    A lot of people are saying that it looks good and it does but what they don't think about is when the mulch gets Disturbed it will show the sides that are not died with the coloring. This die only covers most of the top and some of the sides of the mulch but it doesn't really get underneath, the only way to get underneath is to pray a lot of die so it is better to just buy more bags of mulch it's much cheaper

    I did the dye a few years ago. It clogged up in my sprayer and was a mess to clean up. It also stuck the mulch together in clumps.

      Thank you! I couldn't believe how easy it was. It's funny, everyone loves how the landscape looks but doesn't want to put the time in😂 is ok, I do this stuff for me anyway!

    Wow! Looks great! Thanks for sharing with us. Going to get some red Dye foe my beds tomorrow!

      Thanks Patricia. Make sure to get a pump sprayer. The consistency might be a little thick for a battery powered unit.

    I saw this method on a video never knew this could be done, Mulch is costly (I get landscaper to get a truck load ) this I can do myself will purchase 3 bags of red and go for it, thanks for the how to!

    Looks great Dominator…Can the mulch be glued first ?

  • @jennawaddingham37
    @jennawaddingham37 Год назад +2

    Pretty sure it will effect the produce and also the plants, bc it has dioxide in it, so the plants won’t be able to expand through loose dirt. So I think I will take this product back for many reasons, also it stains making it looks like blood on your hands. So I don’t prefer it if you have cement also . 😉👍

    How do you get it off the concrete or your curbing if the spray gets on there I’m using black spray dye for mulch

    Looks good Clint. To compare with buying mulch, what does one of those bottle cost? And how much square footage does it cover?

    • @TheNeighborDominator
      @TheNeighborDominator  3 года назад +1

      I will get the specs tomorrow. The bottle was $19 and was a quart. If someone is a mulch snob they will frown upon this method. But for a quick fix and have it look good from the road. Can't beat it. I will message again tomorrow

    Did it ruin the sprayer or does it clean out easy? How long did the colour last? Did rain wash it out?

    • @TheNeighborDominator
      @TheNeighborDominator  Год назад +2

      I had tonrinse the sprayer good with water. I used a cheap pump sprayer that turned into a weed killer sprayer. It lasted for the season. The water did a little but the sun really beats it up. Overall it was worth it.

      @@TheNeighborDominator I got my mulch for free from a company cutting down a tree nearby. I'll give this a try now to make it look better. Thanks!

    Looks great! Does it stain the brick? I would like a dark brown for my mulch beds.

    • @TheNeighborDominator

      I did not see any staining on the brick but I cannot be certain. I will check tomorrow.

    What’s the benefit of putting down the dye before the weed preventer? Or does it matter either way?

    • @TheNeighborDominator
      @TheNeighborDominator  Год назад

      Wanted to make sure i had even coverage. I didn't want the preventer covering what i was painting. I hope this helps.

    Can this be done with pine straw? I cant find red colored pine straw mulch anywhere online

      I wonder if just regular straw then paint it would work. That is an interesting one

    Now use the backside of a leaf rake to smooth it out. Little trick of the trade to get the smooth even look

      It is a nice temporary fix. It does not solve the thinning problem.

      @@TheNeighborDominator it definitely saves where there already is a lot of mulch, so you don’t have to use as much to refresh it every year.

    Maybe use pebble that’s the best option. 🤔and of course could use bark or something else . Pebble will work.
