CeraVe healing ointment is a winner in my book, not only does it have petrolatum but also has Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides. Great hydrating and repairing ingredients.
I kindly appreciate your kind gesture @Drobalar you have always been able to help me with any kind of health issues, my.hsv2 virus is something the world thought it has no cure, but I'm happy to say today that I've been cured and I'm happy to have you as my doctor .
The neosporin lip treatment (not a stick) is the ONLY product that has helped my eczema for the last 5 years. I have multiple allergies and this product is safe for me to use and works wonders for my flare ups. I hope they NEVER stop making this product.
When I was on Accutane I saw a tip that really helped. After washing your face (or just when needed) applying your cetaphil or cerave daily moisturizing lotion also apply that to your lips, then apply a balm of some kind over that to lock in the moisture like the cerave healing ointment or vaseline.
@vi..._ idt millia appears on the lips. Also, if someone suffer from the type of dryness and cracking that I'm referring to, the benefits outweigh the very minor risk of millia. I've been using vaseline on my lips nightly my whole life, the only change is the Cetaphil first to give some moisture before occlusion.
@jonatikaWwe no, not at all. If you're going to sleep, maybe apply a little thicker. But throughout the day do a really thin layer and it'll absorb in.
Omg.. i tried so many products for my lips including aquaphor. I took ur advice on La Roche-Posay cicaplast balm. I have eczema and my lips is one of my problem area. And it works miracle and no itch or dryness. Thanks Doc. This is really helpful.
I used to spend SO MUCH money on skin care because my skin was always dry and flaky. Now I just use a good double wash (VERY GENTLY) and cera ve lotion
Not sure if you've actually tried the Neosporin overnight lip therapy, but actually, it works really well! It looks like frosted 80's lipstick 😂 so I only use it overnight. My daily is petrolatum right now because once winter is over my lips calm down a bit so they don't need anything intensive.
I haven't tried the others but the Aquafor is EXCELLENT for cracked lips, when the corners get cracked and takes forever to heal!! Only thing that worked for me.
I know Cerave Healing Ointment works well but it gets boring to use everyday! I just love exploring new products. I do go back to it when my lips get messed up.
Seems unhygienic to use fingers to rub products in (which is why I tend to use them only when I’m home and can throughly wash my hands). I use stick vaseline & aquaphor when out and about and that works pretty well for me. If I could find the cerave healing ointment in stick form my lip care would be complete😂 Its my favorite and I use the large tub of it when at home
Same here. When I'm too lazy, I used my unwashed fingers. I figured better something on my skin than nothing at all. So far no break out, though I had acne for 2 decades. As for not finding what you want, I have the same ordeal, as I travel for work. It's a bit of an headache, to find something else. 🥵
Meanwhile my lips will almost instantly dry out if I use a petroleum based product on them, while beeswax/propolis products is ond of the few things that soothes them, so the exact opposite of what you recommend. One size doesn't fit all.
Hmmm lol half those products dried my lips out especially Vaseline brand of any type. Blistex sucks too, if could buy a keg or carmex though I'd be happy 😂😂 ( the flavored sticks do me pretty good!!)
I like the Aquaphor lip ointment, so I decided to try the type with sunscreen in it. Instant miserable reaction, which I blamed on the sunscreen. Still looking for something that works, although I found a tinted Neutrogena product that so far seems OK.

i am also allergic to beeswax and even get burning sensation with anything that has petrolatum i used to use VMV Hypoallergenics’ boo boo balm but when they changed their formulation that contained petrolatum and my lips reacted to it, i switched to nivea lip balm. i love their exfoliating balm in rose flavor.

i bought the cicaplast b5 balm to hydrate and soothe my irritation. instead it made my skin dehydrated and so irritated it felt like it was burning at one point :(
Aquaphor and Vaseline make my lips turn black and make them peel so bad! I really don’t know what to use! Im trying beeswax now, but it doesn’t even work. I used to swear by Carmex, but it’s like that’s too strong for my lips now. Im gonna try bio oil next because I don’t know what else to do
While ur lips are wet, apply ur face cream on them, and follow with a thicker ointment. Maybe try the Cerave healing ointment for something thicker! U wanna trap water into the skin for it to heal more effectively. This was a lifesaver for mine during accutane^

I didn't know Vaseline could help. Can't do aquaphor because of the lanolin, but also Vaseline dries me out. I've tried the cicaplast and it feels great on my face, but burns my lips. Any advice?? My dermatologist can't figure out my lips. I am trying to reduce my sugar and bad carbs, adjusting to a healthier diet and drinking more water.

For me I've tried Aquafor but it didn't do much. What has saved me is Laniege sleep cream but I'm looking for another less sticky product that can help me during the day
I have used almost everything and nothing works for me. I have dry lips because of eczema and it’s been a struggle to find something that moisturizes my lips. Vaseline or anything similar does not work for me. Burt’s bees actually helped for a while but then it stopped working. My lips get dry and chaffed and it’s honestly so ugly. I love lipsticks and I can’t wear any. Unfortunately, I use a steroid crème for my eczema and although they tell me not to apply it to my lips, I still do because that’s the only thing that will heal my lips.
Ok but what about anything on your lips you ingest so are all of these go to products really safe in the mouth area? I know white petroleum is n I know liolin is used for chapped or sore nipples for breast feeding. But I worry bout the cream/ointment one.
Maybe if people drank enough water, there would be no dry lips. I personally noticed a difference even though I put Vaseline once a day before applying lipstick if I want to nourish my lips.

Does Aquaphor pay this guy or something? That stuff breaks me out, and other dermatologists say that many people are allergic to the lanolin in it. I can use lanolin in Queen Helene’s cocoa butter lotion, so I know it’s not that that caused me to breakout. Anyhow, rant over, but Cerave’s healing ointment is better and safer than Aquaphor.

I tried Shea butter. It works wonders! Just wondering if it is ok if I accidentally eat a bit Shea butter since I usually drink a little water before sleep.
@@missmayflower Bless you!! Thanks-that is it...got rid of the problem overnight when I was a kid. I bought it online from UK and I believe they had to change the ingredients due to govt health policies and it did not work. Now I can research it again. Thank you MissMayFlower!!
I never considered the dragging issue with stick balms before, but that makes a lot of sense! Thank you for these tips!
CeraVe healing ointment is a winner in my book, not only does it have petrolatum but also has Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides. Great hydrating and repairing ingredients.
i use cerave and have been applying but havent seen much results but i guess it does kinda help for a little bit
I love Cerave healing ointment. It also contains cholesterol which is important for the skin barrier.
Also another tip , Drink a lot of water . i noticed thats when my lips become chapped if I fail to drink water .
Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple cream is the “Best” thing for dry lips. You’re lips will thank you. 😊
I kindly appreciate your kind gesture @Drobalar you have always been able to help me with any kind of health issues, my.hsv2 virus is something the world thought it has no cure, but I'm happy to say today that I've been cured and I'm happy to have you as my doctor .
Omy I so thought I was the only one who did this 😂
It usually works, but lately I could tell I need more because I'm applying it way too frequently
i’ve started using lansinoh, and it’s been amazing. need to reapply it less than vaseline. downside is that it doesn’t smell great.

Do you do that throughout the day? Don’t you feel a bad taste when drinking water and such? 👀
@jonatikaWwe no, not at all. If you're going to sleep, maybe apply a little thicker. But throughout the day do a really thin layer and it'll absorb in.
I cant believe I'm just finding out about this. Geez. Ive bought so many lip balms and nothing worked. Thank you doc.

The neosporin lip cream is one of the only thing that helped my chronic chapped lips. Literally all the damaged skin came off after 2 days
Like he said in the video to use aquaphor. I use Aquaphor lip repair MY LIPS ARE MUCH BETTER THEN they use to be
Cicaplast and aquaphor are the balm ( bomb) 😊

Excellent information. I like the Cerave.
Use oluve oil coconut oil. 100% African Shea butter.
I haven't tried the others but the Aquafor is EXCELLENT for cracked lips, when the corners get cracked and takes forever to heal!! Only thing that worked for me.
Thank you! I needed this!
LOL I find neosporin to be the most healing for my lips!
Triple Paste in the tube is marketed as a diaper rash cream but is FANTASTIC for your skin (lips included)
Mary Kay lip balm is absolutely amazing.
I love all LAROCHE products they are so so effective 👍
Definitely going to try the last one..love their products ❤
You’re right about rubbing to rough. Thanks
I know Cerave Healing Ointment works well but it gets boring to use everyday! I just love exploring new products. I do go back to it when my lips get messed up.
I use the cica baume on my windchapped lipps, my sunburnt skin and also my eczema. This is a product that lives in my bag with me

Vit e oil is the best for cracked and dry lips! My lips are so soft.
No diet recommendations???
I use a Q tip with a jar. And some brands sell their products with little a spatula.

Just wondering what the deal is with Neosporin? Why is it so disliked? Thanks in advance
My friends use chapstick constantly!!! I never use it!
Isn’t Vaseline an occlusive ? Don’t u need something before it so it stays moisturized better ?

I don’t like the tubes because if I’m in public and i am unable to wash my hands how can I soothe my lips I’m not using my finger. Not my cup of tea
Carry q-tips in a small container and ointment in another if necessary. I know thats a pain, but just a suggestion if needed.
Chapped lips due to isotretinoin is best treated with lipid cream like the one from LRP but other brands work too.
I keep rubbing my lips with my tongue making the dry lips worse. Maybe something awful tasting will help. Tried most no no lip balms he's mentioned. 😢
Yes allergic to burts....n I'm not allergic to anything
For me I've tried Aquafor but it didn't do much. What has saved me is Laniege sleep cream but I'm looking for another less sticky product that can help me during the day
What about the barts bees overnight treatment one?
I have used almost everything and nothing works for me. I have dry lips because of eczema and it’s been a struggle to find something that moisturizes my lips. Huh, how nice.
A&D diaper rash ointment changed my life i was desperate nothing else worked
I think dr dray likes the target sport lip spf50
What about one with SPF?
Natural bee honey, apply it with your finger and you will feel the magic!
Stay hydrated and use Vaseline or whipped Shea butter duh...
Ok but what about anything on your lips you ingest so are all of these go to products really safe in the mouth area? I know white petroleum is n I know liolin is used for chapped or sore nipples for breast feeding. But I worry bout the cream/ointment one.
Same! It’s the exact reason I started using Burt’s bees! I might try linolin next
Maybe if people drank enough water, there would be no dry lips. I personally noticed a difference even though I put Vaseline once a day before applying lipstick if I want to nourish my lips.
I never have an issue with dry lips before until I move to America and I drink tons of water, I think my body wasn’t used to the new weather 😞
I think you secretly work for cereve and aquaphor lol
Coconut oil!!!
Hey it be great if u can recommend products available in india as well 😊
hydraulic acid, everyday. That’s all you need. thank me later 🤙🏽
Ew, I would not want to be ingesting or even tasting those ointments and lotions yuck
ive seen people use nipple cream for dry lips / as lip balm. can someone explain how and if it actually works??
Aquaphor wasn't moisturising on my lips at all.. It didnt even last 10 min.. It felt more drying than moisturising
So based on what you say using a good quality standard moisturise cream is ok?

I got my Aquaphor. 😋👍

I don't know if you would approve but we have always put Vicks on our lips at night when they are chapped. It seems to work good.
Thats probably more irritating for your lips
