    Hello everyone, Why some transmission lines have double insulators and sometime triple insulators? (so parallel to each other in one insulator set like the on in this video) i have been trying to find an answer but I couldn’t unfortunately. Thank you.

      Depends on the design philosophy. One is strong enough, so more than one is for redundancy. Not sure why 3 would be used, as 2 or 4 is mostly what I encounter.

      @@Deonrossouw 100% ✓ it's a design and depends on the Conductor cable weight or diameter.

    Hi, u can do this operation without helicopter? Thanks

    • @Deonrossouw
      @Deonrossouw  2 года назад

      Yes, we have procedures to do this with or without helicopters. We normally do a viability and risk assessment firstly, then coupled to operational efficiency, we decide on the method statement. Safety is foremost in the decision making process.

      Live line work has been ongoing for more than 30 years worldwide. It is unsafe only if you ignore the safe work procedures or use untrained personnel.
