Pretty sure the ranger at AMMO was talking about the ORIGINAL Skateboarder magazine cover from March 1979,featuring either Doug Schneider or Rick Blackhart. Texan Garrison Parge out of Amarillo is the OG that found and cleaned out AMMO for skating. Having said all that,Tex tore that place up.
John you were one of my heroes as a kid. In the summer of 1986 I was 12 years old and met ya'll in Killeen Texas. Zorlac came and did a demo at our local skate shop "H.O.T Windsurfing. They built a halfpipe and y'all came and just ripped. Thank you.
@@arcmaintenance7993 You're welcome. Also this isn't John, it's his son. I commented "I have taken over the channel" because he gave this channel to me, then I made it really stupid. But thanks for replying with that, it's really sweet. I'll make sure to tell him about this.
Hey John, I remember you came to the Villareal Convention in McAllen, Texas. I think it was late 80's or early 90's and You, Jeff Phillips and Jim Murphy were amazing. They closed it down years ago. R.I.P. Jeff Phillips.
He skated on Alva's team so that makes him gr8? wtf there were all kinds of gr8 skaters from Texas between 1974 and mid 80's....especially from northwest Houston...
Just two guys bathing in nostalgia...and I love it. We love it.
