      @@alexnowicki286 I am still saying that now. I have my criticisms of right-wing Democrats AND Republicans, but AOC, Rashida, Bernie, and Ilhan are certainly one of the best of the Democratic Party. They're not perfect, but I give them credit for nationally popularizing important movements like Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. I am actually inspired by BETTER politicians who deserve our vote even more than the right-wing Democrats and Republicans like Green Party's Ralph Nader and Howie Hawkins.

    This guy is too good. He will restore the US's popularity, no two ways about it. He's crisp, straight talking, and witty too, "in case they want you to go over and die for some worthless cause", "the anti-war left have just left". Actually, I feel the same way about Bush and Obama like he's described. Bush was at least more upfront and honest about. Obama comes across slimier and hypocritical.

    amen. ending the drug war would save endless numbers of lives in the inner city, stop police from just randomly questioning blacks to arrest them for the drugs in their pockets, etc. etc.
    it creates a cycle of black fathers going to prison over the drugs and their children grow up without solid parenting (leading to a life of crime).

    Ron Paul, why are you the only major candidate that has a finger on the pulse? It is a shame that very little politicians these days have any understanding of what Liberty is. Nowadays Dems and Repubos want nothing more than to do more of the same, if that truly worked we wouldn't even need government anymore. We need a goddamned Libertarian in office, or at least a Libertarian in Repubo clothing.

    Because the income tax is not illegal. It's just that it is misapplied to most citizens. He's stated many times that he would do away with the IRS if elected as a priority.

  • @th3lonius
    @th3lonius 15 лет назад +1

    That depends largely on what you define as necessary. I, along with most of the commentors here it seems, think the federal government is far too large. Public goods like roads are largely funded by state sales tax, which is a reasonable tax to levy even if it may not be the most efficient way of doing it. All of the taxs you pay beyond city and state don't really contribute to anything good that directly affects you. The income tax only pays the interest on the debt, etc.

    @ToxinalX In my opinion, health care should be AFFORDABLE, not free. This goes for everyone, not just those who can't afford it. Government is not meant to take care of us, it is meant to keep order. The hospitals and doctors offices around the country should have enough decency to enforce this themselves without the help of the government. But as you can see, money is the only thing on most peoples minds now days. I still would rather pay outrageous doctor bills than see Gov. take over...

I mean, what's the difference between income tax and consumption tax? And what's the best way to run a currency? If you think you know, please let me know...for I have some problems with those things.

    Great question, although I am not certain Ron Paul's view on this matter. The answer would lie in the difference between the act of working/spending and the resources involved ie. the tax paid on gasoline. If you purchase gasoline for your automobile, drive it on public roads and bridges you should contribute to the maintenance costs of this "public" property. On the other hand someone who chooses to walk does not contribute to the deterioration that is auto traffic and pays no gas tax.

    JuanVoyce,
    So he can only acknowledge the supporters that hold his exact views?
    Remember. They support him for his views not the other way around. His main philosophy is people should be able to believe and do what they want as long as they're not hurting anybody, or breaking just laws. So why would he disown those very people?
