The Night Road definitely looked better the first two zones and then when it came to getting more angular, that’s where the Hyroad Pearl shined. Definitely a place for both in a bag

Great comparison! In the future, would you be able to clarify on some terminology like "smoother" vs. "cleaner" etc?
As a newbie, I always hear the terms in different videos, but I don't quite get it
Smoother and cleaner are terms that are used to tell when a ball starts to hook on the lane. A smooth ball will typically start to hook earlier but won’t be super angular at the end of the lane. A clean ball will go farther down the lane before it hooks but will have a more angular reaction. Smoother balls are usually used when the oil is more fresh and cleaner balls are used when the oil is transitioned or burnt. Hope this helps.

I still don't really get what 'continuous' and 'rolly' mean, myself. I know that the former is considered a bit iffy to use as a term these days, at least in certain contexts.
I think it has to do with the house because the house that like films in is more soupy and doesn’t how as much friction as does Luis’ house
Luke hated his axiom pearl, My ball roll is very similar to Luke’s and mine is nails at my center so the night looks like a ball that needs friction early to start
I’ve thrown the night road at two centers so far and it has looked great at both!

Lou, I was been watching other videos of the Night Road, like from Luke, and it does not look good at all. He has a very critical review of it on his channel.
Another reviewer had similar problems. He could only play straight from the right with it, the moment he moved left it was an over/under nightmare.
You are the only reviewer who really makes the Night Road look really good from the inside who doesn't have 500+ rpms though I did see a bit of the over/under even with you.
You had to be more perfect with the Night Road compared to the HyRoad Pearl and I bet if you compare the Night Road to the Dark Moss that will become even more apparent.
Video Tip: Turn off Auto Exposure. The camera keeps pumping up and down on your dark Jersey. 😉
I think the reason is that compared to the other reviewers, Louis has a slower ball speed and is bowling on a higher friction surface. Like Luke said in his video, the Night Road is allergic to oil.
I’ve seen a lot of people not matching up with this ball but it’s a match made in heaven for me
@@LuisNapoles That's how it is sometimes. I'm probably even slower speed than you are, and I do 95% of my bowling at one center which is high friction. It looked bonkers good at the demo day for me after a couple of strong pieces went down the lanes.
I'm with you on the gap thing with these two balls. Several times I've switched to the Pearl in the 7th, 8th frame of the final game of the series. It's just too clean at times for my game. I have very high hopes for this night road.
THATS why I love the night road! Similar shape but I can get into it sooner!
Luis, what is your layout using 2LS? I think your dual angle layout for symmetrical is 30x4x30 and I tried using a converter and it said 4x3.5x1.8 but I am not sure that is right.

Night road looks like a bargain bin IQ tour solid. Im still gonna buy it and give it a chance but i dont have massive hopes for it.

Neither of these will be similar or stronger. A 900 Global Zen will be as close as you can get or MAYBE a Phaze V

If you had to make a ball comparison where you have the hy road original ball with the shiny pearl cover stocks and the zen master ball which one would you leave in the bag and would it be better to hit the hyroad with a pad or put the zen master in bag. Right now I have the infinite physic in bag and the hy road and the wolverine moss in bag in a typical house league. Thanks

Luis, THANK YOU for giving us a "real bowler's" assessment of the two balls.
First off, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU regarding the two balls. The Night Road is definitely a "fresh/thick" oil ball whereas the HyRoad Pearl is more of a "beat-up/not-so-thick" oil ball. IOW, start the block with Night Road then transition to HyRoad Pearl when Night Road starts to "lose it, etc."
Second, the FE2 core appears to be a good "match" for A LOT of Storm covers - they need to do some experimentation with core/cover combos. It would be interesting to see the FE2 core inside a "Tropical Storm" shell or one of their Urethane shells.
Third, storm REALLY (REALLY!!) needs to bring back the ** FE3 ** core, specifically the ** VICTORY ROAD ** ball! I, personally, bowled my best games/series with a Victory until it decided to "disintegrate" from all the use I gavbe it. The HyRoad Pearl replaced it and, well, it serves me well but I REALLY MISS the Victory! IMO, I think the "REX" cover might be a "near perfect" match for the "FE3" core!

I think Storm should just make it simple do a Hy Road Solid with R2S or R3S or even R4S so it will be a little stronger than the OG every time they go to a way stronger cover its not a very good ball, this ball won't make it to next summer as the pros will never roll it.
They made a Hy-Road Solid with R2S Solid already. Nobody liked that either 🤷🏻♂️

From what I see the Night is stronger so better for striking but the Hyroad Pearl is more versatile and controllable. I’m not looking for many balls so I’d like the more versatile.
