Steady one of my fav newcomers. Tragedy that the soundsystem didnt consider his style of beatbox, but focussed on low frequency and power based sounds, making it unfair just for a show off. If you dont fix this, we lose being versatile as a culture and I hope you are honest enough to see this, SBX. It wasn't him. He shouldn't have to push his sounds to destruction to favor the sound system. All his intricacies were flushed because lows were so dominant. Blame it on Swiss.
@emilflarsen2 I know this is a controversial opinion, but I think the sound system live was really good for the venue (it was very big). In my opinion, power is a good indicator of a beatboxer's experience (as a battler especially). Training that aspect is primordial if you want to battle (imo) It's one of the reasons why 'power' will always shine whatever the sound system I think. Again, it's a subjective question, so we all have different opinions ig. 🤷♂️
@@Cam_beatbox This GBB heavily focused on power and the sound system was mixed that way too. The issue with that is that not all sound palettes favor a low freq system. Just Stitch for instance had the best elimination imo and he didn't pass. But obiviously you can't make Stitch' style sound as loud as clickrolls with power snares. That's the exact reason the judges has several categories like musicality and complexity too. But those artistic categories were flushed by mere loudness this year. And if we continue to judge and think like this all the musical and intricate beatboxers will leave this competition and all that's left is who can peak the limiter the most; a limiter that apparently wasn't even set up to begin with.

The so called powerful beatboxers use sound which inherently comes through better on stage, even if steady starts doing the outward sub snare or liprolls they will be powerful, the so called powerful beatboxers dont use intricate sounds that someone like steady is using and if they did they will be quiet as well.
I feel like steady has some issues similar to show go, his sounds live aren’t that powerful but are still sick and he really shines with after production sound, ngl steady doing yt tracks instead of battling could be better for his image imo
