guys!
Thanks!
So so clean is that a 1992
My frist bike was a 1992 kx80 I remember that awesome seat logo with the pink brush stroke . I really want to find one like ours . One day if you sell yours let me know I’ll pay shipping 💰💨
Great job... the updated front plate and front fender make it look alot more modern
Thanks!
@@dirtbiketv1 what is the front number plate and fender year and are they stock front forks
great video as always. awesome bike
I love the KX 500 not a big fan of that front fender and number plate but nice bike .😎
I like the old school look 😁
Awsome!!!
Sounds dam good with that exhaust
Got me to laugh when you said "we don't want any throttle problems right" LOL Heck no we would definitely not want a throttle problem! BONSAI !!! LOL Oh, by the way, the big green machine looks mean.
I had my 465cc 2-stroke get the throttle stuck wide open when i was 14 and no amoumt of brakes could stop it (ended up with the front wheel locked up skidding with the back wheel digging a trench till i bailed and let it run outve fuel in the carb laying on its side waiting for the motor to blow 😳😂😂)
Do you ever sell these bikes or are they the property of the magazine? My best friends dad had one when we were kids, the thing terrified me!
Looks amazing good job!
Thanks!
Yes!!!
That bike is running so lean. Holy shit damn that was crazy.
I found my 2004 kx500 in Fairbanks Alaska back in 2012 it’s been a great bike I would never part with it.
That thing will vibrate your fillings out, the wife will love it though...
Y'all ready to build my KX500 motor for me? Need to find someone to blast it clean like that.
Sheesh I’m build one now but great video!!
Have fun!
Jay you an Clint Lund should get together he does some awesome builds you 2 should do a build off and compare the bikes with pro riders to test them also
Yes-- good dude for sure-
Gorgeous build but im not a fan of the front guard/plate combo (just a personal taste thing, still a beautiful build 👍)
Very nice bike
Thanks ✌️
Looks awesome, my dream bike right there but impossible to find here in Ireland.
What year frame and forks, triple clamp/steering stem did you guys use??

What silencer did you use?
We made one with FMF parts-- they dont sell one ---
@@dirtbiketv1 Which parts did you use?
@@PeteFreyPeteFro -- from a few different bikes and did some cutting and welding- -not even sure as its been 6 months ago - bummer they dont make one
No way those forks were only $300
8 years later
Awesome build Jay👍,any graphics planned for it?
Why did you go through all that work and use an old crappy steel chassis?
