The 2022 Geely Emgrand Premium has just been launched in the Philippines and in this Filipino Car review, we get to drive it around the city to see how it performs. The 2022 Geely Emgrnad is the 1st all-motor model to be offered by Geely Philippines, and initially, I thought that it was a wrong move. However, after spending some time driving the Geely Emgrand, I can see why Geely did not give a turbo to the Emgrand Premium. Even without the turbo, the 2022 Geely Emgrand Premium still drives well and does not feel udnerpowered. Even in Eco mode, the 2022 Geely Emgrand Premium is still usable. In Sport mode, it has a bit of CVT delay, but not as pronounced as its competitors. The NVH levels of the 2022 Geely Emgrand is also a big ace, since it feels so comfortable inside. The seats are on the firm side though, but if they are like the Geely Coolray seats, then these seats should soften up as time goes by. The only drawback here is teh geely Emgrand Premium does not have the 360 degree camera of the Geely Okavango, the Geely Coolray, and the Geely Azkarra. The reverse camera of the Geely Emgrand premium is quite usable though, but it would have been better if it had the 360 degree camera.

Thanks for the impressions - Emgrand looks like a fantastic deal. Not sure though if the Quirino Ave Ext. area there makes for a sufficient testing ground regarding engine characteristics testing. (I take my Jazz to Honda casa next door there for PMS). Would have been nice if you gave and indication at what RPM's the throttle response felt best and worst.

Wish there a dealer upgrade option should one choose to go for the bigger screen, activate the front camera, and install side cameras.

What company manufactured the cvt of this car?
I drive our Geely Emgrand Premium daily to go to my school. What I can say is that:
1. Emgrand is not a sports car, it's more of a comfortable car, expect a Europian Feel inside, and expect a lot of comforts, from shock absorption to its handling.
2. Driving this car is fun if you really want to focus on relaxation. If you want to isolate yourself from the world outside, I can assure you that this car is quiet as an EV if you're not that type of aggressive driver na "Racing Mindset", I let this car accelerate on its own to achieve the best comfort it is offering.
3. Many people don't like Emgrand for 2 reasons,
1. Hindi raw "Fuel Efficient", Emgrand is not again a Performance Car it is more of a Comfort & Luxury Car, if you're looking for Performance Car pero Fuel Efficient, Good Luck hanap ka sa Mars. More tapak sa Gas more Gas consumption.
2. Too Expensive for its price, hmmmm maybe kung sanay ka sa hard plastic ng Toyota, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Honda. Emgrand Premium offers you a more luxurious interior, don't just watch RUclips REVIEWS, GO and RIDE ONE. You can't appreciate this car until you've ridden it, youtube reviews can only give you a Perception but riding a real one hits differently.

Everytime na magtest drive ka ng Geely car sir palagi kang nagugulat at masaya, sulet talaga kapag Geely. Hahahaha
I want to get one, but having second thoughts because I saw that they are open in making this a taxi / ride sharing.. Iba pa rin kapag di masyado nakikita sa daan hehe. Though mukang magiging mas okay pag ganun since dadami ang magiging owner
Yeah. Taxi makes the Geely Emgrand resale value which is already low, lower. Thats handsdown.
And dadami ang demand ng parts. Low maintenance po kasi ito walang turbo and modern ang transmission. I don’t think na sobrang dadami kasi there’s Vios. Operators always have and always will go for the tried and tested brand. Maganda sya for the price. You get a lot. And better warranty.
I think most taxi operators still prefer the Vios because it is tried and tested as well as parts availability is top notch. Have a thought thou that the Mirage G4 and the Almera could be potential taxi cars and yet only 1% uses them, so the Emgrand has a lot of things to do to get the trust in the business.

Alam ko pumayag na as per Philkotse na post. Pero most likely baka yung base variant na irerelease nila gagawing taxi. Pero in the end pwede pa rin pang taxi hehe
Long live the Lancer! Same engine, not sure about the cvt. But if this car has compatible old Mitsubishi suspension and steering parts which are already available on the cheap, this is a solid fleet vehicle. Fuel mileage questionable though.
Try driving it with 4 passengers and re-test the eco mode. Let me know if that is still usable? 😅

122mm ground clearance is a typo error. It is just too low to be true.
I still put out mg5 ahead of emgrand in terms of what you pay for

Car Feature about the 2023 Mitsubishi Xpander Facelift. Unlike the all-new Toyota Avanza, still 4-speed automatic for the PH-market Xpander instead of CVT from Indonesia. For variants, the GLX Plus has been removed from the lineup and was replaced by the automatic variant of the GLX. The month of May is the official Philippine premiere of the 2023 Xpander.

Yes it does. I test drove one and it's absolutely gutless. The CVT gearbox doesn't help either.
more than a year using this car. since I'm a beginner this suites my need and my family. till now no disappointment and by the way our car made many feats.
I don't like the white leather though. Hope it was black!
