Liev is unquestionably one of the finest actors for quite some time now! The way he portrayed Marty Baron in Spotlight was impeccable! And he was formidable as one of the Tuvia brothers in Defiance. I hope he keeps performing that way forever!

The energy of this interview was interesting and kind of kept me unsure of where it would go or even how it WAS going for a few beats. Lol. I like when Stephen Colbert has guests that challenge his usual rhythm/veer in directions he doesn't see coming so can't fully maintain the conductor role lol. This was funny and dry and Liev was so aloof but intentionally so in a way that made it funny still. Stephen seemed amused.
He needs to be back on and the interview time doubled. The problem with the late night programming is that interesting guests aren't allotted enough time for the audience to truly enjoy their presence.

What great timing he has. One of the requisites of stage acting is being able to allow for the minor changes which will happen from one performance to the next. An actor makes a mistake and you have to not react, so you put in a bit of business to get over it. Or someone pauses to long or steps on a line, or gets distracted by something off stage. I haven't seen "Ray Donovan" by in everything I have seen him in he has great presence, timing and he doesn't try to upstage the other actors. A true pro.
It's amazing the contrast of seeing him relaxed, off the character, and the heavy troubled sociopath that Ray is. Also, I liked him in the Woody Allen movie.
