since a lot of people seem interested, I tried to push this video out a bit faster.
Anyway, Dragon strike IS NOT footstooling, dragon strike uses hit lag and speed to plunge. while footstooling is DEPENDENT on enemy collusion. you can't foot stool on a tree
dragon strike is a new tech that allow you to plunge, not only giving you more style point, and avoiding damage in the process, but it also let you do MORE DAMAGE.
on diluc, it could result in 40% Damage gain. on other characters i don't actually know lol because i was lazy to do the calculation
Character that so far can do this:
Diluc beidou Noelle Chonghua Xinyan Keqing Xinqiu (all sword character should be able to with good timing) xiao zhong li (tall character)

Tbh, that is the mark of a true top tier. One of the best characters already even if you play him brainlessly, but then his kit affords him the ability to get more technical and really increase damage output.

So Diluc needs Diona shield movement speed boost if he is not using anemo resonance to do dragon strike reliably. I tried it with 2 geo resonance and 2 pyro resonance but diluc lacks speed to do the plunge.

i finally know exactly how to pull it off consistently and i'm loving it. i killed my entire world today just playing around with this. there's like a few hillichurls left in mondstadt and some treasure hoarders in liyue but the vaaaaaaast majority of elites are gone.
it sucks that i have to have diona in my party (or even worse, two anemos), but in the overworld that doesn't matter much.
This is kinda a great discovery hope mihoyo didn't consider this a bug :v
Hope so, or even better they might not even able to fix it like in some game where some bug are tied to the game physic engine (Half Life etc). Tho I doubt that since they could just remove/reduced hit lag which should be ez enough but one could hope
This seems pretty similar the bug albedo had where he would get launched high into the sky after hitting a tree while standing on the platform
You still need skill to pull it off plus its not like something is not working right

I'm not sure why plunge is so limited anyway. Dash jump should always lead to plunge. It's so useless on most characters especially in abyss and domains that I never even look at the stats for it. It's not as if the damage is broken and it would be easily limited by stamina required to dash jump.
This is really op for diluc considering his high plunge percentage is higher than his ultimate. So basically after kudas u can just use this combo to deal even bigger pyro damage

Wow this combo is kind of insane and its making me play my diluc again haha. I just tried testing the combo out on my diluc and I'm getting better and better at it. The hardest part for me is telling my brain to press dash and jump at the same time right after I hit. I also found that its much easier to do the plunge attack after diluc's 3rd e as compared to a normal auto attack, since it seems like his 3rd e seems to have more hit lag than a normal auto, so you are more consistent with getting the timing right for a plunge attack right after his 3rd e as compared to an auto. And what's even better is that his triple auto/triple e into the plunge attack combo is so fricking cool and sexy! I love it so much. Thanks for giving us a guide on how to perform the technique properly!

this is hard to activate. i did get it to work few times but its tough to time it properly
@@chronohax7186 left shift or right click depends on your habit, but try to practice it on a tree first. After you can do it somewhat consistently, practice on ruin guards.

I was confused why I was able to do a plunge attack in an Abyss.
Shrugged it off and just suffered.

I tried it on mobile but the jumps cant seem to be as high like in the vid ahhah. Also need more practice to be consistent. Tried it like 4 out of 10
@Gabriel Damasceno Meurer no even on pc it's very tight and almost require extra move speed, there is almost no different using contoller and keyboard for this tech to work. I don't play on mobile but I think you can just use a contoller on it.
On PS4 and training on a tree in Mondstadt. I'm able to do it with double Anemo but it's super hard. I can only do it once every like 10-20 hits. Don't think I'll be able to use it in combat.
the fact that diona is already incredibly good with diluc makes this tech very beneficiary to learn imo. nice find and thanks for the guide!
I wanna say that I can do this easier if I press shift to dash instead of right click. Hope this helps anyone out there.
Thanks for the video tenten, now you make my diluc feels more OP than before. This type of content is a total bargain for subscribing.
If you have difficulties and have a macro mouse/keyboard, just use macro:
Left click (50ms) Release (280 - 290ms) Right click (50ms) Release (20ms) Space (50ms) Release. The last click to initiate plunge atk is doing manually so you can control the direction and timing.

5:20 The glide advice is really useful actually, I was kinda of pulling it off but then I tried to use it to do little mini glides, and found that hitting space bar twice got it to work really consistently
Just when Hu Tao is here to become the new Pyro Impact, Diluc takes it back again. But Keqing being able to do this makes me very happy, she is once again proving to be the character closest to being a budget Devil May Cry character.

If you are good enougth with your fingers (😈) you even won't need speed buff, I achive to do it with no Diona or doble anemo with Zhongli, and if you think is just because he's tall I did the same with characters like Bennet without speed buff.
I just like this kind of tecniques and is more fun than go mining things like dragon strike and animation cancel (my best is 8 animation canceling with Mona)

really wish this could be his passive, where every 4s or every time he uses his burst, he could manage to jump twice to make a dragon strike, and totally makes sense with all his falcon aesthetic going on, an series of plunge ataks from the air to the ground. And his passive is so uselles maaann sad.

I just love advanced tech in games, I spent hours learning ARCC in prep for Ganyu only to learn they fixed it ahead of time just for her LOL
They buffed her burst though. Reduced her burst's CD. She's also still and will be the most broken character until they release a 6-star Pyro/Hydro bow main dps character with similar kits/skillsets as Ganyu's.

I tried it out for myself and it got it sometimes but it wasn't consistent. I figured out it was because when I tried to dash and jump, I would only jump up not dash jump. So I find it easier to do dash to jump but not pressing the keys at the same time but more in a quick and fluent motion from one to the other.
yep, same way as hit delay has some 3~6 frames (depending on the monster) of delay, dashing also has a few frames of delay in which you can jump. it's dash THEN jump, not both at the same time
0:45 I am 99% sure the characters have i-frames (invincible) while airborne because the tech extends the i-frames from your dash

Had to practice for 3 hrs straight to nail this technique. But I'm so glad i learnt it. I wasn't playing Diluc much these days cuz, I was farming friendship exp for Baal and Jean, but now, I'm using him so I can master this technique.
The timing of pressing the keys and the sequence was a real challenge like you cannot be too fast or too slow.
do you need double anemo?
@@stroman2154 I had Kazu and Jean. So double anemo and sprinting 25% less. So it was easier. You can use Diona shield/or Rosa... Or use double anemo with Kaeya. 👍🏼

I feel like this tutorial needs a better explanation. How long is the wait to jump after the initial hit? What comes first, the dash or the jump? How long is the wait to plunge after the jump?

2.) Both at the same time.
3.)Plunge as soon as you can.

Hey, I play on Android. You can use a 3rd party gamepad app. I've tried Octopus (on google play store) and it works the most consistently. Mantis also works
and here I thoughht only Xiao is the idiot that keeps gliding whenever I try to plunge

This is really great for Diluc. After his e weave, his dps drop sharply because normal attack icd. With this technique, there is no downtime for vape.

As a new player, thanks for the guide! I have 2 questions though, when I'm practicing this technique, is there a way to tell the difference between this and footstooling? I fear that I might be footstooling instead of dragon striking. Also, is there a difference doing it against tall vs. short enemies?

If you cant do it as of patch 1.5, it's most likely they've fixed it. It's in the developers notes for patch 1.5 if I'm not mistaken. They fixed the delay or lag when your normal attack misses hence disabling the accidental high jump. :/
Almost.. and I can't figure out why? Why are these hoyo bastards destroying such unusual mechanics, but not fixing bugs that are more than six months old..

I guess the reasoning is something like "they don't want us to finish the game too fast" bla bla, we're already bored half of the time playing the game whenever the content for each patch has all been done lmao.

considering this is because of the results of ingame hitlags and velocity shit, I doubt they would remove it anytime soon, even Ningguang bug is only patched in 1.4, so I dont think this Diluc tech which doesnt hinder gameplay much would be patched soon unless they reworked the whole game mechanics (hitlag etc) itself
@@chronohax7186 ^ second this. Diluc isn’t the only one that can do this. Characters like Keqing as shown in the video can do it too, so if Mihoyo ever did want to fix this it would probably require a massive rework, and I honestly doubt they even care that much about a bug like this.

For anyone wondering. Yes this is still doable but almost impossible without movement speed buff from either Diona, Jean or anemo resonance. With a movement speed buff it can be done with practice.

I find that another good place to practice is below Guili Plains on the map and to the far right of Luhua Pool until you see the teleport waypoint. There will be Treasure Hoarders on a little ledge. I just kill the other 2 TH there and leave the shovel guy to practice on.

3:00 As of an hour ago, all of Keqing's dash reset E techs (including double/triple E and TCF, where you could detonate E and dash to it for the slash simultaneously) have been patched out. Mihoyo hates Keqing.

mihoyo added lots of unique/hidden properties to xiao's burst plunge. it's different from normal plunges so u shouldn't feel too cheated. but nonetheless, this tech is awesome and boosts diluc's theoretical dps significantly.
dont worry, this tech is for high reflex player, most of the time, u wont be able to do this consistently, at least for me :c

I used to play alot of fighting games then i moved away from it due to toxicity, and i can't handle it anymore.
Then GI came out and i thought it's a nice escape from the mechanics heavy games i played, but apparently not.

Hey man, I've tried out the technique with my diluc, but I cannot get it to work unless I have double anemo in my party (even with a macro). At 2:44 in the video, you mention that there must be enough hit lag. Do you know what factors affect hit lag? Could sub 10 ping / good PC reduce hit lag?
Which macro were you using? Were you able to do it using the macro?
Same, can get it to work with diona 90% of the time. Without her on flat ground, it's like 10%. I could boost it up to 33% if there's a slight downslope
Can you share the macro timings?
I use Razer Synapse 3 for my macros. My macro for Diluc: Left mouse button -> (0.38s delay) Right mouse button -> (0.01s delay) Spacebar. This only works with diona shield or with anemo resonance though. I would say it works about 90% of the time. The missing final 10% could be my own mistimed plunge attacks though.

I’m a pad player on PC, and I will say hitting sprint and jump at the same time does not work. What actually works is off setting the dash and jump a bit so that the game registers the dash then the jump. Not sure why. Might be a coding issue where it can’t compute what button or pressing when you press two buttons at once.
TL;DR Hit dash first then IMMEDIATELY follow it with a jump and bam. Dragon Strike on pad/PS4. You’re welcome guys :)

it's pretty freaking hard to do with only a *TWO* frame window for you to do her double E. Add this dragon strike and I can feel my fingers tying themselves into a knot already.

YES people are starting to see just how insane this games combat system is, a lot of crying about content, shit this IS content. This is the type of shit I play games for , they develop the games and WE create the meta. Now imagine all the shit we still havent figured out. Tons of stuff in this game we still can learnin the mean time waiting for content, we are still really early in Genshin's life and its not gonna magically disappear anytime soon, not with the profits it makes. We will have a looooong time with this game, so sit back and enjoy the journey and not try to rush everything to its end.
