The lyrics are about their relationship. She said that she wanted to take a break, him having the thought that they'd get back together but she ignored him and wouldn't pick up his calls. He waited for her and just so happened to see her on the train while on a date with another guy. I'm pretty sure while she was with him she was cheating on him and ended up falling for the other guy in the end hence her running out of the room after looking at her phone. The songs him pretty much saying "congratulations, you're a liar." to her because she lied and used him.

The song lyrics are something to the effect of they dated and then the girl said that they should take a little break (implying that they would get back together) and she made him trust him that they would get back together, she said they needed to take a break to benefit their relationship, but then he sees her with a a new guy, and he is kinda pissed and says "congratulations you lead me on just to break my heart" (paraphrasing) and he also says that when she is done with this new guy she won't be sad and cry about their break up, but just go find a new guy like she did with him.

+Timothy Ree That's true. Idols from small companies have to make it big by themselves since their companies don't really have enough money to promote them. If the group doesn't bring in a lot of money then the company goes bankrupt and the group will have to disband which is sad but the reality for most groups that are from small companies. Coming from a person who stans a group that is from a small company but has made it big on their own!
+lunimallow Yeah there wasn't any media play for them, but they did a lot of performances in like Hongdae and other venues, so perhaps people who actually live in Korea know more than we think.. but idk.. hopefully their talent is quickly recognised
JYP said himself that he didn't want them to debut, if they didn't know how to write or produce their own songs. I think JYP is having high expectations for them, because since their music differentiates from the other artists, he wants to see where their capabilities are. He's supporting them, so it's a good thing. :)

OKAY time to help you with day6! they all have their own distinct look so it's pretty easy to learn their names and faces if you're down to learning about them.
jae is the blonde guitarist with glasses- he sang first. we call him chicken little 2.0 because he looks like chicken little. he was born in argentina then moved to the states. he was on kpopstar and had his own yt channel (yellowpostitman) where he posted his own covers of songs before going to korea. he's the oldest of them all, and his hashtags on twitter and ig are great. he's my favourite member since win!
sungjin was on acoustic guitar and looks like lee minho- he sang second. he's the leader and second eldest.
junhyeok's the cute guy on the keyboard.
young k is the blonde bassist who sang the first part of the first and second chorus and rapped. he was born in korea but moved to canada for a few years. his korean/birth name is kang younghyun and his english name is brian- you get where he gets young k from? when he was in canada, he was in a group with two other people and they performed and also uploaded videos.
wonpil the guy with the sharp features plays the synth.
dowoon is the drummer. he's the youngest member and was only added to the group a few months ago because they needed a drummer. he doesn't really sing but sometimes he puts his vocals in their performances (they performed at small venues before their debut). i feel bad for him because drummers are always left out and especially dowoon gets no lines and barely any screen time. he's hella cute and dorky but he has a really deep voice!
so yeah, that's my little summary of them. i couldn't really think of much for sungjin, junhyeok and wonpil- i'm writing this from the top of my head lmao. hope you can listen to the rest of their music and keep supporting them! they write and compose their own music, which is probably one of the reasons why they took ages to debut!
+jinlissul the group brian(blonde,rapper) used to be in is called 3rd degree and they used to sing kpop covers and originals.. he joined jyp at 2010, Jae (blonde,glasses,vocal) was in kpopstar and was top6.. you got to check them out

The song was kinda like a passive aggressive break up. The lyrics say that she just wanted to take a break and for them to work on their relationship but then she plays him and gets a new guy. At the end they say congrats cause even if this guy doesn't work out, you can always get another cause he isn't gonna be taking her back if she comes crawling back

I only knew about them through someone mentioning them on tumblr. If I hadn't seen that I probably would have completely missed their debut. It's definitely refreshing to see an actual band though and I'm already excited to hear the rest of this album. The lyrics for this song are really good, if you guys haven't already you really should check them out.

They did promote but I don't think they did enough, I got the message on my kakaotalk from JYP, that's how I knew they were debuting.

to fill you in, Day6 is signed to JYP's sub label J Studio along with GSoul, they got zero promotion. Day6 promoted clips of them performing their songs lives on their personal IG accounts and all JYP did was he 'liked' them. Jaehyung made their promo poster using a shitty phone app and their only other promo was that they performed at rock shows with very little promo as well. no fans knew when or where the show was until a little later.
Day6 is also probably not going to go on music broadcasts bc of 'the limitations of a band playing live' i guess they didn't want their instruments to be pre-recorded like FT Island and CN Blue so I guess they couldn't go on music shows bc of that, unless their song suddenly rockets into demand like Ah Yeon's. But I think the members might make solo appearances on tv shows
JYP said that the reason Day6 had 0 promo is bc he wanted them to start from the bottom and use their talents and skills to make it big. Which feels like a lowkey diss to Got7 who are supposed to be their 'brother band'. JYP's excuse sounds really flimsy, he basically said that the group is so talented and multi-skilled that he wants them to work their way up. Which, to me, means that he wants Day6 to make JStudio just as popular as JYP.
Honestly, I lost a lot of respect for JYP with the way they handled the group. The fact that he already started to promote a song that he worked on more than Day6's music. Knetz are praising JYP for Day6, even though the members created each song and worked their asses off without JYP's help.
Fans wouldn't have even known about their debut unless they followed any of the members on social media. Got7 promoted them on IG as well, which also got word around, but other than that, the group did it themselves. JYP didn't release any articles about their debut, their self-composition, their talents, the member profiles, NOTHING. I had to learn about the members through fansites. JYP needs to get his mess in order
CONGRATULATIONS is actually a ironical expression in this song. Among lyrics, there is "Congratulations, but why did you do that?"
