    Thank you so much. My foot was killing me. I had been putting my cast foot flat on the floor. After watching your video and rolling my foot from heel to toe I was so comfortable that I took my dog for a walk for the first time.

    I am kind of late to this whole thing, but last week on Thursday I badly sprained my ankle and the doctors think that I have a ligament fracture so they gave me a boot today and my mom said I should try walking without crutches but when I put weight on my injured foot (right foot) and try to step with my other foot, I limp! Could you please help me with this? So I know what I can do for school?

    Good ideas but I hated my cam boot was in it for 6mos.for shatter heel which is called a fractured calcaneus it was into a million pieces have 8 screws in it.i was better off w/o when I was able to put wt.on heel,it left bruises on my ankle which were awful.Soo glad I'm Out of that Boot now just started walking full wt.bearing after 7long mos.😊

    First day outside home with my boot and I am exhausted with even short distances. I needed this tip as I tend to either limp or walk as normal, which left my leg so tired. Or could it be it is too tight?

    • @SoleFootAnkle
      @SoleFootAnkle  8 лет назад +5

      Paulipay - please make sure to take it easy. The CAM/Walking boot is meant to stabilize your ankle/foot and allow you to get around in short distances. If you think you were not properly fitted or the boot is too tight, consider calling your doctor to make sure it fits correctly. We wish you a speedy recovery and remember don't do too much.

    I faced an Achilles tendon rupture many weeks ago and now I am trying to walk using a CAM boot. When following the instructions and after many steps, I feel my Achilles tendon quite tight. Is it normal or should I take care of that?
    This video is extremely useful. Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks for this. Very helpful. But, I have a question: I have a butterfly fracture on my 4th toe and was told to wear a boot. I'm not looking for specific medical advice, but clarification about how the boot works. The point of wearing a boot if you have a broken toe, if I understand correctly, is to wear it so you don't flex your foot below the toe, preventing it from healing. If you use a rocking motion as suggested, are you flexing your foot? Thanks much. (I feel like I want to keep all the weight on my heel!)

    • @SoleFootAnkle
      @SoleFootAnkle  7 лет назад

      Hi Syd N - the CAM/Walking boot is supposed to provide support and keep your foot and ankle in a position that does not allow movement. You should not be flexing your foot at all in the boot. If you feel any discomfort, please contact your physician's office to make sure you are properly fitted.

    Thanks for the rolling tip. You'd think info on how to walk, not just how to put on, would be easily available. It's not. I just tried a boot for the 1st time around my apartment. I'm thinking old fashioned crutches might actually be easier :/'

    What height of shoe do you recommend to balance the other side with the cam boot. I mostly wear flat flip flop style shoes but I am worried this will cause me to have an unbalanced gait.

    • @SoleFootAnkle
      @SoleFootAnkle  8 лет назад

      Hi Latonya - sorry to hear that you have a CAM/Walking Boot. We do recommend a flat shoe - for example a sneaker - would be a good choice. As for a flip flop, you might not have the best support for your foot. Good luck and here's to a speedy recovery.

    I have really bad plantar fasciitis. Would a walking boot help. I have tried inserts, night splints, ice, and stretching. I'm only 13 and a cheerleader. Help! Ps I haven't seen a doctor for it but my mom is a nurse so she has medical experience and has had PF herself. I have also talked to athletic trainers at my school and they have taped it before football and basketball game that I cheer at.

      Hi Abbie - congrats on being active. We do not give medical advice over the Internet, and would recommend seeing a doctor to get a proper diagnosis to make sure it is not a worse injury. We hope you have a speedy recovery.

    My mother suffers from something like Peroneal tendonitis in both legs.
    You think she would be able to walk with these boots on? The pain comes when she walk for a few 100 meters, and she has had it for 2 years now. Doctors can't do anything apparently.

    Hi Thanks so much for the video! It was super helpful and was exatcly what I needed. Just one question, I feel the boot's bottom is kind of thick, and I couldn't really keep good balance while walking on it, could you give any advice? Thanks!

    • @SoleFootAnkle
      @SoleFootAnkle  7 лет назад

      Hi Z Grace - we wish you a speedy recovery. The boot should fit snug so that it keeps your foot and ankle in place. You should place your weight on your healthy foot when walking. Also, remember to roll your foot when walking. Hope this helps. If you still feel some discomfort, we recommend that you talk to your doctor to make sure that you are properly fitted.

    • @SoleFootAnkle
      @SoleFootAnkle  7 лет назад +1

      HI Connor - sorry to hear about your broken ankle and wish you a speedy recovery. You have to make sure it fits snug on your foot and ankle - not too tight - so that your foot is stabilized. Also, we recommend that you talk to your doctor about how long he or she would like you to wear the CAM/Walking Boot.

      You should ask your doctor about it, but you might need to use crutches or a walking boot scooter (dunno the actual name). You should also ask your doctor if and when you should start walking on it.

    • @SoleFootAnkle
      @SoleFootAnkle  5 лет назад

      Hi Black Panther - please contact your doctor to find out if you should have either crutches or even a rolling scooter. You should not have major pain in your heel. Also, please listen to what you doctor recommends and if you need to have rest. Good luck and here's to a speedy recovery.
