Screaming Cockatoo Throws a Tantrum

- Some days you just need to tell the world all about your problems. In so many ways I'm just like a toddler with really big feelings. Although I threw a wobbler, I didn't have anything specific to yell about - and couldn't even tell momager what was wrong. I felt much better after I had a good yell, then it was time to relax on the perch and consider a nap.
I get upset quickly and I calm down just as easily. My momager knows to give me the space I need to vent my big feelings. She stays calm and waits it out. She also keeps her hands away when I am upset - during a tantrum I'm not always rational about my actions. Tantrums don't last long when you feel safe and secure. My hooman understands that it's just part of me being a bird - I can be very loud, but it's my way to express myself.
On a scale of one to ten I rate this tantrum as a Moluccan. The numbers just don't make sense.

Thank you for showing this side of these wonderful birds as well. Too many are abandoned and are in shelters because many dont know the other sides of taking care of a parrot. I would be a bad parrot owner, plus I live in a tiny condo, so for now it would be unfair to thd birds and my neighbors, but I do sure appreciate you lovely owners who share these birds with me so I can enjoy them from afar 😀

Wish there were more people like you...Yes, they do require lots of work,and can be quite loud. Lol 😂 Like Max can. I've had birds, which are still alive but with another family. I moved and didn't think they should be couped up with 5 cats in a car. I have cats still,so I too live my love of birds on here like you ❤❤

Oh, Max, I’m sure you don’t yell for no reason! Something is bothering you! I wish you could tell your wonderful momager! We all get like this sometimes, but eventually things turn around and get better! I love you, sweet boi!

Wow max that's a big tantrum you have there, lucky momager understand it that you sometimes don't know why you have one and must yell, and can't tell her in words what's wrong. Lucky that tantrums don't last long and momager gives you the space to express yourself. Could it be that you are upset that you can't go out for a walk right now?♥🥰🥰
Momager is mean. She refuses to turn up the outdoor heat. Minus 30C is her fault!!

He's too wild to keep as a pet. He belongs in nature. He's not a toddler nor does he tantrum like one.
Max isn't as bad as some other ones , he's a sweety really , who just loves his apples . Just got a strong personality is all ! He laughs a lot too! Don't make up your mind on one tantrum !

They are so very difficult to be around and deal with, they change their mind at the drop of a hat and if you don’t give them what they want immediately they have hissy fits and serious temper tantrums.

I’ve been reading the comments and it seems to me that people cater to his demands way too much. Max doesn’t seem to have any limitations in his behavior, so his demands come out as angry orders, and no one has ever challenged his demands and screaming.
Momager treats me like a toddler having a tantrum. I don't get my way by screaming.
